Chapter 467: Traveling with Lady Ehuang and Nu Ying
Li Mo stepped out for a bit.
Went into the Imperial Palace.
And didn’t return until the next morning.
When he came back, he found Lady Ehuang, Nu Ying, and the Heibai sisters still around.
They were hanging out in the Moon Goddess and Fei Yan’s courtyard, looking ready to spring into action at any moment.
Now they knew the situation: Donghuang Taiyi was dead, and the Yin-Yang School was currently run by these two sisters.
But rather than saying they were in control, it was more accurate to say it had fallen into Li Mo’s hands.
After all, whatever happened, these two listened to him.
Upon returning, Li Mo didn’t bother with them, letting them loiter about as they pleased.
With such a huge mountain courtyard, they weren’t going to run out of food.
“How do you feel today?”
Li Mo approached Uya.
Before him, someone had already been there.
Duanmu Rong had withdrawn her hand from diagnosing Uya’s pulse and placed her arm back under the blanket.
With a calm expression, she said, “It’s still the same; the evil aura is getting stronger by the day. If we don’t get the Fire Spirit Grass soon, I fear that even the bundle of jade slips won’t ease her suffering any longer.”
In fact, Uya could clearly feel her body deteriorating day by day.
She was now curled up under the covers, feeling icy all over.
Only by clinging tightly to the jade slips could she feel a bit better.
But as Duanmu Rong also pointed out, the jade slips could only ease her pain for a few more days at most.
As time passed, the slips would be less effective, until eventually, they would become completely useless.
“Has there been any news from the farmers?”
Duanmu Rong stood up, just about to pour herself a glass of water, when a cup filled with tea was suddenly presented to her.
Duanmu Rong paused momentarily, then calmly accepted it.
“Thank you,” she said to Li Mo.
After handing her the water, Li Mo replied, “I’ve already sent people over; they’re looking into it.”
Then, glancing at Uya’s pallid face, he asked, “How are you feeling?”
Uya trembled slightly, biting her lip as she looked at him. “Could… could you also pour me a glass of water?”
“Of course.”
Li Mo smiled, not finding anything strange about it.
If she could still talk, that meant her situation was better than he had feared.
After leaving Uya, Li Mo went straight back to the Main Courtyard, addressing Jing Ni: “Help me pack a few clothes.”
“Sure.”
Jing Ni nodded decisively, not even bothering to ask why, and handed Xiao Yan’er over to Yan Lingji and Hong Liang.
“You’re going out?”
The two instantly turned into curious kittens, eagerly questioning.
Li Mo nodded. “Yeah.”
“Where to?”
“Uya’s condition is getting more serious; I’m going to take a trip to the farmers.”
At this declaration, the eyes of the two brightened immediately.
Li Mo, sensing their intentions, quashed their fantasies directly: “I’m not taking you; stay home.”
Hong Liang’s expression dropped into a pout, on the verge of tears.
“Why not? I haven’t gone out in ages!”
Li Mo maintained his calm tone. “I’m not going for fun; it’s important business, and I’ll be back soon.”
Uya’s current state couldn’t last much longer, so it made more sense for him to go personally and reduce her suffering.
“The farmers aren’t that easy to deal with; they’re numerous, and there’s the Twenty-Four Earth Vortex Formation. I can’t afford to be distracted with you two tagging along.”
One was too playful, the other too stubborn.
When they got carried away, there was no stopping them.
Plus, each of them was a hazard.
Li Mo naturally wouldn’t take them along.
“Fei Yan is still in seclusion; do you want me to accompany you?”
Jing Ni asked, getting Li Mo’s things ready.
Li Mo thought for a moment, then rejected that as well.
“Maybe you should stay home and watch the kids.”
It wasn’t due to Jing Ni’s lack of ability.
It was simply that someone needed to be at home as a steady presence.
Fei Yan was in seclusion, the Moon Goddess was always by her side, and Li Wu often had to go to the military camp.
Besides, Li Mo didn’t want Jing Ni, who was already a mother, to pick up a sword again.
“Alright, then you be careful.”
Jing Ni handed over the package without saying a word.
Unlike the noisy duo next to them who were rolling their eyes and fussing around him, she was a paragon of calm.
Just then, the Moon Goddess led a few people in.
As soon as she entered, she said, “Let those four accompany you; they’re just idling around here anyway.”
Following her were, of course, Lady Ehuang, Nu Ying, and the Heibai sisters.
Having a pair of twin sisters travel together was already a stroke of fortune.
One shudders to think what it would be like with two pairs of gorgeous twins!
Li Mo felt it wasn’t a big deal at all.
Three whole days passed, and they had barely spoken a few words.
He still conversed the most with Nu Ying.
Talking to her was the easiest.
Nu Ying was much gentler than Lady Ehuang.
Lady Ehuang, as the older sister, was cold and aloof, and couldn’t stand Nu Ying getting close to Li Mo.
Her attention was constantly on Nu Ying.
As if she were scared Li Mo would do something to her little sister.
Even if something did happen, it would just be between him and her sister—why the heck was she so worried?
In addition to these two pairs of twins, there was also the Great Priestess, now serving as Li Mo’s exclusive vehicle driver!
The night had fallen, and they were not far from the farmers.
The group stopped to rest in a clearing among the woods.
As soon as the campfire was lit, a shadow suddenly appeared before Li Mo, like a ghostly apparition.
