Sous

Mara, the three sisters, and Sous sat in Headmaster Fanu's office, to be more precise, Mara was standing to the side of Fanu. Sous sat in a chair with her held down and her hands in her pockets. She was to be suspended for three weeks because if the harm she caused onto Tany.

"It was an accident. I didn't mean to hurt her," she argued her case, not wanting to miss the first three weeks of school; thereby, putting her behind her class work.

"Why would you do such a close range attack like that then?" Fanu asked.

Gortrius raised her hand and started speaking prior to be granted permission. "Sous has a habit of using that spell because its one the more potent ones. We have told her to be weary of using it-"

"A heed she did not take, I see." Fanu interrupted. "Its evident she's an amazing spellcaster; otherwise, Mara wouldn't have sponsored her. But we can't have her going around campus and harming students."

The witches hadn't anything comments to counteract his statement. They looked at Sous, just as disappointed as she was.

"Sous, you are to be suspended for three weeks. You are not to come back to campus until Septembris the 11th. Mara will escort you to your room so you can retrieve any belongings you want to take with you as you depart."

Sous nodded her head with Mara coming around and placing a hand on her shoulder. She wondered if Mara regretted her decision to sponsor her. She also wondered if Tany regretted becoming friends with her. As they left the headmaster's office with the witches going to the main courtyard to wait there, Sous looked to Mara.

"Can I see Tany?"

"She's still in the infirmary," Mara answered.

Sous paused for a bit. "Yeah, but can I see her?"

Mara patted Sous on the back. "Not yet, let's give her time to rest, okay."

This time Sous was hallucinating. The students, all of them: the vampires, the elves, the pixies, the fairies, the witches and wizards, the warlocks, the wolves-they all eyed her. They whispered in front and behind her back. Sous could hear everything they said about her via her sensitive ears. They tried their best to whisper but the words stung just as hard as if they spoke them with their full voice.

When Sous got to her room, the girls, her roommates didn't look at her, they didn't talk to her. Her reputation was already sealed like the seal on her neck. Thank goodness, what if it wasn't the spell that harmed Tany? Sous shook her head wanting to get the the image of the seal on her neck breaking releasing some sort of hidden power, or the ashes of her father that were now within her unfolding into a fierce monster that trampled everything in its path.

The baby basilisk was already around her neck so Sous simply got her small notepad, some of her spell books, and then kept everything else there. She was going to be staying with the three sisters again since Shadow was stationed on the border.

Coming from the library, she still continued to walk with her head down, feeling like a criminal being escorted to jail. As she made her way to the courtyard, Mara gave her such a disappointing look.

"Sorry," was all Sous could mumble as she was lead away by the sisters.

They were teleported fast with Sous already sitting on her bed. Even the fat little baby snake wasn't enough to put a smile on her face. She picked it up and hugged it as it coiled around her.

"I'm sorry I got us kicked out. I tried to look for Icarus to see if he could tell Tany how bad I felt. That I'm sorry but I couldn't find him," she told the baby snake, it simply sticking its tongue out to her.

She took her shoes off and laid on her bed just looking up ward. She heard the footsteps of the sisters coming to her. They were probably going to have a talk with her. Sous turned on her side, wandering if maybe she could pretend to be asleep.

It was Glinda who was first to enter. She walked to the window with her arms crossed standing near the bandit servant that brought some tea up for Sous. She thanked him and he went back down to tend to his duties. Then came Gortrius and Gladian. Gladian sat on Sous' bed, causing the child to sit up and cross her legs. There was a moment of silence like they were given their respects to a fallen soldier, Tany.

Sous sighed.

"Sous, what happened?" Glinda asked first.

She had gone crazy that day, thinking all the wolves were out to get her. She became paranoid. Should she admit that? Sous looked at Glinda, unsure.

"Sous!"

"I don't know!" She yelled out. "I was sick and some wolf called me a mutt. Apex is everywhere! The school can't protect me!"

The three sisters stared at Sous, and Sous saw it in their eyes that they didn't believe her.

She slammed herself back on her bed and turned on her side. She closed her eyes, the conversation was over far as she was concerned.

Tany laid in bed in the infirmary. The aqua senera spell having been performed on her yesterday kept her lightheaded. It was a more advanced spell so although it healed the outer potion of the wound easily, the inner was still reconstructing itself.

She disappointed in herself for not being able to block Sous' attack. It was unexpected. She never once thought Sous would attack her even if by accident.

The nurse in his white scrubs walked to her with a tray of food. Some bread, fruits, oats, and milk. A light breakfast. Tany thanked him but her appetite- she still hadn't had one, so she pushed her tray away when he was no longer in eye sight.

She saw Jacob entere into the room and he pulled up a chair from the desk next to her bed.

"How you feeling?"

"Horrible. All these rumors are being spread about Sous. That she tried to kill me."

"Yeah, I heard them too," he thought for a moment. "Ever since the situation that took place back in Red Woods, Sous has been on the move. I think she never had a time to truly grieve or process what happened."

Tany understood what he was saying. It all caught up to Sous yesterday. She was having a panic attack.

"Still, I wish I could say something to stop them from talking."

"It is true though, Tany, she could have killed you if that sword went through your heart."

Tany glared at Jacob.

"Whos side are you on, Jacob?"

He placed his hands up to defend himself. Sous was just as much as his friend as she was to Tany. Still, he saw what could have happened if the spell had been an inch or so closer.

He got up from the chair, mentioning Zan and Randali, Makala and Pixie Boy would be by later in the day to check on her. Tany nodded her head at him, not wanting to converse much longer.

School was to start in just a few days and the student body had turned against Sous. Tany shook her head. When the girl came back, she was going to have to prove that she wasn't some brute who just randomly attacked people.

There was a tap on the window.

"Icarus!" Tany opened the window to allow her friend to fly through. "Where you been? You know I get worried about you." Tany said hugging her friend. She stood upon the wash bowl and began to eat some of the food that was on Tany's tray. "Imma need you to do me a favor-"

Zan and Randali walked the stairs toward the infirmary when they heard whispers coming from other students. Since classes were about to start, more and more of the student body was arriving on campus.

"See, that's the problem with kids who have so much in their blood. They can't control their power." Said one girl.

"Hmm, hmm, they shouldn't be allowed to attend the same school as us. Did you hear? She nearly killed that girl and only got three weeks of suspension. That's nothing." Said the friend.

The Omega placed his hand on Randali's arm, trying to get her to ignore the conversation, but like most Alphas, she was too head strong.

On the top step, Randali turned to the gossiping chickens.

"Hey, it was an accident!" Randali yelled.

"And how do you know?" The first girl asked.

"Because she's my friend and I know she wouldn't harm another friend on purpose."

The girls looked at Randali and rolled their eyes to the Alpha.

"You know what they?" Said the other girl, "birds of feather, flock together."
