'The hell is this?' Wei Jun couldn't help but be annoyed. It was already too difficult for him, and now this.
'What the hell am I supposed to do with just this much? And you're pretty sure about the punishment to boot.' Wei Jun's another annoyance point.
But, unlike the overseer, no reply came from the system. The system itself only spoke whenever a question was asked, and even then, it only replied to some specific information, not everything Wei Jun wanted to know.
"Haa..." Wei Jun sighed as the bodies of the humanoid monsters burned and turned to dust. The princess standing next to him asked, "Is there something wrong,
Lord Wei Jun?"
"Don't call me that." Wei Jun replied in an annoyed tone. The princess went silent out of fear of triggering him, while her guard also followed suit. After witnessing Wei Jun's overwhelming power, his arrogant and noble attitude was nowhere to be seen. All he could hope right now was that Wei Jun wouldn't turn him like those creatures he was burning at the basis of his attitude earlier.
Wei Jun, however, couldn't care less. If he was going to kill those two, it wouldn't be because of their attitude but because of his annoyance at the current unfolding events.
'I'm worried.' Wei Jun couldn't help but say inwardly. He didn't know what was going on outside of this imaginary place, or whatever that place he was stuck in was. The only problem was that most of his team was outside, and if he didn't make it out on time, his subordinates faced eradication, given the overwhelming strength of the man he was facing before coming to that historical event.
"How far do we have to go before we arrive at the imperial palace?" Wei Jun asked.
"Are you sure that would be the right thing to do, lord Wei Jun?" The princess asked despite knowing that Wei Jun was in a hurry. "Why?" Wei Jun, on the contrary, didn't get mad and asked. If there was something else at play, he wanted to be aware of all factors before doing anything.
"Reinforcements from Jianghu are sure to arrive soon. If we can just hold on until then, the help would surely be great and the chances of victory would increase significantly." The princess replied.
'What's that now?' Wei Jun thought inwardly, but he asked in a way that wouldn't incur suspicion, "Elaborate."
"Certainly. We asked the forces of Jianghu, the Murim alliance, and the Heavenly Demon Sect to send their help. Due to how sudden it was, it was too late, but as long as I survive, the imperial family could function in as same so they are obligated to help us." The princess replied.
'Why does that name sound familiar?' Wei Jun couldn't help but ask himself at the mention of the 'Heavenly demon sect', but ignored it and asked, "And they are expected to arrive in?"
"In three days." The princess replied.

[Hold out until the reinforcements to defeat the 'Slaughterer of the East' arrive]
[Main task has not yet been updated]
'What the hell is with this one?' Wei Jun couldn't help but be annoyed once again. He took a deep breath to calm himself and asked the princess, "Are they strong enough to defeat the one who did all of this?"
"Though in recent years the powers of the Murim alliance and the unjust factions have dropped significantly, they are still a force to reckon with; however, with the Heavenly demon sect on its rise, the victory is guaranteed as long as they send one of their elemental demons." The princess replied.
'I don't get any of that but...' Wei Jun mused inwardly before he asked, "So you're sure of victory?"
"Yes." The princess replied.
But Wei Jun wasn't convinced. If all he had to do was wait for reinforcements to finish that quest, then it would be too easy. Life was anything but easy. His life was definitely not easy.
And as if not to disappoint his views about his life, the system once again rang and delivered another bad news.
[Time limit has been decided]
[Come in contact with the 'Slaughterer of the East' in 50 hours]

"Oi." Wei Jun addressed the princess, who was startled to be addressed as so.
"Ye-Yes?" But could she say anything regarding that? So she could only let it go and asked what Wei Jun wanted.
"How long would it take to reach our destination at this pace?" Wei Jun asked.
"At our current pace, it should take us two and a half days." The princess replied.
"..."
'Fu*k.'
His life indeed was difficult.
~~
"Please reconsider!" The princess urged.
"Then don't follow me." Wei Jun simply replied as he slashed another group of the undead(for the sake of convenience) and moved forward.
"But if you go now, you will die. Kang Shim is too strong for you!" The princess kept following Wei Jun and kept trying to convince him to return, but no matter what she did, Wei Jun's relentless assault didn't cease no matter what. In fact, the more he killed, the faster his speed of advancement increased as if each slash was making him stronger.
Finally, after about two days of constant killing, or sort of killing, they finally arrived at the capital with only a few hours left at Wei Jun's disposal.

"So far, so good. But..." Wei Jun looked before him. There, between the undead adorned in golden armor, who seemed intimidating even to him, given their numbers, stood a man in a black robe with purple sashes here and there.
He held a fan in his hand and had a gentle expression on his face. He looked at Wei Jun and then the princess who cowered under his gaze, before he spoke, "I was very surprised to hear you were returning. But now I am even more so, seeing you stand before me."
"You traitor!" The princess's guard spoke, but the princess herself remained quiet.
"Huhu." The man chuckled mockingly but chose not to reply to the guard's words and turned to Wei Jun, "Do you know who you stand with, foreigner?"
"..." Wei Jun remained silent. His patience was running thin, yet he couldn't be rash and make mistakes. Depending on what unfolded, there would be a relentless battle up ahead. It was better to gain whatever information he could before moving.
"I shall be blunt, foreigner. Come to our side. You would be granted riches far beyond. If you believe their words and think the reinforcements from Jianghu can defeat our lord, then you're mistaken. Nothing can defeat him. Come to our side so our victory can be assured." The man lengthily spoke.
"..." Wei Jun once again remained silent, but this time due to some other reasons. Mainly because he had a decision to make.

'Daaammmnnn~~~'
Wei Jun couldn't help but be surprised by the list of rewards mentioned. Wei Jun had a feeling that if he had even one of them, he would be able to stop the man upon escaping that world.
On the other hand...
[Reward for 'Me' route:
#1: Whatever the user could and can gain
#2: The world's eternal gratitude]
'The hell is this sh*t?' Wei Jun thought.
"What is there to think so hard about?" The man asked, a little displeased that Wei Jun was taking so long to come to a decision when the decision was so easy to make.
"No, I mean, it's quite a difficult decision to make, so I hope you understand my position. After all, it's a pretty big decision to make." Wei Jun replied.
"Such as? Do you think our lord would lie for your loyalty?" The man was once again displeased.
"Oh no, not that. I decided the moment the options were displayed by the system." Wei Jun replied.
"What? Duspluad? Sysutym?" The man scrunched his face at the unfamiliar words.
"Right. Right." Wei Jun said that before death began to accumulate in his body at a fierce rate.
[Qi empowerment]
[All stats +110]
"The decision I'm conflicted about is whether to skin you alive or give you a painless death due to how little time I have." Wei Jun said with a cold expression and darkness spilling in his tone.
[A set route has been decided]
"I'm 'Me'. Who else dares to call themselves a slaughterer in my presence?" Wei Jun said in the same tone.
"How dare yo--!!" The man was about to speak when...
Boom!!!
"Save your words for later." Wei Jun said as he added his last bit, "You're gonna need them when you beg for mercy."
