Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Methods to Advance
A quiet night passed without any words.
Throughout the night, nearly all the diners who had enjoyed the Fish Belly Stuffed with Lamb entered deep meditation. Among them were more than ten individuals with the level of [Spirit Emperor] or higher. It was easy to imagine the stir that would ensue when they woke from deep meditation and realized its connection to the Fish Belly Stuffed with Lamb.
However, Qi Han wasn't particularly concerned. With the system in place, as long as others were inside the little restaurant, not even Limit Douluo could threaten him.
No matter how great the disturbance, it was just passing clouds.
Thus, he enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep.
Early in the morning, Qi Han returned to the carving training space and continued honing his carving skills.
In the training space, a morning equated to an entire ten days, and adding the time he had spent yesterday afternoon in the training space, Qi Han had already spent half a month there, improving his carving skills.
After spending half a month in the training space, Qi Han had successfully carved a spherical object that met the system's satisfaction. He then moved on to practice a new course, focusing on simple still-life sculptures.
In the context of carving, "still-life" primarily referred to carving lifeless objects such as stones, tables, or even non-living plants. These sculptures were considered the simplest because they only required the shape to be accurate and didn't need any spiritual aspects.
According to the system, completing the training for all still-life carvings would allow Qi Han to reach the level of a proficient carver, and his Spirit ring would be upgraded from ten years to a hundred years.
However, even the simplest still-life carvings were challenging, and achieving perfection was a long-term goal. For the proficient level, he would have to carve thousands of different food materials into lifelike plants, and for the perfect level, he would need to sculpt tens of thousands of food materials into lifelike animals.
It sounded like a lifelong endeavor.
In the meantime, Ying Shuang arrived at the restaurant early, realizing that this might be her last chance to enjoy a work meal there. Her heart couldn't help but feel a pang of regret at the thought of not knowing if she'd have this opportunity in the future.
She wished she could stay at the restaurant forever.
As Ying Shuang read the notice on the bulletin board, her heart leaped with excitement, thinking it might be another opportunity to join the restaurant's staff. However, her enthusiasm turned into disappointment when she realized that the restaurant was looking for delivery personnel, not service staff.
In the world of Douluo Continent, the concept of food delivery was unfamiliar to her, and she wasn't entirely sure what a delivery worker did. Nevertheless, the real source of her disappointment lay in the notice explicitly stating that priority would be given to agility-based Spirit Master.
This left her feeling disheartened. After all, she was not an agility-based Spirit master, and her Martial Spirit was that of a Fire Dragon, which didn't possess wings or agility attributes. Thus, she didn't meet the criteria outlined in Qi Han's requirements.
She couldn't help but think, 'Why should we agility-based Spirit Master have all the privileges?' Her youthful spirit was slightly wounded by the situation.
As Qi Han pushed open the door to the small restaurant, he noticed Ying Shuang staring at the bulletin board with a mix of emotions on her face. He couldn't help but chuckle and said, "Come on in."
"Okay," Ying Shuang replied and followed Qi Han into the restaurant.
"Boss, I'll have a small serving of Egg Fried Rice and a Tomato Beef Brisket!" This was what Ying Shuang had wanted to eat last night but had postponed due to the Kung Pao Chicken incident.
Qi Han nodded in understanding and then entered the kitchen.
Ying Shuang had performed well last night, and her last-minute assistance to the restaurant had been quite helpful. Since this was her last shift, Qi Han decided to give her a little surprise.
He couldn't give her a reward of Fish Belly Stuffed with Lamb, as that wouldn't be fair to Fu Ya, who had been working diligently at the restaurant for so long. However, a portion of Dongpo Pork Knuckle was certainly a nice touch.
Soon, a small serving of Egg Fried Rice, Tomato Beef Brisket, and an extra serving of Dongpo Pork Knuckle were placed on the table.
Ying Shuang looked at the extra serving of Dongpo Pork Knuckle with curiosity, wondering about Qi Han's intentions.
Qi Han smiled faintly and said, "You've worked hard these past few days. Consider this a reward."
Ying Shuang's eyes lit up as she realized what Qi Han meant. "Thank you, boss!"
She skillfully used her chopsticks to separate the tender pieces of Dongpo Pork Knuckle and savored each bite with a satisfied smile on her face. Dongpo Pork Knuckle was incredibly delicious, and she couldn't help but express her delight.
Ying Shuang couldn't contain her happiness and exclaimed, "The boss is such a good person! I've decided that I'll never call him 'stinky boss' again!"
At that moment, all her frustrations about not being able to apply for the delivery job vanished. Her joy was back.
Qi Han glanced at the queue outside the door and a hint of concern crossed his face. The time for the Time-limited Quest was running out. It had been posted yesterday evening, and the countdown had begun. With less than eight hours left, finding a suitable delivery person seemed challenging.
As he contemplated, Qi Han noticed a young girl in a white Tang Sect uniform closely examining the bulletin board and then confidently knocking on the restaurant's door.
The unexpected knocking left Qi Han momentarily perplexed, and Ying Shuang, who was eating her meal, couldn't help but raise her head to see what was happening.
After a brief hesitation, Qi Han decided to open the door. Based on the girl's actions, he thought she might be applying for the delivery position. However, he wasn't sure if Tang Sect disciples were allowed to apply. Qi Han wasn't very familiar with the rules of the Tang Sect.
When he opened the door, Qi Han finally saw the girl's face clearly. She was a delicate and cute young lady with short black hair. Her Tang Sect uniform enveloped her petite figure. The uniform had distinct purple patterns, signifying her status as a Tang Sect disciple.
Tang Sect disciples were typically agility-type Spirit Master, and the girl's appearance seemed to fit that profile.
To avoid any misunderstanding, Qi Han asked, "Hello, are you here to apply for the position?"
The young girl blushed slightly and replied, "Yes, I am. Can I give it a try?"
Qi Han was a bit surprised but smiled and said, "Sure, come on in."
