Starting with the Decade Driver, Messing with School Beauty

Chapter 55 - Pausing the Entire World and Breaking the Balance

“Um…”

Qing Mu’s words instantly dashed Wan Sheng’s hopes and crushed them completely. It was a stark reminder that they might share the same Rider power, but they were in entirely different leagues. While Qing Mu had the game-breaking Decade Drive, Wan Sheng was stuck with FaizDrive, a world apart in terms of capabilities. All he could do was envy.

Gu Yu, who had been composed and aloof just moments ago, now transformed into a mad scientist, eagerly grabbing Qing Mu and making his plea:

“Qing Mu, can you lend yourself to my research? I’m incredibly interested in the power you just displayed. If I could gather data from your body, perhaps I could develop potent enhancement transformation tools. Please, please! I beg you…”

Gu Yu’s fervor and madness made Qing Mu shiver with fear. He responded, “Professor Gu, please, don’t be like this. I’m scared! I feel like you’re going to dissect me and study me like in those science fiction movies. It’s impossible. I absolutely won’t agree to being your research subject.”

Faced with Gu Yu’s burning and frenzied gaze, Qing Mu firmly declined. After all, there were limits to what he was willing to endure. Allowing Si Mu to study him was already pushing the boundaries. There was no way he would let Gu Yu research him further. What would he become if he agreed to that?

“Is there no room for negotiation at all? If you have any conditions, please state them. I’ll do my best to fulfill them. Don’t be so ruthless; let’s discuss it. Let’s talk it out. Tell me what you want, and I can provide it for you,” Gu Yu pleaded desperately, turning into Qing Mu’s lapdog. He looked so pitiful that Qing Mu, Wan Sheng, and Lin Qianqian all found it cringe-worthy.

Qing Mu took several steps back, creating some distance between him and Gu Yu. He said, “Professor Gu, if you keep this up, I’ll have to run away. I can’t stand it when you act like this. I really can’t.”

Who could endure another man begging them like a lapdog? Qing Mu had already shown considerable restraint in not reacting violently. Otherwise, he would have treated Gu Yu to a deluxe twelve-hit combo.

Gu Yu, who had seen an opportunity, was now overly excited. Seeing that Qing Mu was getting a little angry, he realized he had overstepped his bounds and quickly reined in his behavior.

“Sorry, sorry, I got too excited. It’s not every day you come across such an excellent experimental subject. I couldn’t contain my excitement. I hope you can forgive me, don’t take it personally, hehehe,” Gu Yu awkwardly laughed.

Regardless, his main priority was to placate Qing Mu for now.

As long as they didn’t clash with Qing Mu, there would be more opportunities in the future.

“Alright, we’ve dealt with these Worms. Let’s go and get back to business,” Qing Mu said as he deactivated his Rider cards and reverted to his human form. Despite the minor interruption caused by the Worms, he was determined to focus on their main mission.

The other three also deactivated their transformations and returned to the car. Wan Sheng took the wheel, and they continued their journey.

Lin Qianqian made a call to the Yancheng Defense Base to request assistance with the aftermath of the battle. The road had been damaged during the fight, and it needed repairs.

Gu Yu, on the other hand, couldn’t take his eyes off Qing Mu during the car ride. His gaze was unsettling, like that of a pervert staring at an undressed girl. Even Lin Qianqian couldn’t bear to watch Gu Yu’s behavior any longer, so she gently reminded him, causing Gu Yu to tone down his actions.

Compared to Qing Mu’s recent display of power, the Blay Buckle and Rouse Cards that had excited Gu Yu earlier now seemed insignificant.

The rest of the journey went smoothly, and the vehicle eventually arrived at a massive and heavily guarded base in the outskirts.

“We’ve arrived. This is the headquarters of our Yancheng Defense Base. Qing Mu, since it’s your first time here, you’re an unfamiliar face. To avoid any trouble, please don’t wander around or do anything that could be easily misunderstood by others. Can you promise that?” Lin Qianqian earnestly requested.

With Qing Mu’s abilities, if he clashed with the guards at the Yancheng Defense Base, it wouldn’t be him who suffered. Lin Qianqian understood this very well. Her request was primarily for the well-being of the other people at the base.

Qing Mu smiled and gave Lin Qianqian an assuring look. “Don’t worry, I’m not an unreasonable person. I won’t cause trouble or act in a way that would raise suspicions. I won’t go off on my own or separate from your group.”

Knowing that Qing Mu agreed, Lin Qianqian felt slightly relieved. She was aware that Qing Mu had become their benefactor, and she didn’t want any unnecessary conflicts.

