Strongest Soldier King

Chapter 1003: A New Journey

Three days later, the original National Blade Headquarters Base, the sign for the National Security Strategy Bureau's Fourth Special Service Team was officially hung. Looking at the powerful and bold characters of regular script, and then at this five-story building in front of them, Luo Zheng and the others smiled excitedly. This building would now be the place for everyone to work and live, dedicated to the Fourth Special Service Team.

Since Wu Jin announced the appointment letter, the allocation of this building was confirmed. Everyone spent three days cleaning and moving the equipment in. Thankfully, Shi Tao and Niu Gang brought people over. For Shi Tao and Niu Gang, joining the Special Service Team was very exciting, and since they were familiar with Luo Zheng and the others, they naturally did not refuse.

Original Ghost Team members Zhou Gang, Liu Xun, Zhang Bin, Wu Yuan, and Meng Zhu also arrived. The five were originally team leaders and packed up without hesitation when they received the orders. When reporting, Mountain Eagle asked them to recommend another person, making a total of ten. Each of them had their own teams, so they naturally selected from within their teams.

The three action teams were considered fully staffed. With Hong Meihua's help, Lan Xing also selected ten satisfactory members, all information specialists. Considering field operations, they specially composed it of five men and five women. The addition of five beauties added considerably to the Dragon Teeth Squadron's appeal.

Nearly fifty people worked simultaneously, setting up the office area in three days, and the sign was put up on schedule. Everyone was very excited as they all went to the conference room for the first meeting. Hong Meihua sat in the main seat, with Lan Xue and Lan Xing on the sides, and the others orderly took their seats according to rank.

Hong Meihua looked at her team, feeling somewhat excited and just about to say a few opening words when the phone rang. It was Wu Jin who called, and she immediately answered, saying, "Captain, it's me."

"Start the video connection immediately," Wu Jin said.

Hong Meihua quickly had Lan Xing get to work. Soon after, Wu Jin's face appeared on the screen, seated at the desk with a stern expression, saying, "Emergency mission. After organizational research, it's decided to be handed over to you, considered to be your Fourth Squadron's first mission since establishment."

"Yes, Captain, please give instructions," Hong Meihua replied, her expression sharpening as she agreed. Everyone else listened intently, afraid to miss a word.

"An armed attack occurred at a research base in a certain military region in the Northwest. Turn on the video first," Wu Jin said.

An armed attack on the research base? Everyone's expressions turned serious, realizing something major had happened. They all opened their eyes wide and watched. The screen showed a team attacking the valley, displaying extraordinary combat power. Soon, the screen went black, as if the signal was lost, causing everyone to be shocked and look at Lan Xing.

"The surveillance was hacked," Lan Xing quickly judged, speaking solemnly.

"Correct, someone hacked into the base's surveillance and cut off the power. No one knows what happened afterward. According to the guards who survived the attack, a team of about fifty attacked the base and broke into the internal research lab, killing many researchers," Wu Jin explained.

"What was stolen?" Luo Zheng keenly realized the gravity of the situation and quickly asked.

"A newly developed activation device," Wu Jin replied.

"What is it used for?" Luo Zheng asked in astonishment.

"It can control all domestic drones and issue attack commands to them," Wu Jin explained.

"Then shutting down the drones should solve it, right?" Lan Xue asked in surprise.

"The drones are already in a shut-down state, but the activation device contains our country's newly developed system source code, which can even infiltrate our weapon systems. Once infiltrated successfully, the core secrets of our country's weapons can be mastered by other countries and even exploited by those with ulterior motives," Wu Jin said with a grave face.

"Hiss?" Everyone's expressions changed drastically, falling into thought.

"There is currently very little information. The identities of the armed personnel who were killed cannot be determined, meaning we do not know who the adversary is or where they escaped to," Wu Jin continued with a cold face, "But the organization hopes you can recover the activation device as soon as possible." As he said this, a picture of the activation device appeared on the screen.

The screen quickly switched, with Wu Jin continuing to say, "This is the item. We don't know who the enemy is, nor in whose hands it has fallen. This is both a challenge and a test for you."

"We will complete the mission resolutely," Hong Meihua said without hesitation.

"Good. What do you need me to do?" Wu Jin immediately asked.

"We need to survey the site to determine the subsequent plan," Hong Meihua quickly said.

"Good, I will contact the base immediately," Wu Jin readily agreed.

After the call ended, Hong Meihua looked at everyone. After pondering for a moment, she said, "Brothers, this is a trust and a test from the organization. It's also our squadron's first mission since establishment and cannot be failed. If anyone has any ideas, put them forth for discussion."

Everyone habitually looked at Luo Zheng, Lan Xue included, who expressed a mix of surprise and curiosity, saying, "Folks, fifty fully armed personnel infiltrating the country is not easy. Don't forget, we are a gun-restrictive nation. Sneaking in with guns is harder, especially such a large number of guns. There might be a certain country's backing behind this. Secondly, their combat capability is extremely strong, well-trained, definitely not your average people. They seem like military personnel, meaning a certain country likely sent them."

"I agree with this analysis, but specific information requires site surveys and more intelligence," Luo Zheng stated thoughtfully, his expression growing heavy, his brows slightly furrowing.

"Did you think of something?" Lan Xue, who knew Luo Zheng very well, saw his expression and couldn't help but curiously ask.

"This group openly attacked the heavily guarded base and then suddenly vanished. Coupled with the images seen earlier, they seemed very familiar with the base, enough to suggest they planned this for a long time, maybe even having an inside informant. Of course, that's just my feeling, without any evidence," Luo Zheng pondered aloud.

"I agree, without an insiders' help, they couldn't possibly be so familiar with the base. I noticed earlier that this group attacked the weakest defended points. How could they know without insiders? Everyone, prepare for battle at home. Lan Xue, Lan Xing, Ghost, and I will go to the scene." Hong Meihua said sternly, feeling the weight of the pressure as they took on such a difficult task right from the start.

"I'll mobilize the helicopter," Luo Zheng also decisively stated, getting up and looking at Hong Meihua, awaiting orders.

"Alright, meeting adjourned," Hong Meihua quickly decided.

Everyone exited the conference room to make their preparations. Luo Zheng hurried to the rooftop to start the dedicated helicopter. Hong Meihua and Lan Xue also climbed aboard. The three took the helicopter into the air, rushing towards the incident's scene, soon vanishing between the blue sky and white clouds.
