The arena trembled, and the air was filled with a powerful pressure.

The air split apart, and a radiant golden arc shot toward Fang Zixuan, tearing through space itself. The power behind the attack made the entire stadium tremble, and gusts of wind blasted outward, sending dust and debris flying.

Fang Zixuan didn't hesitate. His own aura flared as he planted his foot firmly on the ground, his sword humming with power. "White Tiger's Last Fang!"

A massive spectral tiger materialized behind him, roaring as his sword pulsed with beastly energy. In a single motion, he slashed forward, sending a crescent of white energy to meet the golden arc.

The two attacks collided in midair.

The force of the impact created a shockwave that rocked the stadium. The arena floor cracked beneath them as blinding light erupted from the collision, forcing many in the crowd to shield their eyes.

The explosion sent both fighters flying back. Sun Yichen skidded across the stage, barely managing to stay on his feet. Fang Zixuan flipped midair before landing with a heavy step, his breathing ragged.

The audience was dead silent for a moment, trying to process what had just happened.

Then, cheers erupted.

"They're amazing! This is the kind of fight I wanted to see from the start!"

"Look at them go! They're incredible!"

"Incredible? Those two are monsters!"

Sun Yichen and Fang Zixuan stood, their bodies covered in bruises and scratches, their auras flickering faintly.

"Had enough?" Sun Yichen asked, his expression calm despite his injuries.

"You wish," Fang Zixuan replied, a grin spreading across his face.

"Bring it."

Without another word, the two dashed forward, their blades flashing as they unleashed another barrage of attacks.

The clash lasted only a few seconds, but it was intense. The air crackled with energy, and the arena trembled from the force of their blows.

In the end, the two sword cultivators were locked in a stalemate. Their weapons were inches away from each other, the tips of their blades grazing each other.

The crowd watched in anticipation, waiting to see who would make the next move.

As the battle continued, both competitors showed no sign of backing down.

Fang Zixuan had a confident grin, while Sun Yichen was expressionless.

"I will not lose," both of them thought.

Finally, after a long, tense moment, Sun Yichen gritted his teeth and stepped back, conceding the match.

Fang Zixuan smiled, his sword lowering.

The crowd cheered, the noise deafening.

"Sun Yichen was so close! If only he had managed to keep the stalemate for a bit longer," one spectator said, shaking his head.

"No, that last move was too risky," another replied. "If he had made a mistake, he would have lost."

The judges announced the winner, but everyone cheered for both of them as they knew that this was just one of the matches between them, and the winner in the next battle between them could be different.

But the tournament continued. More battles raged on, each one bringing out incredible techniques and showcasing the talents of the younger generation.

By the time the sun began to set, the first part of the first round was complete. Out of the original 400 participants, only 200 remained.

Xu Elder stepped forward, his voice carrying over the arena. "The first round has concluded! The second part of the round will continue tomorrow. All remaining competitors should rest and recover. This concludes today's events. Let's give a round of applause for our participants."

The stadium erupted into cheers, the excitement from the day lingering.

The VIP section was a mix of emotions; some were disappointed by the loss of their contestants, while others were elated.

"What an amazing day," Xu Qianghua commented, his eyes shining.

"Indeed. The youngsters these days are truly talented," another representative agreed.

"But it's still early. We have a long way to go," another warned.

Xu Qianghua's lips curved into a smile. "Don't worry. This is just the beginning."

The sun sank below the horizon, bathing the sky in a golden glow. The first day of the Jingzhong City Competition had come to an end.

In the main mansion, inside the study room.

Xu Qianghua was sitting in the chair behind the main desk with Li Xinyue sitting on his lap with her arms around his neck.

He was holding her hips, making her straddle his lap.

"Today was a good day, we got to see part of the new generation from the other families," Xu Qianghua said.

"Yes, they were all very talented. I'm sure the other elders will be discussing them later," Li Xinyue responded.

"Yeah, but I am more looking forward to what will happen after they join the Unified Army after the world upgrades," Xu Qianghua stated.

"Mhmm, we will need to spend a lot of resources on this," Li Xinyue hummed.

"Well, that's the point of the competition. To see their talents now and then assign them where they can shine the brightest," Xu Qianghua explained.

"True, but without any opponents to fight other than the Zerg, who are still far away, the Army is kinda unnecessary," Li Xinyue argued.

"Don't worry, or did you forget that when the world upgrades, the power wave it generates is enough for the nearby Zerg to catch on?" Xu Qianghua chuckled.

But just as they were about to do something else, the door to the study opened, and Lin Yue and An Zhihao entered the room.

"Brother Qiang, this is not fair. I also want to sit on your lap," An Zhihao complained as she saw Li Xinyue's position.

"Mou..." An Zhihao pouted but still sat beside him, resting her head on his shoulder.

Lin Yue didn't say anything, just smiled softly as she sat on the sofa not far away from the desk.
