Chapter 763: Chapter 742 ( Great Haltina Labyrinth - IX )
Cloud quickly ran against the cockroach while dodging Tio's elemental attacks, though it didn't end there as Yue joined the fray.
"[Supernova] !" - Yue roared as her red eyes glowed with mischief.
Cloud's expression darkened because he had taught her that skill so that she would have a larger repertoire, though such seemed to have backfired.
The red cockroach began to move his antes with a sort of happiness, after all, he had seen how the yellow-haired menace had stopped and was paying more attention to the "humans".
Cloud quickly gritted his teeth as he decided on his new plan of action, which was quite simple.
"No pain, no victory" - Cloud muttered as he concentrated his mana within himself and ran back against the leading cockroach, completely ignoring the attacks of the two most destructive members of his group, though to his growing irritation, he saw how in his way was now another person - "Seriously..."
"Cloud..." - Shea growled as she pointed in his direction with her massive battle hammer - "I'm not letting you near that beautiful creature."
Cloud's expression darkened as he took a long breath before continuing to run at the rabbit girl, who continued to glare hatefully at the blond.
"Doryaaaaaa!" - Shea let out a war cry as she used all her physical power to try and crush Cloud, though this was not easy for her, not because she didn't intend to, but because her opponent was extremely fast, even when she used her physical power-up.
Cloud felt that he hadn't hated a creature that much, after all, he was making a huge effort not to attack the girls.
"I know..." - Cloud muttered as he smiled slightly, he quickly ran against Shea and used his speed so he could get around her and put his back against the roaches.
"Doryaaaaaaaaa!" - Shea didn't hesitate, she quickly used her hammer to hit him with the hardest blow she could hit him with.
Cloud gritted his teeth as he listened to how his arms seemed to be on the verge of breaking after taking that blow, after all, he had modified Shea's hammer to have greater penetrative power, and now he was regretting having done so.
The blond shot out at full speed against the cockroaches, an opportunity he used to be able to go straight at the leader.
The red cockroach let out a screech before ordering his subordinates to defend him, but the speed of the "projectile" going against him was too high.
Cloud smiled slightly as he circled his body in fire while watching the insect's visors being calcined before coming in contact with him.
"Kichaaaaaaaa!" - the cockroach again let out a screech, although the silence stopped a few seconds later.
Cloud had used his trusty spear to pierce the creature's body, though to his misfortune, the pain was about to continue, because the girls again had begun their flurry of attacks, including Shea, who had used a nearby tree as a springboard to get there faster and give the blond a firm blow with her giant hammer.

When the blond managed to regain consciousness, he noticed how all the girls were sitting around him in a makeshift camp.
"Cloud!" - Shea exclaimed as she heard the movement - "Sorry!"
Cloud didn't respond, mostly because he could feel how his whole body ached after receiving the attack from Tio, Yue and Shea.
"Be quiet, rabbit" - Yue said as she frowned, though she quickly let out a sigh and took a long look at the blond boy - "Are you okay?"
"I don't think that's the right question" - Kaori muttered as the others looked at each other in embarrassment - "Many of his bones are broken and his mana control is haywire."
"I'm sorry for attacking you, Cloud" - said Tio as she let out a sigh.
"You don't have to apologize, it was that thing's fault..." - Cloud replied weakly, after all, he hadn't taken such a beating in a long time.
"We already took care of the rest, so we can take a break and wait for you to recover" - Kaori said as she used [Heal] on the blond again, which she had been doing every time she regained her mana.
"Uh, Myu feels bad for hating daddy" - said Myu as she sat down next to the injured blond boy.
"It wasn't your fault" - Cloud repeated as he closed his eyes.
"Daddy, don't die!" - Myu shouted with tears in her eyes.
"I'm not dying, I'm just tired..." - sighed Cloud as he opened one eye to calm the little light blue-haired girl - "I'm going to get some sleep now, I need to concentrate on my recovery."
"Ok, but don't die" - nodded Myu as she ran to her mother.
The others could only shake their heads when they saw this, though they quickly concentrated on their respective tasks.
"The person who created this maze, has a horrible sense of taste" - muttered Shizuku as she frowned - "I understand the other tests, but this last one..."
"You mean because the creatures were cockroaches?" - Kaori asked as she wiped her sweat.
"Partly, though the biggest problem is that those things had the ability to reverse our feelings" - snorted Shizuku as she started to think - "I understand the concept, but at the same time it doesn't make sense, because as we saw, the stronger our bonds are, the greater the hatred we will have against each other, to the point that we would practically try to kill each other."
"I understand what you're trying to say" - nodded Tio as she started to think - "It's obvious that this would prove who is the person faking his emotions, although at the same time it's stupid that the test didn't end there, but we also had to kill that cockroach while dodging the attack of our allies..."
"We'd better leave that topic for another time, now it's time to rest" - Remia said while caressing her daughter's hair as affectionately as possible, after all, during the attack of the red cockroach, she was almost about to attack her baby, or at least that's how it would have been if it wasn't because her maternal instinct far outweighed her invested feelings.

"Hmm, maybe they're right and this last test was too much..."
"What are you thinking?" - Belta asked as she looked around the darkened room.
"I was thinking about this last test, the truth is that after hearing what they said, it makes sense. I designed this test so I could see if the bonds they have forged could stop the growing hatred inside them, and on paper it sounds good, the problem is the greater the feelings between them, the greater the hatred they will have to endure"
"And isn't that the reason for the test?" - Belta asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, the problem comes when the same test conflicts with the reason for my labyrinth..."
"I don't understand" - said Belta as she started to think about the situation some more - "Let's see, first, your labyrinth tests the bonds of its participants."
"Exactly, all the other tests have proven this point over and over again, the problem comes being this last one."
"What did it consist of?" - Belta asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"Cockroaches with the ability to invert the feelings of the participants."
"Cockroaches?" - Belta repeated as she felt a shiver run down her back, after all, she had never been good with insects, much less those grotesque creatures.
"Giant cockroaches."
"Oh, I-I see..." - Belta muttered with a pale face, though it quickly returned to normal - "Wait, reverse feelings?"
"Exactly."
"That doesn't sound so bad" - Belta said as she cocked her head to the side.
"The goal was to ignore these feelings and prove that the bonds were stronger than their false feelings, though now I saw that this thought despite being well on the table, is a huge flaw in practice because this spontaneous hatred completely breaks the reason for the test."
"I thought the test was to put into practice the saying "from love to hate there is only one step"..." - Belta said as he cocked his head to one side.
"That's the point, the problem is that I didn't take into account a love on the verge of obsession like these girls'."
"Oh... now I understand what you're trying to say..." - Belta said as she shook her head. If someone loved a person that much, it was obvious that the hatred they would gain after suffering the attack of that cockroach would be equally or even more potent, after all, hatred is easier to feed than love.
"I guess I'm going to have to think things through a bit more now that I managed to discover this little mistake, although there is a problem, and that is that modifying the labyrinth is going to take me a huge amount of mana, something I can't accumulate because I'm sealed in this place..."
"What if they managed to free you?" - Belta asked curiously.
"That would make things easier, although I would still need a strong source of mana and vitality to be able to recover, luckily, this source is walking directly towards us ~"
