Starting from Prototype to Immortality

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Schemes

Chapter 38: Schemes

A whaling ship sailed across the ocean and suddenly crashed into a piece of land.

The commotion startled many creatures. While most fled in fear, the noise attracted the attention of local humans, who came to investigate.

What they encountered were thousands upon thousands of facehuggers swarming off the whaling ship, pouncing on them.

By the time the Yautja (Predator) ship arrived on Earth, their scans detected millions of Xenomorphs covering the surface of the planet.

However, humanity had not been exterminated by the Xenomorphs.

Although Xenomorphs were often glorified as fearsome creatures capable of conquering the skies and the underground, and of gaining the traits of whatever host they parasitized, they were no match for humanity.

As Chang Wei put it: humans are the most powerful, the apex predators at the top of the food chain. They suppress all defiance, and everything else either gets eliminated or is trampled underfoot.

The Xenomorphs' supposedly terrifying traits—impenetrable exoskeletons, the immense strength of the Xenomorph Queen, and their corrosive acid blood—were no match for humanity when pushed to the brink. If humanity unleashed all of its forbidden weapons, it might survive, but the Xenomorphs would undoubtedly be wiped out.

The Yautja Elder took a single glance at the situation and dismissed it. What it truly sought was its prey. However, when it arrived at the location where the Lone Wolf's signal had been transmitted, it found nothing but ruins—now a Xenomorph hive.

Unperturbed, the Elder dispatched a few subordinates to slaughter the Xenomorphs. Unfortunately, neither the Yautja-Xenomorph (Predalien) hybrid nor the formidable prey that had killed the Lone Wolf were found.

But that didn't matter. Patience was something the Yautja Warriors had in abundance. In fact, the current situation aligned perfectly with the Elder's intentions.

Finding the prey too easily would take away the thrill; facing a weak opponent would diminish the excitement.

It had been a long time since the Elder felt its blood boil. This long-lost feeling stirred waves of excitement within it.

With a single command, the Yautja Elder sent all the warriors aboard the ship to the surface. Their task: eliminate all Xenomorphs and witnesses. Was the number of witnesses too high?

No problem. The Yautja ship carried a weapon capable of sinking entire continents with a single blast. By reducing the output slightly, they could scour the surface clean.

"Let's see, a total of ten Elite Yautja and a bunch of Blooded warriors—what tribe of Yautja is this?"

High above, Chang Wei observed the scene through the sky, using trillions of microscopic Blacklight Virus microorganisms as surveillance. The moment the Yautja appeared, the light- and heat-sensitive microorganisms locked onto them. The stealthy Yautja ship was soon covered by a layer of Blacklight Virus microorganisms.

Chang Wei was cautious, knowing that Yautja technology far surpassed human imagination and comprehension. Capable of traversing wormholes and hunting across the galaxy, their range of activity was incomprehensibly vast.

The idea that alien civilizations capable of interstellar travel could be taken down by Earth's primitive computer viruses, bacteria, or nuclear weapons was utterly laughable. Such civilizations already possessed two terrifying foundational advancements:

Materials Science: Their materials far outclassed human capabilities.

Energy Science: Their mastery of energy systems was leagues ahead of humanity.

These two fields were the bedrock of human civilization's current achievements. If their foundations were stronger than humanity's, there was no way humans could compete. It was akin to a Stone Age chieftain trying to defeat a Galactic Empire army equipped with mechs—utterly absurd.

Moreover, through his settings and the Lone Wolf's memories, Chang Wei had learned more about the Yautja. This only made him more cautious.

Chang Wei had seen too many examples of people growing arrogant after gaining power, only to meet their downfall. Thus, even though he possessed both the super virus system and the terrifying Imperial Blacklight Virus, he wouldn't be foolish enough to confront the Yautja head-on.

"Good, it seems they haven't activated their energy shields…"

The Blacklight Virus microorganisms covering the Yautja ship had gone unnoticed, which was a promising sign.

The Yautja who disembarked also failed to notice the Blacklight Virus microorganisms surrounding them and spreading across their bodies. While their masks' filters blocked the microorganisms from entering through the air, the virus could still invade through their skin pores.

Rather than attacking the Yautja warriors one by one, which would be slow and risk alerting them, Chang Wei planned to take them all down in one decisive move.

As for the Yautja Elder, Chang Wei decided to save it for last. He wanted to test its strength.

"Now that I think about it, I really do seem like a villain…"

Lost in thought, Chang Wei maintained his disguised inorganic state, remaining undetectable to the Yautja. He leisurely enjoyed an ice cream while watching the three-way battle he had orchestrated between the Yautja, Xenomorphs, and humans.

Meanwhile, the Blacklight Virus microorganisms accelerated the decomposition of dead organisms, consuming and breaking them down at tens of thousands of times the natural rate. The benefit? Chang Wei could passively accumulate genetic points without lifting a finger.

There was no need for him to engage in combat personally, nor did he need the hunters to intervene.
