Chapter 41: SPOP Chapter 41 Becoming a Spirit

There was now a cat aboard Rojen's ship, a feline he had stumbled upon by chance.

Perhaps it was the look of confusion and pity in the cat's eyes that tugged at his heartstrings when he first saw it on his ship. But after the cat came aboard, he quickly realized this was no ordinary creature!

Have you ever seen a cat that refuses to eat raw fish, only relishing perfectly braised fish, and even turns its nose up at poorly cooked meals?

Have you ever encountered a cat that sleeps until a set hour every morning, then leaps onto your face and scratches you awake?

Have you ever met a cat that, when you get angry, becomes even angrier, yowling and meowing incessantly at you?

This was no ordinary cat— it had practically become a spirit!

"Wasn't it said that after the founding of the nation, spirits weren't allowed to exist?"

Rojen rubbed his temples, gazing at the cat sprawled on the deck with an air of arrogance, feeling utterly speechless.

Lately, he had been looked down upon! Yes, by a cat!

This feline had a severe disdain for his cooking skills and even went on a hunger strike at one point.

"Damn it, this cat has truly become a spirit!"

Back in the day, when he had cats, wasn't it always the case that he ate what the cat ate, or the cat ate what he ate?

Now, in the world of One Piece, even cats could train? Were they trying to defy the heavens like some protagonist in novels?

Finally, Rojen couldn't bear the humiliation of being scorned by a cat any longer. He spent 10,000 Berries to summon a ghostly chef.

"Summon me a red-grade spirit!"

"I want one that can cook, and cook well!"

Glaring fiercely at the cat, Rojen gritted his teeth.

"Specifying ghost type for summoning doubles the cost. Please confirm!"

The system's cold voice echoed, but Rojen didn't hesitate and proceeded with the summoning.

"Whoosh!"

A dazzling array of lights flashed before Rojen's eyes, and a figure stepped forward, instantly merging with him.

At that moment, a profound understanding flooded Rojen's mind, and a look of enlightenment appeared in his eyes.

But just a minute later, his expression turned to one of bitter amusement.

"It's actually him. Money really can summon spirits!"

The ghost summoned by the system this time was utterly fascinating. Anyone from his previous life would have recognized this face at a glance.

"Food God, Stephen Chow, Skill: Kitchen Mastery!"

"Known Skill: Overwhelming Sadness Palm!"

The information was clear and concise, and Rojen understood it immediately. The Food God he had summoned was the protagonist from the film 'The God of Cookery', featuring Stephen Chow (Zhou Xingchi) in his early years.

This film wasn't known for its martial arts; Stephen's specialty was his culinary prowess.

After seeing the price of Stephen's culinary skills, Rojen didn't hesitate and immediately exchanged for them.

"Congratulations, host, for spending 300 possession coins to learn the Kitchen God's skills!"

The system's cold voice rang out, and Rojen's body trembled as he mastered the kitchen techniques. With Stephen's spirit now within him, he rushed to the galley.

Soon, the sound of "dāng dāng dāng" echoed continuously as Rojen began to showcase his newfound skills.

This time, he refused to believe the little cat could still mock him!

"Prepare to be amazed, you little furball!"

With godlike knife skills, impeccable ingredient combinations, and an unflappable demeanor, a fresh plate of braised fish was ready in no time.

It had to be said, the Kitchen God's skills were truly extraordinary.

With just a few simple ingredient pairings and seasoning combinations, the fish on the plate came to life. A mouthwatering aroma wafted through the air, showcasing the fish's deliciousness. One whiff was enough to make you feel invincible.

Excitedly, Rojen picked up the plate and headed toward the cat's nest.

This cat was truly remarkable. It demanded its own quarters and even groomed itself.

At that moment, the sound of water "huā lā lā" could be heard from the cat's room—it was in the middle of cleaning itself.

"Hey, you spirit cat! This time, I'm sure to impress you. Come and taste my cooking!" Rojen called out, pushing open the bedroom door.

Instantly, the sound of the cat's panic echoed.

"Meow!!"

The cat glared at Rojen in embarrassment, as if it wanted to claw him to pieces.

"Oh, you're shy now? How amusing!"

"You're just a cat! How can you be shy? Hā hā!"

Rojen laughed heartily, holding the plate as he strode toward the cat.

"Meow!"

Glaring at Rojen in annoyance, the cat waved its paw and pulled the curtain shut.

After a while, the cat stepped out, its expression slightly aloof.

However, the embarrassment in its eyes was still evident.

"Come and try this braised fish I just made!"

Rojen smugly set down the plate, lifted the aluminum cover, and immediately, a fragrant aroma filled the air.

The cat's mouth watered instantly, and it eagerly pounced forward with its paw.

"Smack!" Rojen tapped the cat's paw and then said seriously,

"Napkin, and use a fork!"

"Meow!"

The cat glared at Rojen, then quickly tied its napkin, picked up a fork, and began eating the braised fish like a little adult.

With just one bite, the cat's eyes lit up.

"Meow! Meow! Meow!"

It seemed to be saying it was delicious, and Rojen immediately burst into laughter.

"This system isn't just for fighting! It seems my previous thinking was too narrow!"

There were so many spirits out there, each with their own unique skills. If used properly, Rojen could become a jack-of-all-trades.

He could easily obtain knowledge of any kind through spirits and the system.

"This cheat is truly remarkable, practically a game-changer!"

Rojen's smile widened.

Some low-cost but highly useful spirits for daily life had been overlooked by Rojen before. These special skills didn't cost much but could greatly enrich his life, offering incredible value for money.

With the addition of the cat, [The Logan] became much more lively.

And so, time passed slowly. In the blink of an eye, two weeks went by.

During these two weeks, [The Logan] had been sailing continuously. Rojen didn't know where Rouge's island was located. He only knew from his previous life that the island was called Baterilla Island and was situated in South Blue.

Now that he had entered South Blue, he was close to Rouge, but there was still one step left.

"I need to find an island and get a map of South Blue's islands. Otherwise, who knows how long this will take."

Standing at the bow of the ship, gazing at the sea, Rojen's expression was deep.

"Before that, I need to fill my coffers as much as possible."

100 Million wasn't too little, and a Billion wasn't too much. With money, he could become unmatched.

"Meow." At that moment, the cat walked over with light steps, seemingly hearing Rojen's mutterings, and pointed with its paw.

Rojen was stunned, then realized what it meant.

This cat was magical. It could understand human speech, and aside from its physical form, it was practically no different from a person.

"Are you saying there's an island in this direction?"

"Meow!"

The cat nodded affirmatively, lifting its head proudly as if to say, "Praise me, praise me!"
