Starting from Prototype to Immortality

Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Humanity's Wrath!

Chapter 40: Humanity's Wrath!

Some Predators fired plasma shoulder cannons in all directions.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Sparks flew as shockwaves and explosions obliterated some of the Blacklight Virus microorganisms. However, their numbers seemed infinite. These losses were but a drop in the ocean, as they could rapidly assimilate biomass like nanomachines to proliferate endlessly.

In other words, as long as there was enough biomass, their numbers would only increase.

One Predator accidentally blasted the ground with its cannon, causing even itself to be flung into the air.

However, the Blacklight Virus microorganisms clung to their targets like maggots on rotting flesh. No matter what methods the Predators used or how they struggled, their masks scanned repeatedly, yet they still couldn't locate the invisible enemy.

The devouring speed of the microorganisms was too fast. The Predators had barely any time to think, let alone devise countermeasures, before they were entirely consumed.

Although the Predators had roamed the universe for countless years, facing many invisible dangers like the Blacklight Virus, they couldn't have anticipated this particular threat. Even if they had, it wasn't possible to have countermeasures ready at all times.

Thus, once Chang Wei launched his attack, their fate was sealed.

It didn't matter how battle-hardened these warriors were or how many terrifying monsters they had defeated in the past—it was meaningless.

In most worlds, microscopic-level attacks were invincible.

This invisible killer made the Predators experience for the first time what it felt like to face an enemy that was also unseen.

They had never imagined they would one day die at the hands of an invisible foe, never even glimpsing what was attacking them.

Fear and unwillingness filled the eyes of every Predator as they died with their eyes open.

The Predator Elder was no exception. It opened its massive mouth, its mandibles twitching in rage as it tried to find the hidden assassin lurking in the shadows.

But it was all in vain. Its strength, capable of single-handedly clearing out several Xenomorph hives, was utterly useless here.

Nearby, an elite Predator fired its net gun, while others deployed laser grids like those used to seal sewer systems.

These efforts did kill some Blacklight Virus microorganisms, but ultimately, all of them were reduced to skeletons. Even the skeletons didn't remain for long.

Chang Wei halted his assault after devouring all the Predators and most of the Xenomorphs. Of course, he spared the humans.

After assimilating the Xenomorph Queen, Chang Wei gained the ability to command Xenomorphs.

However, with nearly ten Xenomorph Queens on Earth, he could only control a portion of them.

That was enough. He commanded the Xenomorphs to attack humanity without regard for their own lives!

Time was running out, and Chang Wei needed to harvest more biomass as quickly as possible.

Although he had easily wiped out the Predators and seized their spaceship, he also learned from the Predator Elder's memories that such a situation would trigger a "Purge."

A Purge typically occurred when a situation spiraled completely out of control.

An additional Xenomorph planet was simply too much trouble for the Predators. One was already more than enough.

The Purge didn't aim to exterminate all life on Earth, but the death of a Predator Elder and so many elite Predators would attract countless more elite Predators, Elders, ancient Elders, and even female Predators.

Even though Chang Wei was confident in his ability to ambush and defeat these incoming Predators, no power or life form was truly invincible.

Once his capabilities were fully understood, his weaknesses could easily be exploited.

Even a virus as powerful as Jenova, capable of consuming planets, met its demise.

The Imperial Blacklight Virus was still far from that level. Even if Chang Wei created a Blacklight-nuclear Godzilla, it couldn't defeat Predators capable of annihilating planets.

A head-on confrontation was the most foolish choice—high risk, low reward.

Chang Wei planned to harvest one last round of Xenomorph gene points and then escape to another hunting ground in the universe using the Predator spaceship.

Delaying further could prove fatal.

Under Chang Wei's orders, the Xenomorphs launched a relentless assault on humanity. A tidal wave of Xenomorphs surged forward. With humanity already severely weakened, they had no choice but to resort to hydrogen bombs and other nuclear weapons to scour the planet's surface.

"Fellow humans, humanity will not perish. The Lord will protect us!"

"Today is the last day of human history, but our civilization will live on forever. Uraaa!"

"The old era will be destroyed, but the dawn of a new human era will always come!"

"On this planet, nothing can defeat humanity!"

As hydrogen bombs and nuclear missiles soared into the sky, all of humanity burst into tears—some from fear, others from rage.

Let those monsters witness the wrath of humanity!
