Everyone was eager to see the competition and witness the young talents in action.

Representatives from all the major families, sects, and empires had taken their seats in special VIP sections, their eyes scanning the arena as they waited for the competition to begin.

At the center of the stadium, a large stage had been set up. It was a simple platform made of polished jade, its surface etched with elegant symbols.

Standing on the stage was a man dressed in a flowing black robe. He had sharp features and a regal bearing.

His dark hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail, and his eyes gleamed with intelligence and authority.

He was an elder of the Xu family, and his name was Xu Yong.

"Welcome, one and all, to the Jingzhong City Competition!" his voice rang out, amplified by formations.

"We're excited to have so many esteemed guests here today, and we're honored to be able to host such a prestigious event.

For the first time, we're seeing representatives from all the major powers and clans come together to compete.

It's an exciting time for the cultivation world, and I know that everyone is eager to see what's in store.

So, without further ado, let the competition begin!"

His words were met with cheers and applause from the crowd, and Xu Elder waited for the noise to die down before continuing.

"This competition will feature 400 participants," he announced.

"Each of them has been chosen by their respective families, sects, or empires, and they represent some of the finest young talents in the world. Let us give them a round of applause."

Once again, the crowd cheered, their enthusiasm building.

"The competition will follow a simple structure," Xu Elder continued. "There will be two rounds, the preliminary and the main tournament.

During the preliminaries, the 400 participants will face off against each other in a series of one-on-one matches.

The winners will then advance to the main tournament, where they will battle it out until only 100 remain.

From there, the 100 will go on to compete in the final rounds, the top 50 being awarded special prizes.

Every participant will receive a small token of appreciation for their efforts, which will include cultivation resources, weapons, and other items that will boost their strength.

For those who make it to the top 20," Xu Elder continued, "the rewards will increase significantly.

They will receive rare treasures, high-quality artifacts, high-level cultivation resources, and a generous spirit stone prize.

He paused dramatically before announcing the rewards for the top 10. "The top 10 participants will receive even greater prizes.

These will include unique weapons and armors crafted by master artisans, elixirs that can boost cultivation, and a special secret realm that has recently been found and has never been explored yet."

The audience erupted into cheers, and the competitors were even more excited.

"And finally," Xu Elder said, his tone taking on a note of finality, "the winner of the competition will receive a weapon embryo, a specialized training manual tailored to their individual talent, and a special prize from our clan leader personally."

At this, the audience went wild. The rewards were truly lavish, and everyone was eager to see who would win.

Even the representatives were stunned as they knew that they could never be this lavish with the prizes as everyone participating in the competition would receive something.

"Before we begin the competition, allow me to explain the rules," Xu Elder's voice echoed throughout the stadium, cutting through the din.

"This is an elimination-style competition, meaning that each round will consist of one-on-one battles.

Each competitor will have five minutes to defeat their opponent. If both sides are unable to win within the allotted time, the judge will make a decision based on the amount of damage inflicted.

To win, a competitor must either knock out their opponent or force them to concede. No killing is allowed.

At the same time, we know that everyone has a different way of combat, which is why the use of any hidden weapons is allowed.

Still, we require you to use the ones provided by us as they have their sharpness and power regulated and cannot harm the opponent beyond what is required.

Any violation of these rules will result in immediate disqualification.

In addition, we have sent a total of three judges to each arena so that there will be no accidents and the results can be determined quickly and accurately."

Finally, to make sure that the fights are fair, the competitors will be assigned randomly, and their names will be drawn from a box."

The spectators nodded, and Xu Yong smiled slightly.

"I'm glad to see that everyone is on the same page. Now, let's get started."

He gestured, and a formation flared to life. A moment later, a large box appeared on the stage, its polished wooden surface gleaming in the sunlight.

Xu Yong approached the box, his expression calm and composed. With a dramatic flourish, he opened the lid and reached inside, his hand emerging holding a handful of slips.

He held the slips up for the audience to see, and they gasped, their eyes widening in awe and excitement.

"These slips contain the names of the competitors," Xu Yong announced. "Once I've called a name, the owner of the slip will step forward and face their opponent.

And without further ado, let the Jingzhong City Competition begin!"

He flung the slips into the air, and they fluttered down, dancing gracefully in the breeze.

A hush fell over the crowd as everyone leaned forward, eager to see who would be the first to compete.

The slips glimmered faintly as they floated gently to the stage, landing with a soft thud.

Xu Yong swept the slips together and held them up once more.

"The first pair is..." he trailed off, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Chen Haoran vs. Lei Yixuan!"

The spectators cheered as the two contestants stepped forward, their expressions tense but eager.
