Chapter 147: The Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Training

Trunks curiously scanned his surroundings. Before long, Gohan noticed a moving lump of pitch-black coal.

"Who are you people? How did you find this place?" Mr. Popo had heard the commotion and looked over, his eyes landing on the familiar face of Gohan. "Goku…"

"No, wait—you're Mr. Goku's son, aren't you? You look a bit like him!" Popo examined Gohan closely.

Because all the warriors had perished so suddenly, a generational gap had formed. Gohan didn't recognize Mr. Popo, and Popo didn't recognize either Gohan or Trunks.

"The Kami is already dead… that battle…" Popo's eyes welled up with tears as he recalled the past, lost in his grief.

"You're… Mr. Popo?" Gohan seemed to remember something and suddenly realized.

Back when Vegeta had first appeared—

When his father was injured and hospitalized—

He had met Mr. Popo then!

Popo had flown in on a flying carpet and appeared at the hospital window, scaring the daylights out of young Gohan.

"Enough with the sadness. I'll find you a new Kami when I have time," Lin Qi glanced at Popo, somewhat speechless. "Is the Hyperbolic Time Chamber still usable?"

"What's that?" Trunks felt like his brain couldn't keep up ever since Lin Qi showed up—too much new information.

"I heard that in that place, one year inside is only a day outside!" Gohan patiently explained to Trunks.

"I was really young when I heard my dad talk about it. He said staying in there too long could drive you crazy!"

Trunks' eyes widened in amazement. "A place like that really exists? That's insane!"

Mr. Popo forced himself out of his grief and managed a smile that looked worse than crying.

"Even though Kami is dead… the Hyperbolic Time Chamber still works. But only two people can enter at a time!"

"So… who's going in first?" Popo asked as he wiped the tears from his eyes and looked at the three of them.

"All three of us will enter together," Lin Qi said calmly. Honestly, this whole "only two people at a time, and only for two days" rule? That was all something Mr. Popo made up. The Time Chamber itself never said any such thing. Just look at how many times Goku went in there!

During the Majin Buu arc, Piccolo even chose the Hyperbolic Time Chamber as the final battleground.

The Old Kai had told Goku before that energy didn't disappear—it was fighting in another dimension!

And considering the Old Kai had once been the highest-level deity in the universe, his knowledge far surpassed Mr. Popo's. That's not even up for debate.

So, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber was clearly a different dimension entirely, not governed by regular space-time. Lin Qi figured it was a naturally formed pocket dimension.

It was only by chance that someone discovered this secret, and they built the chamber's entrance there to make use of it.

Same deal as the seven Dragon Balls on Namek—legend says they were crafted using a shard of a Super Dragon Ball by an ancient Namekian.

Same logic. Though this line of thought might be veering off track a bit...

Gohan clenched his fists and said to Trunks with determination, "Trunks, let's train inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber!"

"Yeah! We'll build power even stronger than the androids!" Trunks also clenched his fists and shouted.

"Then follow me—Goku's son, the purple-haired kid, and you, young man," said Mr. Popo, who didn't seem to know any of their names and just called them however he saw fit.

Realizing they hadn't introduced themselves, Gohan quickly said, "Mr. Popo, my name's Gohan, this is Trunks, and he's—"

"Lin Qi," Lin Qi interrupted calmly, then followed Popo's lead.

Popo didn't seem to mind. He walked ahead, and the three of them soon arrived at the entrance to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

"I heard Dad trained here once too…" Gohan said with a trace of awe as the door slowly opened.

Looking at the vast white expanse inside, Trunks was stunned. He glanced back at the hallway behind them. "It feels like an entirely different world…"

"The space inside the Time Chamber is larger than Earth itself. Daytime temperatures can reach 50°C, and nighttime lows drop to nearly -40°C!"

"The gravity in there is also different from outside—it's ten times heavier…"

Before Popo could finish explaining, Lin Qi had already stepped into the chamber and closed the door behind him.

Enough with the babbling—did Popo really think he needed to be told all this? Lin Qi knew way more about the Time Chamber than Popo ever could.

"There's food over there… all white flour stuff!" Trunks was already exploring the interior.

But Gohan's expression had turned serious as he looked toward Lin Qi. "Please… train me using the harshest methods you've got!"

"Me too!" Trunks ran over to Gohan's side, fists clenched to show his resolve.

Outside the chamber, Popo hadn't left yet. Instead, he broke into a wide, joyful smile. "Lord Kami… Earth has hope again!"

"Alright, stop gawking. It's all just white. Get to training!" Lin Qi called out to the two, who were still marveling at their surroundings.

"Yeah, we have to make every second count. The longer we delay, the more people the androids will kill!" Gohan nodded, rushing to stand in front of Lin Qi.

"Trunks, stay off to the side for now. I'll train Gohan first," Lin Qi gestured for Trunks to wait.

Soon, Lin Qi and Gohan began their training duel.

"You've got some decent combat experience," Lin Qi observed as they exchanged blows.

When Gohan threw a weak, soft kick his way, Lin Qi calmly said, "Use your full strength. You can't hurt me anyway."

"Haaah!" Gohan powered up into Super Saiyan and lunged toward Lin Qi again.

"Super Saiyan, huh?" Lin Qi sidestepped Gohan's punch and countered with a blow to his stomach.

The impact sent Gohan flying backward instantly.

"Get angry! The power of Super Saiyan isn't just about hatred—remember that, Gohan!" Lin Qi charged in again.

Amid a flurry of punches and kicks, Lin Qi's real training began.

Time passed silently. Eventually, Trunks joined the training as well.

But compared to Gohan, Trunks's combat power was a bit lacking, so Lin Qi had to go easier on him.

"When you dodge, hide your energy, Trunks!"

"Time your attacks right… If all you do is run, how are you going to defeat the androids?"

"No matter the situation, you need to stay calm. If you don't go all out, the androids will kill you in an instant…"

"Too weak!!" Lin Qi suddenly appeared behind Trunks and sent him flying with a single punch!
