Chapter 7: 6. Accidental Detour.

The destination that Quincy and the girls had hoped to see and visit really didn't look like the presentation that the picture had, from the structure that Evelyn was hoping and couldn't stop talking about all the way there, really felt like they were already inside it to the others.

On their way there they passed a long and stretchy road that was full of grass and a few houses, those kind of houses that you'd often see in the opening scene of a horror movie, some of the houses if not most looked like they were abandoned, while others clearly had people inside but the way they were when they saw Quincy and the girls.

It was really offensive and disturbing, one out of five houses would close their curtains, and the others would turn off their lights.

"Well, that's not nice." Jade holding on tight to Quincy.

As if that wasn't the worst part that freaked them out, on their way to Evelyn's destination, the road seemed to get quieter than usual. People and cars that they came across while passing by the horror houses there weren't that many walking by if they could recall... They'd say that they saw if not only three to a single person passing by and maybe four to five cars, that weren't following each other right away.

If estimating the time distance would be to half an hour tops, them seeing a couple of people wouldn't be something that they should actually celebrate, since it happens that those three to one people they saw actually lived around that area, and when they approached them they actually distanced themselves.

"How, rude!" Holland would comment.

"Don't take it to heart, they're usually like this whenever they see something or someone that they don't know they tend to act like this." Quincy tried to make her understand.

Evelyn was walking behind with Holland who was on guard for anyone who would dare try to jump them or do anything that would harm them.

Evelyn getting uneasy and uncomfortable, "I'm scared."

She got a little bit closer to Holland who didn't really hear her say anything.

Just like that a car came out of nowhere, it was an old grey-ish car driving so slow that when it was driving near them the car actually drove a bit slower than before, Jade feeling like the driver of that car was watching them or something.

"Quincy, are we there yet?" Jade hides behind Quincy.

The car windows didn't reveal who was the driver behind the will, since it's windows were tilted black just after a few minutes passed... By the grace of God the car actually drove off, leaving them behind.

Freaked out by what happened Evelyn just left Holland alone, rushed to catch up to Quincy and Jade and she wrapped her arms around Quincy and held on tighter.

"Quincy, please don't let me go." Evelyn hiding behind him.

Now walking all on her own, Holland might have been the bravest one of them all, but in that situation her girl side kicked in.

"So, are you guys going to leave me behind all on my own?"

She didn't want to sound like she was getting scared or what.

But something moved in the bushes, not being able to see what it was Holland actually walked a little fast, not wanting to make it obvious to the others, whenever they looked at her she would walk a bit slower.

"Is Holland, alright you guys?" Quincy not understanding what she is doing.

"No, she's just a little scared just like us." Jade replied.

"But, because of pride she'd never want to make it that obviousl." Evelyn finished up.

"Okay, so what do we need to do?" Quincy asked.

Jade smiled, "Let's not make it obvious to her that we know, so let's walk a bit faster."

Quincy and Evelyn both loved that idea, so they all agreed and began to create some distance between them and Holland, walking a bit faster than before.

Noticing the distance and difference, Holland got confused now she was the only person who was left behind and that was even scary, even for a badass like her.

So she had no choice but to actually pick up her pace and catch up to them.

"Hey guys, wait up!" She hugged Quincy from behind.

And Quincy being a guy he really didn't see or find a reason to complain, whatever was happening was working in his favour. Three beautiful girls being damsels in distress, was a dream come true for any guy.

Too bad that no one was there to see this happening and even if he were to tell the others, who would believe him without any proof or evidence. That just meant more beatings and bullying for him.

The walk was taking quite some time and the girls now we're getting restless, time wasn't on their side and soon the clouds were going to cover the moon.

"Are we there yet?" Evelyn asked.

"No." Quincy answered.

"How long do we have to walk?" Jade asked.

"Just a little more." Quincy answered.

"My feet are killing me " Holland complained.

Quincy didn't even know how to respond to the comment made by Holland, he just looked at her with disbelief shocked in his face.

Holland sensing that Quincy was staring at him, "What is it? Don't you know it's rude to stare?"

"I'm sorry, it's just I never thought in a million years it was possible for me to hear you, complain about anything less than your burning feet." Quincy answered.

Holland for the first time in her whole life had never run out of anything to say, but Quincy managed to make her do so, which was something rare to her.

Even both Jade and Evelyn couldn't believe it their own selves.

"Woah, someone just made Holland, hush." Jade surprised.

"And out of all people it's none other than Quincy Reigns, himself. That's something you don't see each and every single day." said Evelyn.

Feeling embarassed, Holland just let go of Quincy and walked on her own. Quincy showed concern for her.

"Are you okay?"

Looking at her friends' reaction, Holland just got all red.

"Oh shut up, I'm doing fine. Maybe you're the one who is not okay."

Holland didn't even understand her own self on what she was sayin', Jade and Evelyn just laughed out loud.

All the way to their last destination both Jade and Evelyn were laughing their lungs out.

Finally they reached their destination.

"Phew, finally we are here." Jade sounding so relieved.

All of them were tired to even see the place, still trying to catch their breaths, Holland decides to look at it.

"Is this it?"

Holland wasn't sure if what she saw was either her own tricks playing in her head, or there was something definitely off with this place.

"Yeah, but why are you saying that like we're lost or something?" Quincy not paying attention.

"I know I'm not the smartest person among us, but are you sure that this is the right place?" Holland asked.

Quincy oblivious to Holland's questions he tried to defend himself.

"Yes, I'm definitely sure that this is the right place I've walked here more than a hundred times in my life."

Jade and Evelyn decided to take it upon themselves to look at this place that Holland is so sure that is the wrong place, and Quincy is sure that is the right place.

To their unexpected unawaited surprise one of them was right and the other one was wrong, which was going to put them in an awkwardness decision.

"Uhm, Quincy are you sure this is actually the right place?" Jade asked Quincy.

"Oh come on, not you too. What don't you trust me?" Quincy feeling offended.

"No, it's not that it's just." Jade couldn't finish her statement.

"It's just that this place doesn't seem like a Qing dynasty look, and like a holy place." Evelyn sounding so disappointed.

Not sure what the girls were all about, Quincy decided to take it upon himself to actually take a look at the place, that the girls are so determined that is actually a wrong place.

"I don't understand what you guys are talking about I never actually, get---"

As soon as Quincy raised his head and saw the place that he had mysteriously guided the girls to, he couldn't let himself continue to finish up his sentence.

Because what he saw was something that was beyond impossible, even by mistake it wasn't just that possible.

"How in the--?" Quincy had more questions than he had the answers.

The place that Quincy actually took the girls wasn't the destination and place that Evelyn had chosen to see as her destination, it was something else something that.

Even the words to describe it wouldn't make sound less than what it's usually is, instead of a beautiful Qing dynasty building, Quincy had taken them to one building he never meant and dared too.

It was more like a holy place.
