Star Wars: CT-0292 Vaughn

Soon after I found myself upon a large tree, overlooking the newly created Separatist Base.

Anakin arrived last.

"I hope you're feeling better. Cause look what we found." Ahsoka said, handing Anakin a binocular.

"Heh, I'm getting stronger all the time, snips." Anakin said as he looked into the binocular.

"But I'm not sure if I'm ready for that." Anakin admitted after looking at the base.

Putting their conversation in the back of my mind I pressed the scan button once again.

This time it took longer as I had to specifically search for droids, or batteries.

The droids used a specific frequency to locate their droids, which we had long since managed to catch on to and we could now detect droids on small scanners.

My HUD then began counting how many independent frequencies were caught.

"Sir, I detect about 35 droids on the walls and outside the base, a further 200 droids deactivated or in formation inside." I said outloud.

"Hmm, so they have 35 Base Guards and a further 200 droids for offensives." Rex concluded.

"Likely meant for the Lurmen." Anakin said.

However I then noticed them moving.

"However, the formations are moving outside, I can also detect 3 medium-sized electric frequency, 2 of them match the frequency of AAT's but the second is similar but carry different weaponry." I told them, a mix of my own sight and radar.

"Apparently the Separatists have a new toy." Anakin concluded after visually confirming the new tank.

He then turned to Bly.

"See if you can get a closer look." Anakin said and Bly nodded.

"Yes, sir."

"I'll go with you, Commander." Rex said after Bly had confirmed the order.

And with that they began climbing down the tree and moving through the grass towards the tank.

Rex and Bly slowly moved closer, but in response 2 droids also ended up walking closer.

"They're preparing the cannon!" I exclaimed before pressing the forward button on the left on my control device, activating the comms.

"Commander! Get out of there, they're preparing to fire!" I said into it. Bly and Rex both began running back at the same time.

No less than 3 seconds later a large artillery shot was sent into the air.

Luckily, unlike the cannon Bly actually had time to set his ascension cable up for a shot and didn't miss, as such Aayla did not need to rescue him and he got up safely.

"That's some toy... It took out every living thing." Ahsoka said, looking at the destruction that weapon unleashed.

The entire grass-lands within a certain diameter of the contact was completely destroyed, grass, insects, animals, nothing survived.

That was when I noticed the droids beginning to move.

"Sir, the droids are heading towards the Lurmen Village." I told them.

"Those villagers won't stand a chance." Aayla concluded, a correct estimation of their fighting capabilities.

" First we'll take out the droids' communication station. After we get a shuttle, we'll go back and help them." Anakin stated as he turned to us.

"But Ter Watt Kaa said he doesn't need our help." Ahsoka said, but don't know why she does not want to help them. She's been arguing about that the entire time.

"There's a difference between pulling innocents into a war and leaving them to extinction." Anakin lectured Ahsoka.

And with that we began climbing down the tree and rotating around the droid forces.

I found myself in the tall grass, Lucky, Cameron and Hawk was with me.

Cameron was carrying a single DC15A.

He would be our sniper.

The attack plan was simple.

Ahsoka and Aayla would be pushing from the East side onto the base-walls and kill the guards there, Ahsoka would then open the doors for us and we'd push in.

I, Lucky and Cameron was tasked with securing the shuttle, while Hawk was to prepare for takeoff.

He'd spent most of his time on the ship, salvaging armory.

He was the one to give Cameron his DC15A.

Soon enough a droids walked into the tall grass and Anakin cut through him.

The 3 remaining droids went to check up on him but didn't last long.

After that I activated my heat-vision.

"Aayla is ontop, Ahsoka is about to open the door." I told Anakin as we leaned against the wall, waiting for Ahsoka to open the main door.

She came through and no less than 6 seconds later it opened.

I jumped over before aiming around me, checking for any droids.

I had my night-vision activated.

Rex, Bly and Anakin went off to deal with the command droid and the command centre.

Hawk was the last over as we began moving along the walls, heading for the shuttle.

When we reached the halfway mark, a 3 man patrol moved towards us.

I held my arm up in a closed palm, all 4 of us stopping.

I then pointing at Lucky and Hawk, and lastly myself.

Before making a crush motion.

And with that we moved behind them, I grabbed both ends of my DC15S before I put it around the lead droids neck, in a headlock before dragging him back.

As he ended up behind the 2 other droids I twisted his head off.

Hawk and Lucky performed similar motions while Cameron had his DC15A pointed at the droids in case anything went wrong.

And with that we moved on.

Soon enough I saw the Shuttle.

2 droids standing on either side of the open boarding ramp.

I cut the helmet open mic, making sure nobody heard me.

I connected my comms to the 3 others before talking.

