Before Stefan could swing his sword, the middle-aged man swung his sword that appeared out of nowhere and slashed Stefan's right hand.

'Aargh'

Stefan fell to the ground and started crying in pain while muttering, 'My hand...my hand.'

Blood splashed everywhere as Stefan rolled on the floor.

"Just because you know the Grayeye family, you should not be arrogant."

The middle-aged man walked towards Stefan and said those words before looking at Paula and others.

"Sir General Knight, please forgive us. We will apologize to this little brother hurriedly."

Paula knew that the middle-aged man must at least have cultivation of General Knight to be able to handicap Stefan at a lightning speed. So, she hurriedly begged for mercy.

Also, she didn't forget about Lucas and Evan as she apologized to them while slapping her face three times.

Since Stefan was not in a position to slap himself, she did it herself.

Lucas was shocked by the middle-aged man's strength and hurriedly said, "Thank you, Sir Knight."

As for Paula and others, he didn't even bother to look at him as he thanked the middle-aged man.

Even though he said those words, Lucas felt a little guilty for trying to get justice without actual strength.

It took quite some time for Lucas to calm his little brother as he didn't have much experience in handling little kids.

Nevertheless, Evan calmed down and fell asleep, making Lucas heave a sigh of relief.

'Why the hell is this old man taking forever to come back?'

It's been a day since the old man Bernard had left the inn to gather information on the Silverstone town.

Moreover, if Bernard was here, then the morning incident would have not happened.

Just as Lucas was thinking about the old man Bernard, he heard the family voice of the old man.

"Why are you late?"

Lucas asked with an annoyed look on his face.

"Family head, there was a minor issue while coming back to the inn. Sorry for the delay."

The old man replied with an apologetic look on his face.

'This old man was loyal to the Hellmore family for decades. I can't scold him. Moreover, he was completing the mission I gave him.'

With that thought in his mind, Lucas didn't bother about it and asked, "So, tell me what information you gathered about this town?"

"Yes, family head."

The old man heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Lucas was not angry anymore and started saying, "The Silverstone town is a main town in the entire barren firmament because of the Myriad primordial forest which was just 10 kilometers away from here. Due to that, there will be many mercenaries entering this town."

"As for the families in this town, there were many of them; however, there are three families with whom no other family dares to clash. They are the Grayeye family, Windcrusher family and Sternbrook family."

"Also, there are small branches of Mercenary guild, Mages guild, Alchemy guild, Weaponsmith guild and other professions because of the abundant items brought back by the adventurers and mercenaries."

The old man finished saying all the information he gathered for Lucas.

'Hm'

Lucas carefully listened to everything and nodded his head while planning the future.

"Old man, are there any special criteria to establish a family in this firmament?"

Generally, not anyone can create a family as they wish. Instead, they have to follow the firmament's criteria to establish a family.

So, Lucas asked as he only knew there would be criteria for different firmaments; however, he didn't know the criteria for any firmament.

"Actually, it is quite simple to establish a family in the Barren firmament. Here, as long as someone has the strength of a General knight or any of his family's servants has the same strength as a general knight, they could apply for establishing a family."

"Good. Then, let's establish our Hellmore family here."

Lucas had already thought about it for quite some time. So, he was serious when he said those words.
