STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Chapter 147: Video Evidence

Wilderness:

Jeremy is seeing huge trucks moving in a straight path forward. His gaze condenses as he tries to see where they are heading.

As he observes their movements, he notices that the first truck comes to a halt before an empty plot, causing his eyes to flicker.

Under his gaze, he sees the massive plot split open into two. The next second, a massive ramp appears above.

Then the truck begins to move and enters the ramp, which goes down below.

When Jeremy Night sees this scene, his eyes flash with a quick gleam. He is looking for the Mighty Order's hideout, and now he thinks he has found one.

Before his eyes, the other trucks move forward to enter the facility below. Jeremy then turns on his shoulder video recorder and starts to record everything.

Dean Carolyn wanted evidence to prove that illegal activity is going on. He thinks this video evidence is enough for an accusation, but he doesn't know whether the higher-ups are really willing to confront the Mighty Order.

This illegal organization is not an easy one. Jeremy really wants to know what's going on in that underground facility.

But he fears there might be a presence of higher-tier Beast Tamers in that facility. How could such a secluded facility not have someone to protect it? Jeremy's eyes show hesitation.

He is just a Tier-1 Beast Tamer. Jeremy thinks there is no need to confront them right now. Since he has this video proof, it will further stop them from engaging in any illegal activities.

Even if they can't be uprooted, their activities near City C in Zone 14 will be reduced. After gaining some clarity, Jeremy checks the video footage again.

The video clearly shows the scenes of massive trucks entering the facility. These trucks have a square logo that is half gold and half red.

After turning off the camera, Jeremy turns around to leave.

Meanwhile,

Manager Salvatore wouldn't have thought that someone saw their facility and recorded it on video. He is busy completing the operations here.

Even if Jeremy didn't take any action, he was going to leave the city soon. Their work near City C is nearly done. For them, there is nothing left to explore here.

Unless a new wave of corrupted beasts comes in and settles down near the City C base. They won't come here.

Time passes.

An hour before the morning sunrise, Jeremy returns to the Night Family Mansion. Without alerting his parents, he goes to his room. Before entering the city, he had changed into different attire.

Jeremy then removes his tuxedo and goes to take a bath.

Thirty minutes later,

He changes into comfortable clothes. He has already stored the combat items in the storage ring. Now he carries his katana sheathed in the scabbard.

After placing it on the table next to the bed, he lies down to sleep.

...

The following day,

Ron and Nora Night wake up early. They learn from their Guard Captain that their son returned early in the morning.

They know their son Jeremy must be asleep, so they don't wake him. Instead, they start their discussion over morning tea.

It's about the jewel stones that allowed Jeremy to evolve his rank because of the natural energy stored in one of the stones.

Ron Night is surprised when he first hears about it. But after thinking about Jeremy's unknown egg-lifeline beast, he believes everything is possible.

Nora Night has been trying to find out about the special gem stones. As long as they can get their hands on these special gemstones, the burden on their son will be reduced.

Time passes.

Ron Night leaves the mansion after having breakfast. He doesn't know his son has done a great thing to save City C. Nora, too, thinks her son is only here for a mission.

Time passes.

At past noon, Jeremy wakes up from his sleep. He checks the time before getting out of bed and plans to return to City A by evening.

He wants to submit the video evidence to Dean Carolyn, so he starts to get ready.

About an hour later,

Jeremy walks out of his room wearing casual clothes: a white plain T-shirt and blue jeans. He also wears a black mask to cover his face.

The only distinct feature is the scabbard hanging at his waist.

Jeremy comes to the main hall and sees his mother. After greeting her, he sits on the sofa opposite her and tells her his intentions about leaving today.

"Is your mission over?" Nora asks.

"Yes, mother. It's time for me to leave," Jeremy replies.

Nora wants her son to stay for a few more days, but she knows it's impossible. There is a time limit for missions, and her son has to return first to submit the report.

Then she makes a video call to her husband, Ron Night. When the call connects, the trio has a brief family discussion about the separation.

Jeremy assures them that he will be safe. After having the chat, he leaves home.

About 20 minutes later,

The flying air car drops him at the airport. It's the Night Family's vehicle with a raven symbol. The people and passersby immediately recognize it.

Jeremy bids farewell to the Night Family Guard Captain before walking into the airport.

This time, most of them see him walking out of the Night Family's Vehicle. The only young person who could do that is none other than Jeremy Night, son of their City Governor, Ron Night.

Inside the airport, people try to get closer to see him. Unfortunately, the nearby authorities arrive on time to stop them.

Jeremy goes to the counter to buy tickets. Even he is surprised by this much attention and popularity. He was popular before.

But after the awakening of A-Grade Talent and his performance back at the university, his status here has elevated.

Jeremy can sense that, but all of this is nothing when real danger comes. He then goes to board the flight.