Based on their interactions over the past few days, Lin Qianqian had come to understand that Qing Mu was not difficult to get along with. As long as they didn’t provoke him for no reason, he wouldn’t do anything excessive. At most, he might forcefully take someone’s abilities or powers, which was unsettling but didn’t cause any real harm to the person affected.

After exiting the car, Qing Mu followed the lead of the others and continued walking towards their destination.

They proceeded to the core area of the base. The base was exceptionally large, and it took them over twenty minutes to reach their destination—an expansive laboratory.

Qing Mu wasn’t a scientist, so he couldn’t understand the purpose of the various equipment and experiments in the lab. However, he couldn’t help but feel curious and explored the area, occasionally reaching out to touch things out of curiosity.

Gu Yu introduced the laboratory to Qing Mu, “This is my personal exclusive laboratory where I usually work. Everything here is the result of my hard work. How does it look to you?”

Qing Mu replied, “I don’t understand what these things are, but they seem impressive.”

Gu Yu then urged Qing Mu to take out his Blay Buckle and Rouse Cards for analysis. He assured Qing Mu that he would be rewarded fairly for his cooperation. Qing Mu retrieved the items and handed them to Gu Yu.

Gu Yu carefully examined the Blay Buckle and the Ace of Spades Rouse Cards, feeling their textures and inspecting them closely. He marveled at the intricate design and advanced technology in the Blay Buckle. He was especially intrigued by the Ace of Spades Rouse Cards, as its material and construction baffled him.

Gu Yu commented, “This Drive seems to have a sophisticated design and contains advanced technological elements. However, what truly captivates me is this Rouse Cards with the Ace of Spades. Its material is incredibly unique, and I can’t immediately discern how it was manufactured. It’s no wonder it can be used to seal monsters. This technology is indeed something extraordinary.”

As a true genius scientist, Gu Yu found nothing more exciting than encountering something he had never seen before.

Qing Mu, uninterested in the technical details, replied casually, “You can take your time to examine them. I’m not too concerned about the technical aspects. Just let me know the price when you’re done.”

Gu Yu placed the items in a device that would analyze their internal structure and material composition. Curiously, he asked Qing Mu, “By the way, Qing Mu, do you only have this one Rouse Cards, or do you have others as well?”

Qing Mu replied, “I have a few more Rouse Cards on me, but those come at a separate price. If you’re interested, I can sell them to you separately.”

During his battles with Arwen and Arwu, Qing Mu had also obtained the Rouse Cards they possessed. This meant that he now had access to all the cards from both the Spades and Clubs categories.

Lin Qianqian was momentarily stunned by Qing Mu’s revelation, and she followed up with a question, “You have other Rouse Cards? Why didn’t you mention it earlier? If we get hold of these cards, it means we could immediately have another immensely powerful Kamen Rider on our side.”

Qing Mu shrugged, looking innocent, “I didn’t hide it intentionally; you just didn’t ask. But I need to make it clear that if you want to buy some of these cards, I can sell them to you. However, some of these cards have highly unique abilities that could disrupt the balance of this world, so I must keep them in my possession.”

For example, cards like the Spades Ten, Time Scarab Rouse Cards, were not for sale. This card had time-related abilities, and if it fell into the wrong hands, it could cause significant trouble. Qing Mu had to keep it under his control, even though he already had the Muteki Gamer form card that granted immunity to time manipulation.

Similarly, the Clubs Ten, Mole Rouse Cards, fell into the same category. This card had the power to release and control sealed monsters according to the user’s will, which could lead to chaos if misused.

As for other Rouse Cards, most of them were straightforward power boosters or attribute enhancers and posed no significant risk if sold.

“Influence the world’s balance? Qing Mu, what kind of peculiar things do you have in your possession? It’s hard to believe,” Lin Qianqian remarked, finding it difficult to comprehend what kind of power could disrupt the world’s balance to such an extent.

With her current knowledge, the only thing that seemed capable of affecting the world’s balance was the burst of golden light exhibited by Qing Mu during combat.

“For instance, how about the ability to put the entire world on pause? Do you think that kind of power might affect the world’s balance?” Qing Mu’s words raised further questions for Lin Qianqian.

“Pause the world? What do you mean?”

While Lin Qianqian considered herself reasonably intelligent, she found it challenging to wrap her head around Qing Mu’s explanation. Gu Yu, on the other hand, seemed to be pondering Qing Mu’s words, deep in thought.

“Pause the world? Does that mean everything stops functioning and enters a state of suspension?”

