SSS Ranked Awakening: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 167: Help!!

The holy energy experienced a sudden, massive surge, as if a new believer had provided it with fuel like never before.

A believer who had caused a massive spike in holy energy—whoever it was, they had to be someone noteworthy.

The mana, which had a barrier earlier to single cells of it, suddenly experienced a new profound onslaught of the holy energy, which had gained a massive strike in its volume.

Yet—

It couldn't pass through the barrier and devour the mana core.

Leon was on the brink of death.

And finally, it happened. With nothing to heal him from the shockwave to his brain, blasted to pieces, his body stopped twitching now, under the layer of crimson, his body stayed lifeless.

He was really dead.

A cold numbness crept from his fingertips to his chest. His heartbeat pounded once—then faded to silence. Darkness pressed in from all sides, swallowing the world.

Even the jade slip floating above the ground stopped humming, its faint vibration replaced by an ominous silence as it started to spiral downward toward the grass.

Its purpose was not complete, yet it was not incomplete—it was one of the possible outcomes. For Leon, it was the worst one: death by his brain being blasted to pieces by the large amount of information entering his mind.

Before the jade slip could even touch the grassy surface—

Leon's eyes sprang open, but the last final shot of pain was too overwhelming as his brain was blasted to pieces.

He knew he was dead. In his last moment, only one thought was on his mind.

Help

Help, not to anyone, but to the very energy which had helped the jade slip in killing him.

He had understood that it was not some plot or ploy by MoonWhoEatsHerself. Still, actually, the correct information—yet his ignorance about the jade slip had caused his doom.

Beneath the blood covering his mystical eyes, he had lost their precious lustre and now lay lifeless.

----

Inside a room.

Somewhere inside the dimensional hourglass.

A woman with long white hair and sharp white eyes, accustomed to being cold, now had a look of helplessness in her eyes.

Her hands shook uncontrollably, cold sweat prickling down her spine as helplessness seized her entire body.

And anger, endless anger.

"It is happening again..." she murmured under her breath.

Her hand trembled, eyes shaking violently, voice cracking as it escaped her tight throat. Each word felt heavy, dragging her shoulders further down.

She had already stopped the divination, which might increase the time even more, but right now she didn't care anymore, not even a little. Her future master—the one she had thought was the most extraordinary talent she had seen in a million years—

The one who was going to take her out of this prison.

The one whom, with the help of the future, she was going to beat the dimensional keeper and rob him of all his treasure.

And she still had to teach so much more.

Yet she was trapped inside this cage.

She could only watch him helplessly die in front of her; there was nothing she could do about it.

The memory she had gotten over resurfaced again.

A rush of old pain squeezed her chest; her vision blurred at the edges, and a faint ringing pulsed in her ears.

Sadness overwhelmed her; her strength was not the same anymore, yet she couldn't do anything.

"WHY! WHY DID IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ME!"

She didn't know who to blame; her fate had always been like this, no matter what she did.

Zel had left me already and now...

Her white eyes, which were losing their colour, saw the twitching body of Leon in front of her.

A thought appeared in her mind, and her face hardened.

Her jaw clenched, knuckles whitening as she curled her fists in her lap, breath held tight.

She had the very same thought before; it seemed rather pointless before, but not anymore.

If I self-destructed both my mana core and mana heart at the same time, I would definitely leave this cage in shambles...

She knew this from the very first moment she had got trapped here, but that would mean losing hundreds of millions of years' worth of her cultivation, which was too big a price to pay for her.

She never even considered it as a choice.

But not anymore.

She wouldn't die—many resurrection treasures—but only lose her hard-earned, near countless millions of years of worth, yet she made this choice.

Even when he wasn't going to be her master, he wasn't bound by this weird cage-freeing condition anymore.

But she would still accompany him, because she knew significant changes were about to come in the divine and all the realms in between. She would even have the opportunity to go beyond the realm, the realm of Lords, as we call it.

It was going to be hard, especially for a spirit like her, but she would still choose to make that decision.

She was much calmer now, even when she would lose all her power after going outside, as she still had the treasure to resurrect him.

Her muscles slowly relaxed. She exhaled a trembling breath, fingers uncurling with fragile resolve.

His body went lifeless in front of the screen; it pained her heart as she had imagined him to be her worthy master for all the years she had seen him.

But the pain in her chest would be temporary; she knew it.

Large amounts of thick, potent mana were being condensed in her mana heart and core like a raging volcano.

Heat gathered in her core, a deep throbbing pulse echoing in her chest. Pressure mounted behind her sternum like a volcano about to erupt.

But then something happened on the screen in front of her which made her stop in her tracks.

What is happening?

----

With his last call for help, Leon died.

Then it happened out of nowhere after a few seconds.

The same holy energy which acted as if it were a beast repulsed by Leon himself, and no matter how much, he never gained control over it.

Yet the same energy answered his call now.

It burst out of his body in full force.

BOOM!

A blinding radiance erupted, flooding the room with searing heat and forcing her to shield her eyes. The air vibrated, a deep whoom echoing as Leon's body rose, weightless, within the golden pillar.
