Spirit of Reversal against the World

Chapter 42: Chapter 40

I go to the place where I know Shiori will pass by and wait, soon I see her running through the halls and I grab her hand.

"Shiori, are you okay?" I ask gently.

"Ah...I-I lost...Hick...I'm s-sorry I f-failed even after all the support" She says, seeming like she's about to cry.

'Of course she failed, I made sure that would happen.' If she hadn't failed even after all my preparations for that, I don't know what else I could have done.

I hug Shiori while comforting her.

"It's okay, Shiori, you don't have to be sad we can't always win," I say with a reassuring smile while gently patting her head.

"B-But I promised I would win...a-and I even knew about her...e-even so, I failed," Shiori says in a self-deprecating tone.

'So this Shiori isn't as mentally well as I thought, she just doesn't want to worry others, so she hides her negative feelings.' I thought this Shiori had overcome the insecurity that was added to her.

But it seems I was mistaken she just buried it deep down so no one else would see it.

I wipe the tears running down her eyes as I gently comfort her.

"A-Aurelio...m-my bet with Miku...what do I do?" She asks with a certain hopelessness.

Based on this new world, the bet is practically the same, meaning Shiori now "belongs" to Miku.

"Don't worry, Shiori, I can take care of this. I'll talk to Miku-san and I bet she'll understand," I say as I separate from the hug.

"R-Really? You'd do that for me?" She jumps back into my arms in another hug.

"Thank you," She says with a genuinely grateful tone.

It's almost hilarious to see her thanking me for solving a problem that I myself created.

"How about we enjoy the event a bit to forget the problems?" I make an indirect invitation for a date.

"Yes!" She confirms right away, and the two of us head out as she follows me excitedly.

'Mukuro would get really irritated seeing this...' I decide not to think about that crazy girl who really believes I'm her savior and focus on what's in front of me.

Shiori and I walk to a nearby cafe, only now did I notice that Shiori is still wearing her maid dress.

'I completely forgot...' I didn't find that aspect so relevant to focus on.

"Shiori, how about we go to a clothing store first?" I ask her while pointing to a clothing store across the street.

"It's close, so after buying clothes we can go to the cafe."

"Ah...Okay," She notices only now that she's still wearing the maid uniform used for the performance.

The two of us enter the store while she goes to pick out an outfit, I wait seated in a customer chair while checking some things on my phone.

'Miku started sending messages...' I decide to talk to her.

[What is it?] I write to her.

[You disappeared, I thought you'd want to celebrate with me, I even bought some little things (*≧ω≦)] she writes to me using emojis.

'What a waste of time.'

[I'm busy at the moment, could you just say what you want?] I write without much enthusiasm, I don't want to have to distribute my time to her like this.

[How cold (╥﹏╥) why are you so cold, Aura-chan? We could have a little fun] she continues insisting.

[I'll be spending the night with you today, why should I spend the rest of my time as well?] My responses are simpler and more direct compared to hers, which are full of unnecessary emojis and sparkles.

[Aura-chan, you should try to be more fun, just like the kitten in this video, he's so cute (☞゚ヮ゚)☞] Along with the message, there's a video of a kitten jumping around excitedly when the owner gets home.

'She's comparing me to an animal?' I don't think I liked that comparison, especially since she's practically throwing in my face that she considers herself my "owner."

[I'm not in the mood for these nonsenses, could you not send me messages? I'm busy.]

[Ah yes, I couldn't find Shiori-chan either, I looked for her but couldn't find her, did you see her by any chance? I almost turned the table over to find her hahaha (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻] After that, she sends a combination of symbols that actually forms a little figure turning over a table.

"Huh? I didn't know you could do that."

[Shiori is busy at the moment, and besides, you're going to spend the night with me, I don't think you need her for today] I write while thinking about how I'm going to steal the Sephira from her tonight.

[OwO are you jealous, Aura-chan? You don't need to be, I have plenty of love to give to all my girls, here's a hug (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ] she writes while sending a set of symbols that forms a hug.

"Haaa...how boring." I sigh while muttering, Miku is such a tedious person, she's predictable and also someone who drowns in her own ego she has so much pride, but not enough power to justify all that pride.

[I have to go, anyway, I'm busy.] I say without the desire to continue these annoying dialogues.

I prefer to spend my time with Shiori. Shiori is much more interesting, even though she's predictable, that doesn't change the fact that she's interesting.

