Chapter 403: Changing the future
"I can't believe I would forget a fight like that," Aaron said.
"You didn't have a choice. Even I was able to remember due to the fact that I had a stronger mind. Fragments of what happened remained in my mind, and as I pieced it together, I was able to remember," Silva said.
Amber's father walked to Silva. He placed his hand on Silva's shoulder, his eyes holding utmost respect. "Thank you. Thank you for saving my daughter. You kept your word to the end," the man said.
"I promised, so I had to do what I had to do," Silva said.
"So what's the best step now? What happened to the demon, and why is the tree dying?" Amber's father asked.
"The demon is dead, and I also took the power of the tree. The World Tree no longer exists; all its power entered into me.
I don't know how it happened. I was almost dying inside there, and then suddenly, somehow, I was able to survive and take all the divine energy," Silva said.
"So what does that mean for us now?" he asked.
"It means I can fix it all. It means I can finally change the whole narrative—the destruction, the death, and everything that you saw, Lilly. I can change that. I can merge this world back together and recreate all that was broken.
All the eight continents, all of them, will be freed from the demons' uncanny rule. I'll be able to restore balance one step at a time. We no longer have to worry about this world coming to an end," Silva said.
"I see. If you are the one saying it, then I'll believe in it," Amber's father said.
"You will do me a favor now, all of you. Stay in the empire from now on. This place will be where the renovation of this world takes place, and all of you will be safe here," Silva said.
"You plan to go alone?" Quin asked.
"Yes, that's the best way now. You all should stay and rebuild what I'll begin fixing. If I need any of you, I'll reach out, I promise.
But right now, what I want to do is something that only I can do," Silva said. He could see the reluctance in their eyes, but it was time he did something and did it properly. Now that he had the power, he was going to fix it all.
Silva transformed into his dragon. His mighty black scales now had a gold touch at the tips, his eyes glowed gold, and his scales had a shine to them.
He was far bigger than he was before, looking grand and filled with power. He flapped his wings and vanished in an instant. His speed was so fast that none of them could even follow it.
Silva flew into the sky, his sight so powerful that he could see the human empire from where he was. He locked in on his target and shot toward the castle.
A journey that would have taken several hours was going to be done in a few hours. Silva didn't know how long this goodbye was going to be, and as he came to this realization, he was already halfway through the flight and turned back to the elven empire.
When the others saw Silva return, they were shocked and confused. Silva transformed back into a human, landed on the ground, and ran to Amber. She was shocked but didn't move. Her shock increased as he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly, planting a kiss on her lips out of nowhere.
He let go of her, and she stood still, shocked at what happened. Dawn, Fay, and Lia watched with wide eyes. Silva walked away from the still-stunned Amber and hugged Fay next.
"When this is all over, we will have that sword practice again." He planted a kiss on her lips, but unlike Amber, who was still shocked, Fay went for more, grabbing him and pulling his head closer.
After she finally let him go, Silva took in a deep breath. He was the one that initiated it, yet his face was flushed.
"That's just the beginning. That kiss means you have to give me more when you return," she said. Silva nodded without hesitation. Whatever that was, he wanted more of it.
He walked up to Lia and looked her in the eye. "Lia, no matter how I look at it, I still see you as a—"
Before he could finish what he wanted to say, she jumped on him and kissed him as well. Silva's eyes opened wide in shock. She let go of him and took a step back with a smile on her face.
"I don't care what you see me as anymore. If you don't want to see me as a woman, I'll force you to see me as one. I'll make you," she said with a smile.
Silva didn't know what to say. He just stared at her, shocked for a while, and then broke into a smile. "Alright, do your best," he said.
As he walked to Dawn, she immediately spoke. "I don't want one. You don't get to die, so until you return alive, I'll not kiss you. So if you don't want to leave me hanging while I die, then come back to me soon," Dawn said.
Silva smiled at what she said and then turned to leave.
"Hey, what about us?" Jade and Serax asked.
Silva looked at them and shook his head. "You guys will still eat me raw. I'm not ready for that now."
Silva turned away to leave, but just when he took a step, he felt a hand pull on him. As he turned around, he was met with soft lips on his own. Lilly stood on her tiptoes and wrapped her hands around his neck.
She pulled away from him slowly, leaving Silva stunned. "That's for changing the future like you promised," she said and walked away.
