Chapter 190: Upgrading Nyra to One Star General grade
"There is still no clue about the proficiency above level 5," Ram muttered as he browsed through the skills and talents displayed on his screen.
Despite his recent upgrades or when he had accumulated more than forty thousand points of spiritual power, there was no sign of a "+" mark next to his immortal techniques after they reached their maximum level.
"It must require something more," he mused, "or perhaps unknown conditions need to be fulfilled. Maybe it'll become clearer once I reach Tier 4."
Scrolling further, his eyes landed on the locked skills. "It won't be long—just a few more days, and I'll..." He trailed off, refocusing his thoughts.
"But my current priority now should be..."
Ram leaned back, pondering his ever-growing list of tasks. Each was significant, but none were simple.
Such as upgrading Korrin to Tier 4, regrowing a new Heart Wood Tree, upgrading other Wood Spirits, concentrating on building more defensive or offensive territory building, expanding his space Sylvan Soul Kingdom, dealing with the Blood Hawk Gang, and exploring the Red River Domain.
First, three, whether upgrading Korrin or other Wood Spirits or regrowing a new Heartwood Tree, require large amounts of Life energy, which takes some time to accumulate.
However, there is another alternative to improving Korrin: letting him fight more and earning Evolution points.
To do so, he needs to fight a large number of strong enemies, which can be done by either facing the Blood Hawk Gang or entering the Red River Domain again.
And here's the problem, there are strong enemies at Tier 5 that he needs to be wary of.
Expanding the space also requires him to concur C grade or above Void Space and collect Void Crystals.
"Not a single one of these tasks is easy, but not impossible," Ram admitted. Still, he began drafting a basic plan, allocating priorities to each task.
Step by step, as he improved himself and gained more power, he would finish them head-on.
The most pressing matter now was how to deal with the Blood Hawk Gang. After what they did to Sid, Ram couldn't stay quiet anymore. Though he lacked the strength to face Shane directly, causing trouble for the gang wasn't beyond his reach.
While harassing them, he could also let Korrin and the other Half-Drows fight. With Korrin's innate talent, [Species Evolution Master], they could earn evolution points and grow stronger.
Quickly, Ram opened Korrin's attribute panel and carefully reviewed it for any changes since the last time:
[ Name: Fire Mage Leader - Korrin (Mutant Half-Drow)]
[ Race: Wood Spirit (Half-Drow)]

Post-Battle Evolution Chance: After battles, there's a 35% chance that Korrin or nearby subordinates will gain evolution points, enabling them to overcome species limits, gain stat boosts, or learn new skills.]
Compared to the last check, Korrin's experience had increased by an additional 3% thanks to his battles with the Giant Warrior and Sharpshooter in the subway station. His attributes also saw slight improvements. Stay updated through empire
However, the real point was not just Korrin. The other Half-Drows who fought alongside him also experienced varying degrees of improvement. Ram didn't need to focus much on them for now, but there was still Nyra.
With her [Battle Mage Potential], Nyra had always been on Ram's list for quality upgrades. He'd been planning to raise her to General grade for a long time but hadn't found the right moment.
He checked his own attributes again:
[Health]: 1000/1000 (+1433)
[Spiritual Power]: 1000/1000 (+2256)
Looking at the more than two thousand points of spiritual power, Ram felt it should be enough to upgrade Nyra's quality before launching his harassment plans against the Blood Hawk Gang.
With Nyra's skills and the shadow hunters among the Half-Drows following her, masking their movements and gathering intelligence would become much easier.
"It's time to move," he murmured, finalizing his plans.
Ram immediately reached out to Nyra, who was lounging around inside the space. Lately, she had been spending her days teaching the cavemen basic manners and common sense, turning it into her daily routine.
When Ram called her through their mental link, it didn't take long for her to respond. Nyra rushed over, her excitement evident as she quickly appeared before him.
"What's up, Master? Need my help for something?" she asked eagerly, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.
Ram nodded and smiled. "Yes, I called you because I plan to upgrade your quality. It's long overdue, it should be the right time for it."
Hearing this, Nyra's face lit up even more, a mix of pride and enthusiasm showing in her expression. "Finally! I've been waiting for this! So, what do I need to do?"
"Nothing much," Ram replied calmly. "Just sit still and let me handle everything. This will take a bit of time, but once it's done, you'll feel the difference."
Nyra grinned and sat cross-legged, ready and brimming with anticipation. "Let's do this. I'm ready."
Ram steadied himself, focusing on his spiritual power within, and started to infuse it into Nyra's body.
As Ram continued infusing spiritual power into Nyra, her body began to react visibly.
Her cheeks flushed slightly, and her breathing quickened, though she didn't say anything about it.
Ram, too focused on maintaining a steady flow of energy, didn't notice these subtle changes and patiently channeled more spiritual power.
Nyra's body absorbed the energy at an increasing rate, her aura growing stronger with each passing moment. Curious, Ram opened her attribute panel mid-process to monitor her progress:
[ Name: Nyra]
[ Race: Wood Spirit (Half-Drow)]
[ Level: Silver (26%)]
[ Quality: Rare]
[ Attribute: Fire/Shadow/Wood]
[ Physique: 29.1]
[ Spirit: 32.7]
[ Racial Characteristics:

[Herd Mentality (Advanced)]: In groups, gains an additional 0.5% bonus to agility and attack speed for every ally nearby, with the maximum bonus increased to 30%. Additionally, spiritual power and spell power grow stronger when surrounded by allies.
[Aggressive Fervor]: In battle, the subject enters a heightened state of aggression. When health falls below 50%, physical attacks gain 20% bonus damage and spell abilities gain a 15% bonus to effectiveness.
[Rapid Reproduction]: Increase reproduction rate and growth rate by an additional 100%.
[Wood Spirit Body (mid)]: Increase the maximum health by 170% and recovery speed by 30%, while granting wood affinity and boosting the Wood based skill effects by an additional 50%.]
[Skills: Fire/Shadow Affinity, Fire Ball, Shadow Bind, Quick Step...]
The process took over an hour. Nyra absorbed 1,400 points of spiritual power, a larger amount than Ram had initially anticipated. Finally, a faint glow enveloped her, signaling the completion of her upgrade.
Her quality shifted from Rare to One-Star General Grade, a massive leap in her potential as her body was wrapped in a light cocoon made up of spiritual power.
But it didn't take long, her body quickly evolved adjusting to her new power as she tore through the cocoon.
Compared to before, there were not many noticeable physical changes, she looked as beautiful as before, with a slightly more mature look than before.
However, whether it's her attributes, Racial characteristics, or skills they were all improved to varying degrees, not much lower than Korrin's.
"She absorbed more spiritual power than I expected," Ram thought, observing Nyra closely as she flexed her hands, examining her body and the surge of power coursing through her veins.
"I feel incredible," Nyra said, her voice filled with awe. "My strength, my senses... everything feels sharper, stronger." She looked at Ram with a bright smile. "Thanks, boss. I'll make sure this power isn't wasted."
Ram gave her a slight nod. "You'll need it. Get ready—we have work to do soon."
He immediately opened her attribute panel again to check for new changes, looking through the attributes he also found why it took more spiritual power than he initially expected.
It's all caused by the Racial Characteristics [Wood Spirit Body (Mid)] that evolved from Mid to High.
