Star Wars: Reforged Destiny

Chapter 9: Anakin meeting the Jedi council, Yoda joins the Mission

The Jedi Temple stood as a beacon of light on Coruscant, its spires piercing the skies and symbolizing the Order's millennia-long guardianship of peace. Anakin Skywalker, now clad in simple yet refined robes provided by Qui-Gon, entered the Council chamber alongside his mentor and Obi-Wan. Padmé remained outside, her frustration palpable after being left out of the political dealings surrounding her planet.

Inside, the legendary Jedi Council awaited. Twelve of the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy sat in a circular formation, their expressions a mix of curiosity, concern, and quiet authority.

Qui-Gon stepped forward, bowing respectfully. "Masters of the Council, I present Anakin Skywalker. His abilities in the Force are unparalleled. His midichlorian count is over thirty thousand, far beyond anything previously recorded."

Murmurs filled the chamber as the Jedi exchanged looks of disbelief.

"Impossible," Mace Windu muttered, his voice edged with skepticism.

Yoda's large, knowing eyes fixed on Anakin. "Powerful, this one is. But his age... too old, perhaps?"

Anakin stepped forward, his youthful face calm but with a spark of confidence that belied his years. "I'm only ten years old, Master Yoda."

Yoda's ears twitched as he looked up at the tall boy, who towered over most adults. "Ten, you say? A child, are you, yet large you stand. Human, are you truly?"

"Yes, Master Yoda," Anakin replied with a polite nod. "I've always been... different. When I was younger, I was taken by people who forced me into a dark ritual. It made me grow faster, stronger. It felt strange, but I've learned to control it."

He smiled, attempting to exude the naivety of a child. "It's not that bad now. The darkness—it doesn't scare me. I can use it without losing control."

The Council was visibly unsettled. Jedi teachings held that tampering with the dark side was dangerous, yet Anakin spoke of it as though it were an afterthought.

Yoda stroked his chin. "Control the darkness, you say. Dangerous, that path is. Difficult, to teach one who walks both sides."

Mace leaned forward, his eyes narrowing. "And what if this control fails? The consequences could be catastrophic."

Qui-Gon interrupted, his tone firm but respectful. "Masters, Anakin's connection to the Force is unlike anything we've encountered. I believe he is the Chosen One, the one foretold to bring balance to the Force. If we do not train him, the galaxy may suffer for it."

Yoda gazed at Anakin, his expression unreadable. Finally, he nodded. "Test him, we will. To Naboo, go with Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and myself. Prove yourself in the field, you must."

The Royal Starship hurtled through hyperspace, its sleek interior humming with the gentle rhythm of the hyperdrive. In a cleared section of the ship, Yoda observed Anakin as he practiced with a training saber.

"Focus, young Skywalker," Yoda instructed, his gnarled hands clasped behind his back.

Anakin nodded, his movements fluid and precise. The training saber whirred through the air as he performed a series of advanced sequences.

"Good form, you have," Yoda admitted, though his tone remained cautious. "But control your emotions, you must."

Anakin paused, lowering the saber. "Master Yoda, I can show you something else. Something I've been practicing."

Before Yoda could respond, Anakin extended his hand. A crackling surge of Force Lightning erupted from his fingers, striking a nearby training target. The bolts were precise, dissipating just before they caused any damage.

The Jedi around him tensed, but Yoda raised a hand to signal calm.

"Impressive, your control is," Yoda said, his voice heavy with thought. "Dangerous, such power can be. Yet restrained, you are."

Anakin smiled faintly. "I can also do this."

He closed his eyes, focusing intently. The air around him shimmered, and with a sudden ripple, Anakin disappeared.

"Space Fold, this technique is," Yoda said, astonishment creeping into his tone as Anakin reappeared several meters away. "Heard of it, I have. Seen it, never."

Anakin bowed slightly. "I want to learn everything, Master Yoda. Light, dark—it doesn't matter. I want to bring balance."

Yoda studied him for a long moment before speaking. "Much potential, you have. But much to learn, still. Careful, you must be, young one."

The ship emerged from hyperspace above Naboo, its serene green-and-blue surface a stark contrast to the tension brewing on board. Anakin stood by the viewport, his mind racing. This was his chance—not only to prove himself to the Jedi but also to help Padmé and her people.

As the group prepared to disembark, Anakin felt a growing resolve. The path ahead was uncertain, but he knew one thing for sure: he would rise to meet whatever challenges awaited him.
