Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time

Chapter 350: Gathering The Illegal Materials

Han Yu leaned back and stared at the sky, thoughts swirling.

He didn't mind playing the long game, but the desire to have a safeguard was still strong for him. Having faced death once, he knew just how horrifying it could be.

He didn't wish to wait years.

The Undying Life Charm was not just a curiosity anymore.

It was insurance. A fail-safe. A lifeline.

Chitterfang stretched and began gnawing on a spirit melon seed Han Yu had given it as a payment for his help.

Han Yu smiled faintly.

"Well, buddy," he said, tossing the rat another seed and flicking it through the air using a spiral of refined qi, "it looks like we're diving into the gray markets next."

And the rat, as if agreeing, let out a smug squeak and caught the seed mid-spin.

Over the next few days, the wheels of Han Yu's plan turned steadily—each step drawing him closer to his ultimate goal.

The first big milestone came when he finally received a message via one of Mu Yuning's familiars. A black-feathered spirit crow dropped a sealed jade slip into his courtyard, bearing a mark that shimmered faintly with qi—the unmistakable sigil of the Black Moth Pavilion.

Inside the message was a time and place.

Han Yu arrived at the secluded alcove on the eastern face of the Alchemy Peak just before dusk. Hidden under a waterfall illusion array, the passage led into a moss-covered cavern veined with glowing mushrooms and concealed formations.

There, a robed elder—masked, as all Black Moth Pavilion members were—waited for him.

"You're here for the Spirit-Forged Bone Shard?" the elder asked, his voice distorted through a talisman.

Han Yu nodded and handed over a merit token worth 100,000 points—an absolutely staggering amount, but there was no hesitation in his hand.

The shard he received was jagged, bluish-grey, and faintly translucent, with an eerie imprint carved into its surface. It pulsed faintly with suppressed death energy.

"Use it carefully," the elder warned. "It came from a Dao Treading Realm expert. One not meant to be disturbed."

Han Yu bowed slightly in gratitude, then left without a word. He couldn't afford to linger in places like this too long—not unless he wanted rumors to swirl again.

With one forbidden material secured, Han Yu now turned to the next: the Spirit Anchor Iron.

Unfortunately, this one wasn't going to be as easy.

Unlike the Bone Shard, which was part of internal sect black market dealings, the Spirit Anchor Iron was coming from an external source, someone who wasn't part of the Twin Leaf Peak Sect and thus couldn't care less about merit points.

They wanted real currency: spirit stones.

Specifically, ten thousand low-grade spirit stones for a 200g chunk—a fair deal, considering how rare and dangerous the material was.

Han Yu had some spirit stones, courtesy of Murong Xie's mine, but most were mid-grade, and breaking them down into low-grade would either be wasteful or require going through the sect's bank or other external ones.

Even the sect's exchange which gave a favorable rate charged a hefty conversion fee—around 15% per exchange. Outside it would be even worse, the more often you went, the worse the rate got.

Han Yu grimaced at the idea."Thieves in robes," he muttered under his breath. "Not happening."

He had about 7,000 low-grade spirit stones on hand. That left him with a shortfall of 3,000.

He considered converting mid-grade stones—he had plenty—but decided against it. Instead, he took a breath and committed to earning them the old-fashioned way:

Making pills and selling them directly to disciples.

Unlike selling to the Merit exchange Pavilion, where the profit margins were lower but guaranteed, selling directly meant higher returns—but more effort.

Han Yu reached out to a few of his tutoring disciples first.

These weren't just random students anymore; many had risen in prominence thanks to his help. They were more than happy to introduce him to inner court disciples, mission team captains, and even rogue cultivators stationed near the sect.

Healing pills, qi restoration pills, clarity elixirs, detox pills—Han Yu filled orders for them all.

Thanks to his ever-growing reputation, most paid a bit extra for his pills, trusting his quality over the bulk products provided at the Pavilion.

And with his intermediate alchemist status now official, he had access to better refining rooms. By refining two to three pills at once and improving purity to 80% or higher, he doubled his profits.

Now all he needed to do was grind.

The days became rhythmic and disciplined.

Morning: He'd deliver finished pills and take new custom orders.Midday to Night: He would refine nonstop, sometimes eating while controlling flames.Early Morning: He would sleep for just four hours and repeat the cycle.

Despite the lack of rest, Han Yu remained energetic. The rush of making money, the challenge of perfect refinement, and the goal of completing the Undying Life Charm fueled his determination like a blazing furnace.

Chitterfang, his ever-faithful companion, even began sorting herbs and polishing cauldron lids during idle time—earning himself extra treats for his service.

A few disciples joked that Han Yu was possessed by a business ghost.

Others began referring to him as "Master Han" despite him being younger than most of them.

A Month Later…

Exactly thirty-two days later, Han Yu sat in his courtyard under the moonlight, flipping through a ledger spirit scroll.

The final line read:

Total Profit: 3,098 Spirit Stones (net)

Pills Made: 137

Direct Clients: 49

Chitterfang Snacks Consumed: Too many to count

"Done," Han Yu whispered, flicking the scroll shut.

He now had over 10,000 spirit stones in neat storage—some low-grade, some split from mid-grade by trading with trusted clients for no conversion loss.

Now he had the Spirit-Forged Bone Shard.

He had the Spirit Anchor Iron.

He already possessed the rest of the ingredients by buying them or hunting the Flame Born Beasts at the Slumbering Caldera.

Now… only the Three-Cycle Soul Grass and Moonshadow Lotus remained.

Han Yu leaned back and closed his eyes.

His plan wasn't complete yet—but he had climbed two more mountains.

And he wasn't about to stop now.
