SSS Level Talent :This Assasin Is Bit Strong

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Slime

After a heartfelt conversation, Lucas finally managed to ease his best friend's concerns. He once again sent a team invitation to Mason, the chubby and cheerful guy who had been hesitant before. This time, Mason finally clicked "Accept," officially joining his party.

With their party formed, any experience points earned from killing monsters would now be equally shared between them.

"Alright, let's test things out on these slimes over here first!" Lucas suggested.

He stepped up to the nearest slime. It was a small, pathetic-looking blob, slowly squirming on the grassy field—just a Level 1 weak monster. Lucas didn't hesitate. His eyes were calm and focused. He pulled out his daggers, determined to make the first move.

"I'll slice it up!"

Though Lucas was only Level 1 himself, he wasn't your average beginner. He had a rare awakened Talent skill called God-Killing Blade, plus a Level 1 basic assassin ability—Combo.

Combo: A fast attack skill that strikes the enemy twice instantly, dealing 150% of total physical damage.

Two sharp white flashes cut through the air as Lucas's daggers crossed paths. The slime was instantly shredded into four clean pieces!

A huge red number—1600—floated above the slime before it collapsed and vanished into thin air.

Instant kill. One strike.

"Whoa! What kind of freakish damage is that!?" Mason's eyes popped wide open as he watched the scene unfold.

Were Level 1 monsters really this weak?

"I gotta try this too!"

Eager to test his strength, Mason rushed to the next slime. With his large hammer in hand, he shouted a battle cry and smashed down with all his strength.

BOOM!

The hammer landed squarely on the slime's body. It trembled, flipped, and then splattered. It was dead.

Its total health was only 50 points, and Mason's hammer had dealt 120 points of damage—more than enough to squash the creature flat.

To be fair, Mason was wearing a high-quality custom starter set. His stats were far better than most new players. His attack power was already high, and with the sheer weight of the hammer, his blows were devastating. That poor slime didn't stand a chance—it even died in debt!

But still, Mason wasn't satisfied.

"Only 120 damage?" he mumbled, scratching his head in frustration.

Compared to Lucas's jaw-dropping 1600 damage, it was like comparing a paper cut to an explosion. The difference was just too massive. Mason couldn't wrap his head around it.

Sure, his move was just a basic attack, but still…

His awakened Talent was Heavy Hammer Smash, a passive ability that enhanced his regular attacks.

Heavy Hammer Smash (Passive): Increases the damage of normal hammer attacks by 50%. Additionally, there's a 30% chance to stun the enemy on head hits, interrupting their skill casting.

It was a strong passive skill—great for both damage and crowd control. The only downside? As a hammer warrior, his attack speed was noticeably slower.

Even so, his basic strike should have done some serious harm. With the 150% damage boost, it should've packed a real punch.

But Lucas? Lucas had just casually waved his daggers and dealt 1600 damage?

Mason was stunned.

His buddy's S-rank Talent must be ridiculously overpowered!

Even though Lucas wore a full set of three-star, purple-grade novice gear, Mason's own gear wasn't far behind. His hammer and armor were custom-made and provided good bonuses.

Just then, they looked around.

Other nearby students, all wearing regular whiteboard starter gear, were trying to fight slimes too. But their damage numbers were pathetic—just 10 to 15 per hit. Compared to that, Mason realized he was still far ahead.

Yet the gap between him and Lucas felt like the Grand Canyon.

"I just don't get it…" Mason sighed, squatting down and poking the dead slime with his finger, frustration on his face.

Slimes weren't known for defense. In fact, they were easy targets with practically no armor. So why was his damage so far behind?

He turned to Lucas again. "Wait… That Combo skill of yours—you said it deals 150% damage, right? Same as my regular hit!"

Lucas nodded.

That made Mason even more confused. "Then why the hell is your number more than ten times mine?!"

Lucas chuckled. "Well, I've also got a Talent passive that gives me a 1000% bonus on top of everything."

Mason's mouth dropped open.

"A THOUSAND percent?! Bro, that's insane!"

Lucas just smiled coolly.

"Now you see why I said I've got thick thighs—you're lucky to be riding along," he teased.

"Yeah yeah, whatever," Mason pouted, clearly jealous but also genuinely impressed.

"Alright, no more playing with slimes," Lucas said, brushing slime off his blades. "Let's find some tougher wild monsters."

He checked his experience bar.

After killing that one slime, his progress only moved by 0.6%.

If he wasn't in a party, it would have been 1.2%. To level up, he'd need to kill over 80 slimes solo!

And in a full five-person team? They'd need to kill over 400 slimes for one person to level up!

"That's way too much grinding…" Lucas muttered. "No wonder it's so hard to level up as a newbie."

And this was just Level 1. Higher levels would take even more experience, making leveling slower and slower.

"Being a career changer isn't easy," he sighed.

Luckily, Lucas wasn't a typical noob. His rare Talent and powerful equipment meant he could carry Mason through higher-level hunts. They wouldn't have to stay stuck in slime territory.

"Let's move deeper into the plains," Lucas said.

But Mason didn't budge. He was still crouched beside the dead slime, poking at it like a curious child.

He even took off his gloves and touched it with his bare fingers.

"Ooh… so smooth, so moist," he murmured. "This jelly texture is weirdly satisfying."

Lucas froze.

"Don't tell me you're getting any weird ideas…"

Mason grinned. "Bro, I have a bold thought. Just imagine—"

"Nope. Don't even finish that sentence," Lucas interrupted, face darkening.

"But seriously!" Mason pinched the slime's jelly body again with a delighted look. "It's like... springy and soft. Want to try?"

Lucas rolled his eyes. "If you actually paid attention in class, you'd know that slimes secrete a slightly corrosive mucus. Touch it too long, and it damages your skin."

He looked at Mason pointedly.

"If you don't want your little brother to go bald, be my guest."

"WHAT?!"

Mason yanked his hand back instantly and stared at his palm. Thankfully, it was only a little red—not burned or melting.

"Oh man... that was close."

He wiped his hands quickly and then perked up.

"Wait! I can just find a priest girl and ask her to heal me!"

Lucas stared at him blankly.

"You already HAVE a priest girl on your team. Why are you acting like you need a new one?"

Mason blinked.

"…Oh yeah. Right."

He stood up and put his gloves back on.

Then he muttered, "Okay, then maybe... a priest dude?"

Lucas raised an eyebrow. "You seriously want a priest to watch while you act out your 'bold idea'? Even I'd call that pure perversion."

"..."

Mason's brain flashed with an image of that absurd situation. His body shivered. His face turned red with embarrassment.

Yeah. That would definitely be too weird.

"I—I take it back. Let's just go find some wild monsters!" he said quickly, practically sprinting ahead.

Lucas let out a long sigh, shaking his head.

"You're lucky you're funny. Otherwise, I'd leave you for the slimes."

With that, the two of them headed off into the deeper parts of the plains, ready to face stronger enemies—and maybe uncover more bizarre adventures along the way.