[(ᗒᗣᗕ)՞ Aura-chan, you're so cold, you're making me cry, but I'm ready for the challenge (ง'̀-'́)ง I'll make you beg for more tonight (¬‿¬ )و ̑̑ I'll leave you alone then, bye (ノ・∀・)ノ]

"Hah, as if you could do that. Tomorrow, it'll be you begging for your powers back." I say while putting my phone away because I notice Shiori is coming.

She's wearing a blue and white dress with pastel tones that match her body very well.

"You look beautiful, Shiori," I say as I get up from the chair.

"T-Thank you," She says a bit shyly. I go with her to the cashier and pay for the dress, even though Shiori wanted to pay, in the end I convinced her.

After buying the dress, we went to the cafe, which also serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as various snacks like sweets and ice cream.

After I order a simple slice of cake, I wait for Shiori to place her order, which turns out to be strawberry ice cream with caramel and chocolate topping. After our orders arrive, we eat while talking about simple everyday things.

Soon the waiter comes to collect the bill.

"Hello sir, are you finished?"

"Yes, I'll pay by card." He takes a card machine and I pay.

"Wait...I think there's a mistake, why did it charge less?"

"Ah no, no, no sir, it's correct there's a discount for couples," he says with a smile and leaves.

I look at Shiori, who looks back at me blushing. It seems she doesn't deny the idea of us being a couple.

"Well then, my love, how about we go to a movie?" I play along and call her "my love," making her blush even more and get even more embarrassed.

"S-Sure," She agrees shyly as she finishes her ice cream.

'I have 5 hours until I meet with Miku, plenty of time.' I think as I leave with Shiori. After that, we go to the movies, watching a film of Shiori's choice, and to finish the night, I take her to an observatory to gaze at the stars.

We spend some time observing the stars until Shiori decides to start a conversation.

"Aurelio...you....maybe just maybe..." Shiori murmurs in a restrained way, as if she's ashamed to say what she wants.

"You can tell me, Shiori," I say as I wait to see what she'll say.

"...It's just...I-I wanted to know if..." She seems to be dying of embarrassment while restraining herself from talking to me.

"Shiori, don't be afraid, you can say whatever you want," I encourage her. Shiori takes a deep breath to gather her courage and says,

"Aurelio...could you love me?" Shiori asks with the little courage she managed to muster.

"..." Her statement is not a question of whether I love her or if I could go out with her, but rather a question of whether I could love her.

"..." I remain silent, thinking of the best answer.

"I-I know I used to be a guy, but n-now I'm a girl...I'm not that different, right?" She speaks desperately, seeing my silence.

"R-Right?...A-Aurelio...do you find me disgusting? Am I such a bad option?" She says, somewhat desperate.

"..." I remain silent, letting her sink deeper and deeper into despair, the deeper she falls, the more grateful she will be when I pull her out of the well of hopelessness.

Now she has tears in her eyes.

"A-Am I really such a bad option? D-Do I really have to be repulsive? After all, who would want to be with someone who used to be a guy, right?" She speaks in a self-deprecating way while crying.

"I-I'm sorry for ruining the night, I-I'll go now." She turns to run away, but I hold her hand and pull her back, hugging her and giving her a kiss.

Her expression is one of total surprise, but nonetheless, she returns the kiss passionately.

After a long moment, I separate from her.

"I'm sorry, Shiori, but I don't love you...however, I don't find you disgusting either. If you want my love, then you just have to conquer it," I say with a gentle smile.

"Be the type of girl ideal for me." I've told her this several times before, both when she was a man and after she became a woman. I brainwashed her slowly to make it clear what kind of person she should become.

And so, Shiori will slowly mold herself into what I want. Shiori wipes the tears from her face.

"Y-Yes," She says with a teary but happy smile. It seems it was a success it would have been terrible if I had failed, as it would have been months wasted for nothing, and I would have had to switch to Plan B.

Plan B was simply to kidnap and drug Shiori until she developed severe emotional dependence that could only be satisfied by being with me, but in the end, it seems Plan B won't be used...for now.

I take Shiori home, and throughout the journey, she seemed very happy that I "accepted" her, and now Shiori will mold herself even more to my liking, which will facilitate my plans.

After taking Shiori home, I go to Miku's house, but not before stopping by a store and buying some sex toys and handcuffs.

I can play the game that Miku wants, but I'll never let her be on top of me. Obviously, regular handcuffs would break, since Miku is a spirit, but I can find a way around that.
