Chapter 778: It’s Actually Her
Li Xiaofei's entire body was a bloody mess. His flesh was mangled and his bones almost entirely shattered into powder-like fragments. If he had not been a cosmic-level lifeform, he would likely have died tens of thousands of times from such extreme physical torture.
Li Xiaofei did not respond to Han Sui's mocking tone at all. However, a thought involuntarily surfaced in his mind.Who was that blind woman?
After being sent to the treatment room and being healed, Li Xiaofei was granted a brief moment of rest. But less than an hour later, he was brought back to the interrogation room.
Seated behind the major case desk, Han Sui asked, "The method you used to conceal Earth No. 1818 is almost identical to the technique used to hide another base planet in the past. What is your relationship with that blind woman?"
Li Xiaofei's heart stirred. The formation technique he had used to conceal Earth No. 1818 had been passed down to him by his aunt. The Earth he came from had once been hidden using his aunt's magical powers.
Could it be...A conclusion suddenly emerged in his mind.
"The blind woman you're talking about, who is she?" Li Xiaofei asked.
"You don't know?" Han Sui smiled faintly and deliberately revealed, "I thought you were one of her people. She's a Profound Woman who defected from Heaven. She was hunted down when she stole something she shouldn't have. She once appeared in Chongque City in another case. Unfortunately, I didn't know her identity at the time, and she escaped during interrogation... You're very similar to her."
Li Xiaofei pondered for a moment and felt that what Han Sui said sounded more and more like his aunt.
"I want to know everything about her," he said as he looked at Han Sui. "Then, I might consider telling you the coordinates of Earth No. 1818."
Han Sui crossed his arms and leaned back into the chair, saying, "You are in no position to negotiate with me."
Li Xiaofei flexed, forcing his hands to gently strain outward.
Ding.
The specially-made handcuffs, which were enough to strike fear into countless high-level cosmic beings, now seemed as fragile as a blade of grass in Li Xiaofei's hands. They snapped apart instantly.
Li Xiaofei reached out.
Pa!
He slapped Han Sui squarely across the face. Han Sui was completely stunned. His reaction was not much better than that of Ryūyama Nagashi, who had suffered the same fate before. They had all believed that the handcuffs were enough to completely restrain Li Xiaofei.
Moreover, during the previous torture sessions, even when his physical body was repeatedly pushed to the brink of destruction, Li Xiaofei had shown no resistance, seemingly proving the absolute reliability of these special restraints. But now?
Damn it. Li Xiaofei was capable of breaking free the entire time. Yet he deliberately endured the beatings. What's wrong with him?!
Countless thoughts flashed through Han Sui's mind. But that didn't stop him from being slammed to the ground by Li Xiaofei's powerful slap.
All of his powerful energy, numerous combat techniques, and equipment were rendered useless. He had no time to activate any of them. Li Xiaofei had crippled Han Sui in one strike. Of course, the other Darksun Bureau enforcers in the interrogation room didn't fare any better.
Li Xiaofei stepped on Han Sui's forehead. "Now, am I qualified to negotiate with you?"
Han Sui's expression was worse than someone defecating in public.
"Even if you kill me, you won't escape Chongque City. You won't escape the pursuit of the Dark Prison," Han Sui spat out through gritted teeth.
"When was that blind woman subjected to interrogation?" Li Xiaofei asked.
Han Sui sneered and remained silent.
Li Xiaofei pointed at the torture devices around them and said, "Maybe you're not afraid of pain, but as the Director of the Darksun Bureau, your dignity will never recover once you've suffered this kind of punishment."
Han Sui's expression turned grim. At last, he said, "It was three hundred years ago."
Li Xiaofei felt a sense of relief. It was an incident from long ago. It might have even happened before his aunt had gone to that Earth. There was no need to worry too much.
Li Xiaofei then described his aunt's appearance and asked, "Was it her?"
Han Sui replied, "At the time, her face was intact, only her eyes were blind. I can't be completely sure."
Li Xiaofei asked a few more questions. He was now almost certain that it was indeed his aunt. If his guess was right, after suffering setbacks here, she had escaped from Chongque City and gone into hiding on his Earth.
For some unknown reason, Chongque City had failed to discover her presence and therefore hadn't dispatched significant forces to investigate or hunt her down on his planet.
"You see, you're not as tough as you imagined," Li Xiaofei said as he kicked Han Sui across the room. "You've interrogated so many people, but did it ever cross your mind that one day you'd be the one under interrogation, and you wouldn't even last a few minutes?"
Han Sui's face darkened. He opened his mouth and said, "I..."
Before he could finish—
Pu!
Li Xiaofei slapped him to death with a single palm. After all, anyone who had harmed his aunt must die.
Twenty minutes later.
"What... what exactly are you trying to do?!" Li Sheng, who had rushed over after hearing the news, was utterly shocked and on the verge of a breakdown.
He never imagined in his wildest dreams that the Director of the Darksun Bureau would also be killed by Li Xiaofei, right inside the prison. If he hadn't seen Han Sui's corpse with his own eyes, Li Sheng would have thought he was trapped in some absurd nightmare.
How could something like this happen in Chongque City? How on earth had Li Xiaofei pulled this off?
Li Xiaofei shrugged and spread his hands innocently. He said, "It wasn't intentional. It was probably just an automatic reaction from the torture, like a knee-jerk reflex. They hit me too hard, and I couldn't help fighting back. Before I knew it... I accidentally killed them."
Knee-jerk reflex, my ass.
Li Sheng rubbed his disheveled hair in frustration and asked, "Then why haven't you tried to escape this time?"
Li Xiaofei replied, "I told you, I'm doing all of this to protect my family."
"You've already killed two directors from the Dark Division and you still expect me to believe that? You're practically on your way to getting your entire family executed!" Li Sheng was nearly spitting fire from fury.
Still, he managed to keep his tone relatively civil. Glancing at the new pair of handcuffs on Li Xiaofei's wrists, ones capable of restraining even half-step Black Hole–level experts, Li Sheng finally relaxed a little. He said, "Brother, the one coming to interrogate you next is the scariest director from the Dark Prison, Zhao Long of the Dark Dragon Bureau. If you..."
He was about to say, 'If you can kill him too, I'll truly be convinced,' but suddenly realized how terribly ominous that sounded. So he quickly spat three times to ward off bad luck.
At this point, the whole situation felt like a farce. The Dark Dragon Bureau soon took over the prison and the interrogation resumed.
Both the City Lord's Office and the Council were dead set on uncovering the whereabouts of Earth No. 1818. And as expected, the methods of the Dark Dragon Bureau were far more terrifying than those of the Darksun Bureau.
Li Xiaofei was soon left with only a single breath, teetering on the edge of death. After enduring a full day of torture, he was thrown back into his cell to recover slowly.
Night fell and the prison was silent. Li Xiaofei lay in a pool of blood, quietly sensing the changes in his body. At that moment, footsteps echoed and the cell door opened.
"You may leave," said a woman's voice.
The guards withdrew. Then, a woman slowly walked up to Li Xiaofei.
"You? Why are you here?" Li Xiaofei was genuinely surprised when he saw her face.
"I came to make a deal." The woman was extraordinarily beautiful, her every movement exuding a charm that could captivate hearts.