"I'll deal with the two droids, Lucky, Cameron, each of you take one of those 2 shield generators. Hawk, start the shuttle up." I told them, while pointing at the 2 shield generators Infront of the shuttle.

I got a resounding nod from all 3 of them and we began moving.

I ran forward while aiming my DC15S.

I realised 2 shots upon the guard on the right, one in the head and another in the chest.

I turned to the second and shot at his rifle, rocketing it out of the droids arm.

The droid looked confused, however that didn't last for long as I held my DC15S in a baton hold and smashed it into the droids chin, throwing his head off his body.

I turned around to hear Hawk run into the shuttle behind me.

I also saw Lucky and Cameron activate the shield generators levetate device and began pushing them towards the shuttle.

"Hurry up!" I said into my helmet, however my helmet mic was still off so only those connected to my helmet heard it.

And with that the Jedi slowly closed in.

Ahsoka and Aayla came first, having deal with the droids on the walls, then came Bly, Rex and Anakin.

"Alright, let's get out of here." Anakin said as we all ran in. Hawk already ready to takeoff.

And with that we took off.

The Jedi and Bly went into the cockpit. However I was way too tired at this point. I had barely slept these last 24 hours. Close to 2 hours before attacking the base.

And as such I sat down in one of the chairs and put the OTS Harness, or Over-the-shoulder harness. The Star Wars equivalent of seat belts, however such technology was also used on roller coasters on Earth.

And with that I dozed of to sleep in a light sleep, heavy sleep in enemy territories or on a battlefield was not permitted.

Lucky and Cameron joined me, taking a quick Power Nap.

And soon after my eyes closed, don't know how but we clones fall asleep extremely quick, probably a genetic modification.

…

My eyes opened as I felt the ship stop and the officers exited the cockpit.

My eyes narrowed as I saw all of them have bags under their eyes, or specifically the Jedi. You couldn't see it on Rex and Bly due to their helmets but they without a doubt had the same problem.

Hawk was still inside, piloting us down.

"Alright, Lucky, Cameron. Wake up." I said as I removed the harness.

They were likely awake, up with the command from me they stood up.

We were all a bit rested, my HUD showing 3 hours from the base to the village.

Which meant I got 5 hours of sleep these last 24 hours, not a bad situation to be in. Not bad at all.

I moved to the shield generator and began testing it's durability, power, and other functions.

Bly and Rex sat down to rest while Lucky and Cameron joined us.

Meanwhile the Jedi had walked out to talk with the villagers.

About 3 minutes later they came back.

"Bly, we'll create a defensive permititer. We'll use the pods to form a shield wall within the shield generators radius, the generator will protect us from the tank while the pods shall provide attack positions against the CIS Forces." Anakin told him and he nodded.

Hawk had just returned from the cockpit.

"Cameron, Hawk. You two will use the pods as an overwatch position, put one or two forward so it allows you to put your guns through the shields." Bly ordered.

"Rex, Lucky and Vaughn. You three and I shall stand Infront of the pods in the early battle then retreat behind them." Bly said.

"We'll start by building the fortifications." Bly said, the Jedi was also listening and we were about to move out.

"Commander Bly." My voice rang out, and all turned to me.

"Yes, Vaughn?" He asked.

"Wouldn't it be more efficient to have Hawk utilise the Sheathipede, it losses 3 laser cannons and could perform as air-support." I told them, and with that the Jedi and Bly began thinking.

Before eyes turned to Hawk.

"Hmm, I can fly the Sheathipede into combat, I'll need to get a bit more used to it's weapons though." Hawk said.

"Good. Hawk, go get used to the weapons, the rest. Same duties, let's get a move on." Anakin said, and with that we began moving.

I, Lucky, Cameron and Rex managed to move a single pod together.

However the Jedi used the force to easily create a defensive position.

And as such in less than 2 hours, it was done.

Just in time for Cameron on Overwatch to spot the enemy tanks.

"Prepare the shield generators!" Anakin shouted.

I immediately ran towards the closest one and began pressing buttons, now I only needed to activate the thing by pressing the green buttons.

However I refrained from activating it, waiting for Anakin to give the signal.

Bly was with me.

I heard a whooshing sound and looked above me to find the artillery shell cutting through the sky.

"Power the generators!" I heard the shout from Anakin and I immediately pressed the remaining button.

The generator released blue particles into the sky.

Once they hit a certain height they began enveloping around us in a protective dome.

Just in time for the shell to hit it's appointed target before exploding into a fiery explosion followed by a ring of fire rushing towards the energy shield.

It destroyed all life it passed over, burning down trees and animals until the ring of fire found itself upon the shield.

The fire grew upwards, spreading to the lower half of the shield before slowly dying down.

The shield held, well that's good news…
