Strange Paths to Immortality

Chapter 103: Chapter 104: New Mysteries Unfold

The group lay sprawled across the floating platform, their chests heaving with exhaustion. The only sound was the faint, lingering hum of the crystal - key in Chen Jiuzhang's hand. He stared at the key, its surface now smooth and pulsating with a gentle, white light, a stark contrast to the dark, menacing glow it once held.Su Nian was the first to break the silence. "Is it... really over?" she croaked, her voice raw from shouting and the strain of battle. She gingerly touched the gash on her forehead, wincing at the pain.Zhang Chengying let out a weak laugh. "For now, I guess. But I have a feeling this was just the tip of the iceberg in this crazy secret realm." He pushed himself up onto his elbows, his body protesting with every movement.Luna, her starlight - woven gown still glowing softly, walked over to them. Her eyes were filled with a mixture of relief and concern. "We should tend to our wounds before we move on. There's no telling what else awaits us."Lyra nodded in agreement, but her gaze was fixed on the now - sealed sky. "I can sense that the balance of this area has been restored, but... I feel a strange pull from deeper within the realm. As if something even more powerful is calling out to us."As Luna began to use her starlight magic to heal their injuries, Chen Jiuzhang's attention was drawn to a faint, glowing pattern on the platform's surface. It had been hidden beneath the rubble and debris from the battle, but now it was slowly becoming more visible. He pushed himself up and walked over, crouching down to get a better look. The pattern was a complex map, etched into the platform with lines of golden light. It depicted various landmarks and strange symbols that Chen Jiuzhang had never seen before. But what caught his eye the most was a large, glowing dot in the center of the map, surrounded by a ring of smaller dots."Guys, you need to see this," he called out, his voice filled with excitement. The others gathered around, their injuries momentarily forgotten. "What is it?" Su Nian asked, leaning in."I think it's a map," Chen Jiuzhang replied. "And I have a feeling that the large dot in the center is the heart of the Gui Xu Secret Realm. The place we've been trying to reach all along."Zhang Chengying studied the map intently. "But what about these smaller dots? Are they more challenges like the one we just faced?"Lyra traced her finger over one of the symbols. "I'm not sure, but I can sense that they're connected to powerful sources of energy. We should be prepared for anything."Just then, the crystal - key in Chen Jiuzhang's hand began to vibrate. A beam of light shot out from the key, hitting one of the smaller dots on the map. The dot began to glow brighter, and a portal slowly materialized in front of them.A cold, eerie wind blew out from the portal, carrying with it the faint whispers of ancient voices. "Well," Chen Jiuzhang said, looking at his friends. "I guess our next destination has been chosen for us. Are you all ready to face whatever lies beyond?"The group exchanged determined glances. Despite their exhaustion and the unknown dangers that awaited them, they knew they couldn't turn back now. With a final nod, they stepped through the portal, ready to uncover the next layer of secrets hidden within the Gui Xu Secret Realm.