Although his guess wasn’t entirely accurate, it was getting closer to the real answer.

“Alright, let’s not dwell on it. You can’t truly imagine it without seeing it firsthand. Focus on your own tasks, and if you need me, just let me know. I’ll take a quick nap for now,” Qing Mu concluded, signaling his desire to end the conversation with the group.

Continuing onward, he was apprehensive that the hearts of these three individuals might not endure it.

Upon concluding his statement, he gently closed his eyes.

A serene reprieve ensued.

Wan Sheng, the chauffeur, sensing no immediate urgency, departed solo, heading toward the infirmary to receive medical attention.

He had just endured a brutal onslaught by three arachnid-like Worms, and his injuries were far from inconsequential.

Yet he persevered relentlessly.

Lin Qianqian, drawing near to Gu Yu’s side, observed his work with curiosity.

She exhibited a profound interest in Blay Buckle and Rouse Cards.

Meanwhile, Gu Yu meticulously scrutinized and deciphered the various data and information detected by the instruments.

Unbeknownst to them, nearly an hour had elapsed.

Gu Yu had finally managed to preliminarily decode the two items.

“All done! Qing Mu, after reviewing them, I can confidently say that both the Blay Buckle and the Rouse Cards can be replicated. With our current technology, we can mass-produce these two items just like any other Knight Drive and transformation tool. These items hold immense value for us. If possible, I’m willing to submit an application to acquire them for five billion.”

… … …

Five billion for Qing Mu’s Blay Buckle and Black Spade A Rouse Cards.

This deal seemed like an incredibly lucrative opportunity for Yancheng Defense Base.

Qing Mu opened his eyes.

“Agreed, five billion it is, but that’s only for the Blay Buckle and the Black Spade A card.”

After all, these two items were acquired with minimal effort.

He hadn’t invested much thought into them.

Sell as many as you can.

It was a profitable venture.

In reality, Qing Mu’s asking price was flexible. As long as the other party was willing to offer a reasonable sum, he would sell.

These items served him little purpose, and he preferred to sell them for some extra spending money.

The current sale for five billion had far exceeded his initial expectations.

Upon hearing Gu Yu’s opening bid of five billion, Lin Qianqian couldn’t help but display a somewhat exasperated expression.

How could he set the price so high right from the start?

Wasn’t this an indication of the high value of the Blay Buckle and Rouse Cards for Yancheng Defense Base?

What if Qing Mu decided to raise the price further?

Five billion, a staggering figure.

Even as Miss Lin, she found it quite steep.

However, she hadn’t anticipated Qing Mu’s agreeable response.
Gu Yu said it, and that’s how it was going to be, with no intention of raising the price.

This left Lin Qianqian somewhat astonished.

Qing Mu rose from his seat and approached the instruments. He gazed at the two items inside and remarked, “I already possess its power, and these two items are of no use to me whatsoever. Although I understand that their value exceeds this amount, I don’t care. Sell them for whatever price you want.”

“Indeed, you’ve successfully replicated the power of this Knight Drive.” Though Lin Qianqian had suspected this all along, hearing Qing Mu admit it in person still felt like a shock to her system.

Fortunately, this time, the power wasn’t something Lin Qianqian had handed over to Qing Mu voluntarily. Otherwise, she would have felt even more uncomfortable.

“Qing Mu, I’ve heard that you can replicate the powers of other Kamen Riders, and I just witnessed it myself. But I’m curious about the underlying principle. Especially when it comes to the Faiz Drive’s power—it’s not something just anyone can use. Not only can you use it, but you can also overcome its effects without harm. It makes me wonder if you’re really just an ordinary human.”

Once again, Gu Yu locked eyes with Qing Mu, seeking a precise answer from him. From the very beginning, upon hearing of Qing Mu’s reputation, Gu Yu had harbored doubts about whether Qing Mu was truly human. Both the Decade Drive he possessed and his unique abilities didn’t seem typical of a regular person. If Qing Mu turned out to be a member of a special race or some kind of extraordinary being, it would make more sense.

Qing Mu hadn’t expected that one day his human identity would be questioned. He responded awkwardly, “I am indeed just an ordinary human. I can assure you of that. My medical records from childhood to adulthood are all normal, and you can verify that in my files.”

“True,” Lin Qianqian nodded.

There was no need for Qing Mu to say it; Yancheng Defense Base had thoroughly investigated Qing Mu’s background and records. However extraordinary his abilities might seem, all the evidence pointed to him being a human, and not some disguised creature.
