Strongest Soldier King

Chapter 133: Finger Knife Finishing Move

The people inside still thought they were dealing with East Yi Yun members, the way of speaking was too similar. When they heard that their own had suffered heavy losses, they became anxious, and considering this was the East Yi Yun Members' base, with heavily armed guards at the door, no one could sneak in. The caller also precisely mentioned the hostage situation, clearly someone with inside knowledge—how else would they know these things? Additionally, with the slightly accented international language used by the East Yi Yun Members, their suspicions were further alleviated.

Outside the door, Luo Zheng drew his M9 combat knife and took a guarded position beside it. Hearing the sound of the lock being opened inside, he couldn't help but feel elated. He tensed his entire body, slightly bent, holding his breath, completely concealing his killing intent to avoid alerting those inside. These mercenaries, who constantly walked the line of death, were highly sensitive to danger and could not be taken lightly.

The door cracked open, an obvious sign of caution, but Luo Zheng couldn't wait any longer. He pounced like a tiger, kicking the door open, and his M9 combat knife traced a sinister arc aimed at the enemy behind it—fast as lightning, the full-strength blow was terrifying.

The Wild Wolf Mercenary Group member inside was very alert and sensed danger the moment Luo Zheng launched his attack. Dodging and crouching to evade the deadly knife, he was just about to pull the trigger when the door, slammed by Luo Zheng, sent him flying. Losing his center of gravity, he missed the chance to shoot. With a decisive back-step, he stabilized his stance, only to see a Black Shadow pouncing again. Angrily, he threw a ferocious kick like a steel whip, with a piercing sound through the air.

Recognizing the danger, Luo Zheng knew the mercenary's combat skills were formidable and his reactions quick. If the fight dragged on, he would undoubtedly be the one to die. Determined, he lunged forward, slashing his combat knife towards the mercenary's throat while blocking the incoming whip kick with his other hand.

However, Luo Zheng had underestimated the man's strength. It was as if the mercenary had anticipated his desperate move. He leaned back at a thirty-degree angle, narrowly evading the lethal slice, and his whip kick, following the momentum of his backward lean, suddenly changed direction, launching an assault on the upper part of Luo Zheng's body.

Luo Zheng, eager to attack, had put too much weight forward and had no strength left for a counter. His eyes glinted with a resolute intent to kill. Instead of backing off, he stepped forward, disregarding the fierce kick and threw himself at the mercenary, aiming a vicious slice at his abdomen with the combat knife.

The life-for-life tactic startled the adversary, who swiftly retracted his leg and stepped back in a strange move, bending to avoid Luo Zheng's deadly strike. He then positioned his arms for a combined assault, aiming straight for Luo Zheng's temples. Luo Zheng, having just stopped moving forward, was caught between exertions, without the strength to counter. Gritting his teeth, he ducked to dodge the fatal attack.

In a duel between experts, a round or two was all that was required to gauge the opponent's abilities. Seeing that Luo Zheng's skills were slightly inferior, a scornful look crossed the mercenary's steely face, as his cold eyes brimmed with a heightened killing intent. Suddenly changing his mind, he decided to capture Luo Zheng alive. His hands changed tactics, targeting the hand holding the knife. He grabbed Luo Zheng's wrist and aimed to cut at his chest, planning to knock him out for capture.

Luo Zheng felt his wrist grabbed, an overwhelming force sweeping over him, making it impossible to break free. Shocked, and with no way to avoid the incoming strike, he gritted his teeth, tilted his body to sidestep the blow targeting his chest. Suddenly, the knife in his reversed grip seemed to come alive, flipping deftly into a proper hold. In an instant, the knife flew out of his hand, becoming a bolt of lightning. The Finger Knife emerged, carrying a bone-chilling killing intent and the endless fury of its master, thrusting directly at the attacker's throat.

The attack was sudden, and the distance was no more than half a foot. The man had not expected Luo Zheng to still control the knife with his wrist restrained, the event falling outside of his realm of understanding, leaving him horrified. Just as he attempted to dodge, he found that his muscles, fully committed to the attack, could not keep up with his intent.

"Pff!" The blade penetrated flesh, blood splattered, and the Wild Wolf mercenary stood there stunned, hands clutching his throat, trying to stem the gushing blood. His eyes filled with confusion, shock, and unwillingness. He fell to the ground with a thud, his eyes wide open in death.

It was Finger Knife's first kill, which had an unexpected effect. Luo Zheng, who had only hoped to repel the enemy, was somewhat taken aback. Upon seeing the enemy fall to his death, he quickly came to his senses and began to survey his surroundings. He found himself in a storage room with stacks of firewood and spotted a person curled up on the floor, bound and motionless.

Luo Zheng hurried forward, turned him over, and saw it was the farmer. Overjoyed, he rushed over, pulled out his M9 bayonet, picked up the other's handgun, and cut the ropes in seconds. Pinching the man's philtrum, he woke the farmer and asked with concern, "Brother, how are you? Can you walk?"

The farmer looked at Luo Zheng in surprise, then around the room, quickly noticing the body on the floor, still bleeding profusely from the throat. Seeing the blood on Luo Zheng's M9 bayonet, he quickly realized what had happened and said, "It's not too bad, just my leg..."

Guided by the moonlight coming in from outside, Luo Zheng saw that the farmer's leg was beginning to swell with infection. He became very anxious, pulled the farmer up, and helped him towards the door while saying, "We must leave this place as quickly as possible." Having infiltrated for so long, aside from those responsible for guarding, he hadn't seen any other Wild Wolf Mercenary Group members. They must have gone off to pursue the scholars, and it wouldn't be long before they returned. They needed to get away without delay.

The farmer knew the situation was dire. Enduring the severe pain in his leg, he hastened his pace while saying, "You're right. Although those mercenaries didn't finish me off, they are formidable. But how did they not notice you coming in? What's with the gunfire in the distance? Did our brothers draw the mercenaries away?"

"Exactly," Luo Zheng quickly replied. Stepping outside, he saw no one paying attention to their direction and breathed a sigh of relief. After closing the door, he helped the farmer run towards a dark spot ahead. Soon they reached a corner, where Luo Zheng signaled the farmer to hide. In a low voice, he said, "Wait here, your leg is inflamed. I'll think of something."

"Let's talk about my leg later. We should focus on getting out. If it comes to it, you go first," said the farmer gratefully, feeling bad that Luo Zheng had risked himself for him.

"Don't talk like that. I have a plan; trust me. Before I come back, make sure to protect yourself well," Luo Zheng said calmly, handing the handgun to the farmer. Without hesitation, he strode off, a resolute expression on his face.

The farmer didn't know what Luo Zheng's plan for escape was. With a face full of concern and unable to stop him, he felt a warmth in his heart and took cover. Clicking the bullets into the chamber of the handgun, he resolved not to be a burden. If things went south, the farmer looked at the gun in his hand, his eyes flickering with determination...
