Staying Alive Cautiously in the Celestial Realm and Becoming the Strongest

Chapter 905: Only Mediocrity Escapes Jealousy (Part 2)

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three muffled sounds rang out in succession.

The first sound came from the fists of a burly new student aimed at Wang Chen, but they didn't hit Wang Chen's head or face,

blocked by Wang Chen's raised right arm.

The second and third sounds were from the legs kicked out by two people from behind, Wang Chen met leg with leg, directly clashing!

"Ah!"

Screams followed immediately!

The burly new student was the strongest, but at that moment, he felt his fists were almost no match for his own, as though he was smashing against arms of steel, the rebounding force traveling through his tough calluses and penetrating into his flesh and bones.

He even heard the sound of bones cracking.

The shock in the burly student's heart was indescribable.

Since childhood, he had been practicing the family's Barbaric Bear Technique, his iron palms honed over many years to possess the strength to break anything effortlessly.

This Second Order peak new student had even sparred with a senior Third Order martial master, enduring a hundred moves before being defeated.

He thought he could turn Wang Chen's pretty face into a mess with one move.

But his prized brute strength had actually been outdone by Wang Chen!

This name of the burly new student still had better luck than the latter two, who got thrown out simultaneously, one's left leg and the other's right leg bent at completely abnormal angles.

The cries of pain were from those two!

In a flash, the three newcomers looking for trouble were routed.

Before the burly new student could react, a tremendous force hit his abdomen, and like a heavy bear, he followed his companions, flying out of the door.

He heavily fell onto the hard stone ground outside.

"Ah!"

The burly new student, who prided himself on being tough, rolled several times, clutching his stomach and screaming loudly, large beads of sweat appearing on his forehead.

He felt his intestines might have been kicked apart by Wang Chen, the intense pain mixed with terror almost made him lose control on the spot.

Such a commotion inevitably caught the attention of other new students.

Many apprentice Blood Cloak Guards came out from their rooms, looking in surprise at the three men lying and groaning on the ground.

Iron Furnace Camp had good facilities, each new student had their own private room.

Soon, Chief Instructor Wan, referred to as "Yama" behind his back by the students, arrived hurriedly with a few martial masters.

Upon seeing the scene, the Chief Instructor's white eyebrows furrowed, and he asked in a deep voice, "What happened?"

Although he had not witnessed the entire event, who was he to not understand the tricks among the new students?

Therefore, he immediately targeted Wang Chen.

Wang Chen answered leisurely, "These three came looking for trouble, and I threw them out."

"No, it's not like that."

A new student with an injured foot hurriedly shouted, "It was Ling Zhiyuan, he hit us first!"

There were rules in Iron Furnace Camp against new students fighting privately, or else they would be punished.

But while rules were rules, in reality, anyone who complained to the instructors after losing a fight would be despised and ostracized by everyone, and their reputation would be ruined, bringing shame to their family!

The instructors turned a blind eye to the overt and covert struggles among the new students, as long as they weren't too outrageous.

The three burly new students had precisely gambled on this point when they sought out Wang Chen.

However, trying to throw the blame on Wang Chen only resulted in others laughing at them.

The reason was simple, Wang Chen was at the doorway of his quarters; these three men lay in front of his door—wasn't it clear who was at fault?

If he dared to be responsible, everyone would have looked at him highly.

Since he acted so shamelessly and irresponsibly, nobody could blame others for despising him!

The burly leader of the new recruits, despite seething with hatred, still endured the intense pain and gasped, "Report to the instructor, it was my fault. I am willing to accept the punishment!"

"Very good."

Chief Instructor Wang waved his hand and said, "Take them down for treatment first, then throw them into solitary confinement for reflection."

The faces of all the new recruits changed drastically.

The solitary confinement room was undoubtedly the most terrifying place in Iron Furnace Camp. It was a prison specifically for those who committed offenses—cramped and pitch-black, where one could easily descend into madness if they stayed too long.

Worse than cruel torture!

Among the trainee Blood Cloak Guards, some had already tasted the horrors of solitary confinement and were terrified at the recollection!

As the three new recruits were being dragged away by the instructors, more and more onlookers gathered.

These weren't just trainee Blood Cloak Guards; many were new recruits from the Patrol and Arrest Office, City Guard Army, and others.

Though all served Great Liang, the rivalries between the different power factions had not ceased for hundreds of years, with some even becoming sworn enemies.

There were plenty who disliked the Blood Cloak Guards!

These trainee Patrol and Arrest Officers and trainee soldiers, upon seeing the misfortune of the trainee Blood Cloak Guards, could not help but revel in schadenfreude, even pointing and laughing maliciously.

After all, they were still fresh recruits; once everyone became official Patrol Officers and soldiers, they'd understand the difference in ranks and wouldn't dare openly mock the Blood Cloak Guards anymore.

Now the trainee Blood Cloak Guards felt utterly humiliated, and some of them even blamed Wang Chen, casting hostile glances at him.

One of them had an especially resentful look.

Wang Chen keenly sensed the malicious grievance coming from him and glanced back at the person.

This trainee Blood Cloak Guard was Jin Yingjie.

The three who had just been dragged away by the instructors were his underlings, a fact well-known to the new recruits, hence he naturally felt he had lost face.

If they didn't blame Wang Chen, who else could they blame?

But Wang Chen didn't consider such characters worth his attention and turned around, planning to return to his room to bathe.

Mediocrity incurs no jealousy—such glances couldn't harm him in the slightest.

"Ling Zhiyuan, come with me."

Suddenly, Chief Instructor Wang called Wang Chen back, "I have something to tell you."

Under the peculiar gaze of many onlookers, Wang Chen followed Chief Instructor Wang to the training room.

The white-haired chief instructor asked Wang Chen to sit down first, then circled around him and said, "Tall trees face strong winds, you have been drawing much attention lately, making it difficult for this old man!"

Though he sounded complaining, his words were still filled with appreciation and admiration.

In his decades as Chief Instructor, he had never seen another trainee Blood Cloak Guard as outstanding as Wang Chen!

Wang Chen spread his hands, "What do you think I should do then?"

Chief Instructor Wang chuckled, "You should work harder, completely suppress everyone else, and leave them with nothing to say."

After a pause, he continued, "Starting tomorrow night, come to the training room and I will provide you personal guidance."

This was clear favoritism!

Wang Chen quickly stood up and bowed, "Thank you for your great favor, Chief Instructor!"

Chief Instructor Wang waved his hand, "This is the opportunity you deserve. It's time for the Blood Cloak Guards to produce a true talent."

"I just hope, I will never regret today's decision!"
