Chapter 15: Still Simping?
Anyone capable of dropping so much on gifts must at least have assets worth tens of millions—maybe even hundreds of millions.
Lily giggled and said, "You'll know the answer when we get there. Isn't it exciting?"
Yana knocked lightly on her younger sister's forehead. "You little gossip! Stop prying. And make sure to get back to school on time—your school's so strict, don't be late."
"Okay, Sis, don't worry. One day I'll get into Griffith University too," Lily replied confidently.
After booking a ride-share for her sister to head home, Yana waited anxiously. This apartment was where she stayed for her live-streaming sessions, while her high school sister mostly lived on campus or at home.
As Yana got into her own ride-share, her breathing quickened.
Her hands trembled, her eyes sparkled with a mix of anticipation and disbelief, and her face was slightly flushed with excitement.
Binding her bank card, she clicked the withdrawal button for the first time. Her heart pounded so hard, she felt like it might burst.
Moments later, her phone buzzed with a notification.
"Your XX Bank savings account has received 150,000.00 dollars. Current balance: 162,142.11 dollars."
After the platform took its share and taxes, only this much was left. Yana felt a slight pang of regret, but the joy of having such a large sum for the first time quickly took over.
For the first time, she didn't need to play games with bootlickers or backup plans. She could buy whatever she wanted—no strings attached.
Thinking of this, Yana anticipation for the mysterious top supporter grew even stronger.
Who is he? she wondered.
He must be a dashing young man, silently admiring her from afar, unable to bear seeing her mistreated, and so he showered her with extravagant gifts.
In her mind, she began crafting a beautiful love story—a wealthy, unassuming gentleman courting his dream girl.
'It has to be someone young. Middle-aged, greasy men spend their money at nightclubs, not on grand gestures like this.'
Domina, the city's finest five-star hotel, was a luxurious haven and a symbol of prestige. It was the perfect place for such a meeting.
The hotel entrance shimmered with opulence as Ryan fiddled with his phone, browsing through the messages in the TikTok.
Unlike the many suited and polished individuals around him, Ryan casual outfit, paired with flip-flops, made him look entirely out of place. Though the summer heat justified lighter clothing, the shoes of those around him were at least branded and cost a few hundred dollars, unlike the cheap, stall-bought ones on Ryan's feet.
His inbox was flooded with private messages, most of them from female streamers seeking attention.
As for the guilds, talent agencies, and the like, Ryan didn't understand them, so he ignored them altogether.
However, amidst the sea of glamorous profile pictures, a simple cartoon avatar stood out—a match to his own childish taste.
"Bro, big spender today, huh? Interested in joining our VIP top-tier group? Add me," read a message from someone named "Emperor," who also had a Doraemon avatar.
Seeing the similarity, Ryan decided to share his WhatsApp ID.
The friend request arrived almost instantly, and Ryan quickly accepted.
At that moment, a white BMW 5 Series pulled up. The passenger door opened, and Tina, holding a bouquet of roses, stepped out with a scowl on her face.
"Ryan, enough is enough. Are you seriously following me?"
Tina's expression was anything but pleasant.
She had expected surprises for her birthday date, but instead, the afternoon turned out to be a cliché: a movie and a visit to an amusement park.
She thought Kaiden would at least take her shopping for a gift. Instead, all she got was a bouquet of flowers. Now, all the frustration she had bottled up was directed at Ryan.
Ryan was stunned for a moment before saying pitifully, "Classmate Tina, happy birthday. You haven't even accepted your gift yet."
With that, he brought out an iPhone 16, and Tina's eyes lit up uncontrollably.
Kaiden stepped out of the car, handed the keys to the valet, and casually tipped him a hundred yuan. Then, he walked over with a frown, smirking sarcastically. "You're really a haunting little lapdog, aren't you?"
"Following us all the way here, and what's this? Buying an iPhone 16? Don't tell me it's a knockoff."
"Sweetie, if it's real, you should be moved. Maybe he sold his blood—or even sold himself—to get you this gift."
Tina clung to his arm and gently reminded him, "Brother Kaiden, my phone is broken, though!"
This little witch... She won't budge without seeing what she wants. Her ample chest maintained a subtle distance from Kaiden's arm, leaving a sliver of hope for the desperate admirer.
They were both seasoned players, so Kaiden naturally saw through her tactics.
He immediately grinned and said, "That's easy. After dinner, we'll go shopping. Pick whatever phone you want, and I'll get it for you."
"Thank you, Brother Kaiden!"
Tina said sweetly, her voice dripping with charm.
Ryan had come to the Domina Hotel because he saw Tina boasting in their group chat about celebrating her birthday here. It was clearly meant to show off.
"Classmate Tina, this is my heartfelt gift. Please accept it."
"Ryan, are you a persistent leech? I already said I don't want it!"
"Who knows if this is some knockoff or a refurbished second-hand phone? Please stop embarrassing yourself, okay?"
With a look of disdain, Tina sneered and slapped the phone box out of his hands.
By the time Ryan picked up the dusty box from the ground, they had already entered the hotel and gotten into the elevator. The look Tina gave him before the doors closed was still full of contempt and derision.
At that moment, Yana happened to arrive. Watching the drama unfold from the side, she sneered coldly, her expression indifferent but clearly filled with disdain for such shameless behavior.
If it weren't for her anticipation of meeting the top supporter on her leaderboard, she would have scolded that Kaiden guy to no end and torn apart that little vixen Tina as well.
"Brother, I've arrived. Where are you?"
Yana anxiously waited for a reply from her top supporter.
Ryan picked up his phone to check the messages, then noticed Yana standing nearby.
He walked directly over to her, his spirits crushed, and said, "You're here. Let's head up."
[He is not confident now, let him be with women. He will gain some backbone]
