"Huh? Why the personal attack?" Stung, the few little dark ones' eyes turned red. "Although we are trash, you can't just say it so directly! Trash people need to save face, okay?"

Just as they were about to make a move, they heard Kaito ask: "You guys, you want to rob me, right?"

"...So what if we do?"

"Because that way, I can act in self-defense."

The few men exchanged glances. This guy wasn't an idiot, was he?

"Stop talking nonsense," the boss pulled out the handgun from his waistband, a scratched, battle-damaged Glock 17, and pointed the black muzzle at Kaito. "Hand over all your money!"

One minute later.

Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang… Intense gunshots echoed from somewhere in Brooklyn; the sound itself indicated a true successor of American Breathing, emptying a magazine in a second.

In the alley. Kaito stood with one hand in his pocket, the other raised, fingers splayed. His black trench coat billowed without wind, just a pair of sunglasses short of becoming Neo in The Matrix.

When the gunshots rang out, five thugs saw Kaito attempting to block bullets with his bare body, and the smiles on their faces gradually turned menacing. But as the bullets seemed to sink into mud, suspended in mid-air, their sneers, revealing their teeth, transformed into terror.

When Kaito left the alley, five bruised and battered gang members stood respectfully behind him, insisting on contributing all their loose change and phones, promising to be good people from now on and to sit at the kids' table for meals.

Unable to refuse, Kaito accepted everything. At least the activity funds and equipment for the next few days were all in place. At this time, the struggling Peter was still mopping the floor of a closed burger shop.

With the equipment, Kaito was no longer in the dark. Connecting to this world's internet, a wealth of information appeared before him. With several phones simultaneously searching, Kaito quickly browsed the local New York news.

As he delved deeper, he soon discovered that the epicenter of the Brooklyn earthquake was directly beneath a building called Fisk Tower. Seeing the owner's name, he was even more certain that he was on the right track. Kingpin.

His real name is Wilson Fisk, a Marvel supervillain, and one of the arch-enemies of Daredevil and Spider-Man. So, Kaito went to Hell's Kitchen on the west side of Manhattan, his spiritual power covering the entire district, but he couldn't find the Daredevil who loved the district so much.

Similarly, this New York City had no flashy Stark Tower, nor was there any news about the Avengers circulating online. Considering the MCU Peter, who also transmigrated, this world is likely a special stage for Spider-Heroes.

The scene returns to Brooklyn in the early morning.

Melody Cafe is located near the center of Brooklyn; although it cannot compare to Manhattan across the river, it is one of the most prosperous areas in the entire borough. Across the street from the cafe stands a towering commercial building, with a luxurious banquet hall on its top floor, its height far exceeding most surrounding buildings.

This is Kingpin's private property, the Fisk Tower, the New York underworld king. If a traditional Spider-Man were here, he would probably have already begun the entire investigation process of disguise, infiltration, combat, and stealing core secrets.

As a Superpower user with psychic abilities, Kaito's methods were far more convenient. Similar to his search for Daredevil last night, an invisible psychic power expanded across the city's sky, silently covering the entire building.

During this process, the busy ordinary employees in the building did not notice anything unusual. And from Kaito's perspective, there was nothing unusual in this building either.

The psychic's perspective extended downwards from the top-floor banquet hall. Offices of various departments came into view, and staff moved between floors, seizing every moment to earn every penny of profit for their boss.

Conversations, reprimands, arguments, curses, the clatter of high heels on marble, the rapid tapping of keyboards, and an indescribable… in a certain toilet cubicle. For a moment, all the scene information in the building, processed by the psychic power, was restored into sounds and images, clearly transmitted to his mind.

After a critical review, he gained a general understanding of Kingpin's business empire, financial status, and how many competitors he had dealt with yesterday, among other secrets. Kaito had to admit that for a company with an underworld background, these situations were all normal.

The epicenter was underground, so he continued downwards. The omnipresent psychic power extended downwards, passing through a dense concrete layer, and the world before him suddenly opened up.

The building's underground parking garage had been excavated all the way down to Brooklyn's former abandoned subway station, creating a massive experimental space beneath the city, covering an area comparable to four or five football fields.

In the huge cavity in front of the laboratory, a large particle collider had been secretly constructed, with two opposing emitters resembling large-caliber turrets; one could imagine the immense energy of the high-energy particle beams emitted from them!

The case was solved; the culprit interfering with space-time and causing the earthquake was undoubtedly this behemoth!

On one side of the space's ceiling was a central control room; through the control room's separation, hundreds of busy researchers sat in front of computers, typing on keyboards, working diligently. Leading them was a thin, frizzy-haired female doctor in a white lab coat, who was currently excitedly and passionately explaining something to a particularly strong, tall bald man.

As in the original work, everything above ground was a smoke screen to deceive people, and Dr. Genos next door would call it professional.

"Listen to me, boss, we are just one step away from success, yesterday's experiment…" Dr. Olivia "Liv" Octavius's passionate narration abruptly stopped, her gaze scanning left and right in confusion.

Kingpin's physique was unusually tall, but definitely not bloated; his custom-made black suit was completely filled out by his seemingly inflated, powerful muscles, and simply standing anywhere made him a bulletproof wall.

Noticing that the narration had stopped, he lowered his head slightly, his eyes coldly scanning around, following Dr. Octavius's gaze, and asked in a booming voice, "What happened, Doctor?"

"Emm…" Finding nothing unusual, the female version of Dr. Octopus frowned and withdrew her gaze, asking suspiciously, "Just now, did you feel… how should I put it, like you were wrapped in liquid?"

Hm? In the coffee shop, Kaito, who was monitoring everyone, couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

Dr. Octopus was actually able to vaguely perceive the existence of psychic power; as expected of a top scientist, although she didn't do good things, she was a genius far beyond ordinary people in some aspects.

If this were in the One-Punch Man World, she would probably mutate into a technology-based Monster in a matter of minutes.
