SSS Ranked Reincarnation: Dark Dragon Legacy

Chapter 401: Becoming a Demigod

"What are you doing?" the demon roared in rage. "I'm stopping you, stopping you from ever being a threat to those around me, stopping you from being a threat to their lives," Silva said with a smile. The cracks on his body shone even brighter as he channeled the power of the World Tree. He made sure that he pulled everything from the core into his body. He slowly pulled out his sword and held it, pointing it at the demon. The sword glowed heavily from the divine light. He cracked a final smile. The demon charged at Silva. He wanted to end this as fast as possible. He didn't want to allow Silva to do what he wanted to. He stretched out his hands as far as he could, trying to get a hold of Silva. Silva made a motion with his sword. The divine light flowed through it, and as the slash was finished, a massive light arc shot toward the demon. The arc cut the demon without any resistance, completely obliterating him. [You have leveled up, 5000 free stat points] The system called out immediately after he killed the demon. Silva smiled, knowing this would be the last time that he would hear that sound. He understood that if the World Tree continued to exist here, the demons would come for it, and their plan was no longer to simply create more races but for the complete re-fabrication of their world. Silva was not sure if his family would survive something like that. He didn't want to take that chance. He wanted to end the tree now and make sure that this world had no one that would be able to create or change it. "This might be my end. I didn't get to see all the things Lily saw, or the reason Quin woke his legacy so late. I didn't get to tell them I love them, or to really thank them for all that they did for me so far. I never figured that I would be in a situation like this today. I guess you never know what happens," Silva said. The power of the tree continued entering his body. His cracks increased more and more. He could feel himself shattering and losing consciousness. He closed his eyes slowly, accepting what was to come. But in that instant, unknown to Silva, a light emanated from his soul. It shone bright from within him and began sucking in all the divine energy from the tree. It fought to pull it all, showing resilience despite the fact that the divine energy was pouring in at a crazy quantity. [Your divine soul has awakened] A sudden message came to Silva. His eyes opened in shock. What was a divine soul? As he opened his eyes, he saw that the cracks on his body were healing up rapidly. The feeling of death that lingered over him was withering rapidly. Silva didn't know what was happening, but he didn't have an issue with it. It was helping him, after all. The core of the World Tree started getting destabilized as Silva continued to pull the divine energy. At the rate he worked, he would completely destroy it just like he planned. [You have leveled up, 5000 free stat points] [You have leveled up, 5000 free stat points] [You have leveled up, 5000 free stat points] [...] Level-up messages started flooding the system at an absurd rate. It kept going and going. Silva started getting scared as he saw the notifications keep coming through. It went past a hundred notifications and kept going until it finally stopped. [System calculations ongoing] [Evolution beginning, enough divine energy found] [Evolution status complete] [Congratulations on becoming a Demi-God] [Name: Silva Race: Dark Dragon (Demigod) Legacy: Dark Dragon Legacy (Awakened) Magical Affinities: Summoning, Darkness, Abyss Magic Divine Energy: 1000 EXP: 0/1000 SP: 000 Level: 1 Strength: 10 Defense: 10 Speed: 12 Agility: 12 Intelligence: 15] Silva stared at the screen. What the hell was happening? Why did his stats change so much? He could tell that he was stronger. He didn't know how, but he knew he was stronger. As if the system could hear his thoughts, it responded to him. [Your stats went beyond the normal scale of the former system model. The system has optimized your stats into a small, controlled outlook.] Silva understood what the system was saying. The stats he was seeing now were by far more than his last ones or something, he thought. But somehow, the system had to make it look small for easier understanding of sorts. But the stats were not his problem. It was the fact that he had evolved again—and into something called a Demi-God. His mana changed into divine energy, and only gods could use this. "Did I really become a divine being?" Silva asked himself. The fire of the tree started shattering finally. It broke down piece by piece. Soon, everything shattered, and the World Tree started breaking apart from the inside. Silva flew outside the tree. He watched it from the outside as it began withering and falling to the ground. The tree that had been the one they used for creation—now it was gone. Silva flew down. He didn't even use his wings, and he didn't think about it much. He just wanted to see if the others were safe. When he reached the ground, the others were still there. Amber and Lia saw Silva and ran to him immediately. They leaped on him instantly, tackling him to the ground, tears in their eyes, sobbing. "I thought I lost you. You said you would protect me and we would both walk out," Amber said. "I'm sorry, Amber. I had to do what I had to do, but I survived at the end, right?" Silva said. "Stupid," Lia said and hit his chest with her fist. "Silva, the tree, your eyes—they are gold." Amber made a sudden discovery. Lia looked up at his eyes and saw that it was true. "Alright, alright, please let me get up. There is a lot to explain about what happened," Silva said. To them, it was time he said the whole truth.
