Chapter 226: Chapter 224
In the castle bathhouse, the steam filled the air, limiting visibility to just three or four meters.
Lucas lay languidly in the bathing pool, resting his arms behind his head. He was contemplating Mina's gaze before she left and Nicole's unusual behavior today. All of this made him feel a bit of anticipation.
Some people think a lot and plan ahead, rather than acting impulsively. Lucas, for instance, always had his plans set many steps ahead. He was already considering what it would be like to have children decades into the future.
"Ugh… What's going on? I'm a noble now. At this rate, how could my descendants possibly squander everything?"
He wiped the steam off his face and chuckled, "But if anyone dares to waste their inheritance, they'll be sent to mine for a year."
The saying goes that wealth doesn't last beyond three generations, but Lucas's vision was far broader. He aspired to create a family legacy that could last for a thousand years.
A family hidden in the shadows, one that could manipulate the world—perhaps that was Lucas's true ambition, or at least his direction. If he was going to leave descendants in this world, it was only right for him as a father to do something significant.
"Ugh…"
Suddenly, Lucas snapped back to reality, shaking his head with a wry smile and sighing, "What's with me today? I'm worrying about things that haven't even happened yet, and children don't just appear out of nowhere. Seriously…"
Alright! In truth, Lucas was a bit nervous. This was his first experience in life, after all.
"Splash…"
Lucas rose, dried himself off, slipped into his sleep robe, and donned his coat before stepping out of the bathhouse and heading toward his room.
At the door, he spotted Mina standing outside with her head bowed, hesitating about whether to come in.
"Cough, cough, cough…" Lucas cleared his throat, causing Mina to jump in surprise. She turned to him, her face instantly turning red.
"Young master!" Mina's soft voice rang out, her head nearly buried in her chest.
"Come in," Lucas said gently, taking Mina's hand and pushing the door open as they both entered.
Mina kept her head lowered the entire time. Although she was encouraged by Nicole to come here, there was a flicker of hope in her heart as well. Just like the wish she had made an hour ago, she longed to become Lucas's wife and to have a daughter with him.
Inside the room, only a small candle flickered, casting soft shadows as Lucas and Mina stood facing each other, the atmosphere growing somewhat intimate.
"Mina!" Lucas called softly, reaching out to tuck a stray lock of hair behind her ear. He gazed at Mina's flushed face, his own breath becoming a bit heavier.
"Mm!" Mina let out a lazy sound from her nose, instantly causing Lucas's heart to skip a beat as his head slowly leaned closer to her...
The room was silent, only the flickering candlelight danced. The closer he got, the more Lucas felt he could hear Mina's breathing and heartbeat.
As he approached, Mina closed her eyes, a blush appeared on her cheeks, and her eyelashes and cat ears trembled nervously. Her hands anxiously clutched the corners of her clothing.
Lucas caught a faint fragrance emanating from Mina's body and gently kissed her lips, the soft touch pulling him into a state of bliss.
The two embraced tightly, and at that moment, all sounds were unnecessary; only their breathing was the best form of expression.
They then fell onto the bed together, the soft quilt covering them as their clothes flew off one by one, accompanied by a muffled 'hum.' A girl and a boy disappeared from the world...
"Does it hurt?"
"A little... Young master, it's okay... Mmm... don't, don't grab my tail..."
"I'll be gentle..."
...a thousand unspoken words were skipped...
...
"Hey, hey! Ayesha, you're being unreasonable again. Put down the cards!" Annie sat cross-legged on Nicole's bed, pointing at Ayesha, who was once again taking back her card. "This is the third time you've taken back a card!"
"Really?" Ayesha calmly collected her cards and threw out an even smaller one.
"Seriously…" Annie felt a bit helpless; the big cow was just too slow at playing cards.
"Hahaha… I'll bet!" Helen, holding Hazel in her arms, placed a card down on top.
"You two are such fools! King!" Annie grinned as she played her trump card.
"No way!" The other two shook their heads.
"Then I win!" Annie laid down a series of consecutive cards. The other two had let her get away with too many single cards before.
"Seriously, how did I lose again?" Ayesha pouted, her purple eyes wide with reluctance as she handed over a lollipop to Annie.
Helen also sighed as she surrendered a lollipop, realizing that this was the fifth round they had lost.
"Come on, let me play a bit." Nicole walked over, drying her hair, and gently patted Ayesha's shoulder. "Ayesha, if you keep playing, you'll run out of lollipops."
"Alright!" Ayesha reluctantly handed over her remaining two lollipops.
"Where's Mina?" Helen turned her head to look around. She desperately needed someone to take her place, or she would lose even Hazel's lollipops.
"She went to discuss something with the young master," Nicole said quickly, her eyes flickering. "Alright, let's get started! Deal the cards!"
"Damn it." Annie wasn't foolish; after noticing Nicole and Mina's unusual behavior today, she figured something was up.
"Mina made her own choice," Nicole said softly, not hiding anything. "The next person who needs to make a choice is you, Annie."
"I…" Annie frowned, a hint of pink rising to her cheeks. She bit her lip and said, "Didn't I already make a choice long ago?"
"The final choice represents what? You know very well, don't you? The young master has already given you plenty of time." Nicole began to deal the cards.
"I understand, it's just that…" Annie's face turned red, and she couldn't continue.
"Sedona City needs a little young master or little mistress, or everyone will start to worry..." Nicole's face turned red, and she couldn't continue.
No matter the size of a power, it needs an heir; without an heir, some of the subordinates may become restless. This was one of the reasons Nicole was encouraging Mina.
"..." Helen covered her face. If she didn't understand what the two were talking about at first, she certainly did now.
"What are you all talking about?"
Ayesha tilted her head, looking confused. Were they all blushing because they ate too much hot pot?
