Chapter 30: Chapter 25: Monster flood
"Why is the forest shaking?" pondered a man with eyes the color of crystal, sensing the tremors beneath his feet.
"Quick, everyone take to the skies!" exclaimed a participant, startled, as he hopped onto his floating sword and soared into the air. Others quickly followed suit, mirroring his actions.
"Why is there a monster flood happening now?" Ben blurted out while perched on the strings he'd strung around the trees. He, along with Hyun and Kai, observed the frenzied march of monsters in a peculiar unison, refraining from attacking each other.
"Are they running from something?" Kai mused, eyes fixed on the approaching horde.
"Or heading towards something," Hyun chimed in with a mischievous grin.
"What do you mean?" Kai raised an eyebrow, seeking clarification.
"For a while now, there's been a strange scent in the air, and it has the same scent as Mina's," Hyun said, smiling.
"I noticed it too, this sweet scent I can now comform that it is definitely hers! I wasn't sure at first," Ben confirmed.
"But why now? She lost her memories. Is she trying to get herself killed?" Ben sighed, shaking his head.
"Isn't Mina like a golden core? I doubt she can easily get hurt," Hyun chuckled.
"I know that, but what I'm worried about is that does she remember her skills?" Ben asked, a hint of concern in his tone.
"Well if she pulled off a move like this I'm sure she clearly remembers some of her skills," Kai said confidently with crossed arms as he stared at Hyun and Ben.
"I'm just worried about her, since my senior sister can sometimes act irrational and get herself in near death situations," Ben said with a worried tone.
"Then let's follow the monsters. As you should know, fifteen days have passed. I won't be surprised if she jumped on someone," Hyun said as he was watching the direction the monsters were heading.
"I actually didn't realize. And that slave bastard was next to her the whole time!" Kai seethed and bit his nails.
"If she's using this much of her power, she might slip into her aroused mode," Hyun said with an amused tone, earning frowns from Kai and Ben.
We need to find Mina immediately!!" Ben declared urgently with a flushed face.
"I guess we'll get a new member into our group," Hyun laughed.
"I hope we don't!!" Kai and Ben yelled in unison as they immediately dashed off.
"I can't tell if these guys are either perverts or they are genuinely worried about her. But it seems to be both," Hyun shrugged before running after them.
________
In an extremely grand arena, filled with disciples of the various sects who watched the sects trials and some cheers could be heard for some participants displayed on the screen. In the top yet largest room in the arena a group of mysterious adults occupied it, fixated on the screen before them. These individuals held the reins as owners and elders of diverse sects who were orchestrating these trials to recruit new disciples.
"Why the sudden bizarre behavior from the monsters?" questioned Heymar Spark Blossom, Sect Leader of the Rose Bloom Sect, her sharp eyes tracking the chaos unfolding in the trials. She appeared as a beautiful fair middle-aged vampire woman with short black hair, she wore a rose-colored gown that complemented her bright blue eyes.
"Why the unexpected monster flood?" bellowed Balrnorin Rephor, Water Moon Sect's leader, observing the monsters gathering together and charging in a single direction, wreaking havoc and causing injuries to many participants. He appeared as a middle-aged man with a hint of gray in his hair and vivid red strands, his frustrated gaze pierced through black eyes. He sported a blue robe adorned with water and moon patterns.
"Deploy the outer elders to rescue students in grave danger or those wishing to withdraw but are unable to use their tokens!" Fengeon Fallmight, the Sky Fog Sect Leader, issued a rather mundane instruction. Heads nodded in agreement as calls were swiftly made through jade phones and, more futuristic versions, mobile phones. Fengeon, is a handsome brown-skinned middle-aged dark elf with golden eyes behind glasses and long green hair, sitting in a hovering chair, donned in sci-fi attire.
"Why are the monsters behaving this way?" Beilen Ielomos, Sect Leader of the Knowledge Sea Sect, inquired curiously, detecting a pattern in the monsters' erratic behavior. He appeared as a fair-skinned middle-aged man, he sported a grey sci-fi robe adorned with book patterns, short light blue hair, and sharp brown eyes.
"Have you not noticed the participant the monsters are gathering around?" Jean Dureatte, Wandering Silver Sect's leader, a sexy woman with brown skin and bird wings on her back, directed attention to the screen. It revealed a breathtaking young woman in the sky, who watched happily as the monsters fell into her trap. That woman was none other than Mina.
"Who's that girl?" Bo Qiang Bo, Crimson Serpent Sect's leader, questioned with a rough, deep voice, his dark purple slit eyes fixed on the screen before him. He appeared as a snake man, and he wore a long red robe with golden snake embroidery, his human legs were covered by trousers.
Hearing his s words stirred murmurs in the room, but one man, shrouded in a dark hood matching his lengthy robe, watched the screen with a smile. "I thought you had died, my disciple Mina. But I'm glad you're okay," he uttered with an alluring voice, a smile gracing his pale face.

"Well due to this unexpected monster frenzy, let's seize the opportunity to thin their numbers!" proclaimed a participant, skillfully killing off the frenzied creatures from the cover of the trees with well-aimed arrows. Witnessing the effectiveness of this strategy, others swiftly followed suit.
"I can't understand what is driving these monsters mad, but it's certainly playing in our favor!" declared a female participant with evident delight, casting fire spikes into the midst of the chaotic horde.
_______
Reoul's concerned tone cut through the monster's cries, "Mina, the trap isn't going to work anymore. The spikes and the hole are filling up too fast, making them less dangerous to the monsters."
Calmly, Mina reassured, "No need to panic; I'll simply blast them away." With a maniacal expression, she conjured a scythe from her chest and raised it towards the sky. Darkness enshrouded the sky as hundreds of magic circles appeared under the clouds.
"Dark fall," Mina uttered, and torrents of dark fire descended, creating massive explosions and reducing the monsters to ash in an instant.
The entire area around her transformed into a large bush fire of dark purple flames, obliterating every monster within reach and leaving behind scorched remnants. As the surviving monsters scampered frantically to evade the inferno, Reoul couldn't help but nervously ponder, 'Who is this woman?' A subtle sm
ile graced his lips, despite the slightly nervous look on his face.
