Chapter 681: The 9th Great Workshop Master
Danaila, fifth layer of the Underworld.
There is a place where the space is filled with dim, lifeless dust, through which wind numerous serpentine dragons. Upon closer look, they are actually countless ancient tree roots.
These ancient tree roots are like jade pillars of the earth, probing from all directions and eventually intertwining in the center.
In fact, in the center lies a peculiar small island, known to very few. This is the residence of the Dark Night Mother Goddess, the ruler of the Earth Core lineage, an entire realm called 'Fangyu Paradise'.
"This is a place filled with a sense of sorrow."
"You're right, welcome to Fangyu Paradise, True Witch's Court."
Three figures appeared abruptly, landing accurately on the edge of the small island. They are the True Witch's Court, Jenny, and the Sea Mother.
Ivan had originally been at the Peak of Truth. The Sea Mother Blai Bu personally visited Truth City to extend an invitation on behalf of the Earth Core lineage, and with Jenny's persuasion, he had come along all the way here.
Without a doubt, this is a secret land, its secrecy rarely matched in the world.
"What exactly is this place?" he couldn't help but ask, easily sensing that this was a space filled with a dusk-like aura, everything seemingly heading towards decay.
"It's Lillibet's residence," the Sea Mother replied.
"Uh---- it's indeed a very quiet place," Ivan quickly added, not expecting the Dark Night Mother Goddess to reside in such a ghostly place.
"Haha, I think Lillibet would be very happy to hear that," the Sea Mother chuckled lightly.
As they spoke, a figure strolled out gracefully, none other than the Dark Night Mother Goddess Lillibet Elsop, one of the four supreme powers of the Danaila Plane.
Ivan dared not be slow and quickly stepped forward to pay his respects.
Yet in his heart, he constantly speculated and analyzed the other party's purpose. The Sea Mother's attitude was kinder than before, most likely because she had a request. What he couldn't fathom was, how such a powerful Earth Core lineage could have a request from him.
The small island wasn't very vast in area, with sporadic palaces built on its ground.
Led by the Dark Night Mother Goddess, the group entered one of the palaces. Inside, it was spacious and bright, clearly hiding a world within, and eventually, they came to a rather large garden.
The garden was full of vibrant flowers, surrounding a statue, which was that of the great Mother of Earth Core.
Seeing this, Ivan bowed from a distance, for he had often borrowed the name of the Mother of Earth Core in the past, and her deeds were indeed commendable.
"This used to be Mother's palace. Many years ago, we would often come here to play, it was a very nostalgic time."
He was just about to get straight to the point and ask about their intentions when he heard the Dark Night Mother Goddess's wistful voice.
"Is this the origin of the name 'Paradise'?" Ivan followed her words.
"Sorcerer Ivan, you are as wise and astute as ever," the Dark Night Mother Goddess praised.
"You're flattering me, I was just speaking offhandedly." Even the usually stern Dark Night Mother Goddess was like this, so the matter was probably significant, Ivan had an impulse to run away.
However, being on the Danaila Plane, where could he run to?
"Sorcerer Ivan, Jenny might have mentioned to you, she won a bet before the Dragon Ancient Ruins, and I owe you a favor, which you have never addressed, is there any concern?"
The Dark Night Mother Goddess brought up another matter.
"Jenny did mention it, but I didn't participate in your bet, so forgive me for not accepting it," Ivan shook his head. If it wasn't necessary, he certainly wouldn't accept such a bet with the air of charity.
"It seems you're begrudging us for being aggressive before," said the Dark Night Mother Goddess.
"To be honest, a little, but not much. Besides, you did offer a rare opportunity, just that I already have other encounters."
Back then, the Earth Core lineage forced him to hand over the World Tree Seed, and Ivan was quite upset at the time. Later, he gradually let it go, after all, this was a world where the strong preyed on the weak, and strength was an undeniable fact.
Complaining endlessly would only make him a grumbler.
"If anyone was aggressive, it was the Golden Throne targeting sorcerers more. Haven't we coexisted peacefully, with no major conflicts lately?"
"Perhaps."
The Dark Night Mother Goddess gave him a long look, and finally spoke about the purpose of the day: "You must be curious about why we invited you here?"
"Please do clarify."
Ivan's heart gave a slight jolt.
"Do you know? Actually, all members of our Earth Core lineage are injured and haven't fully recovered. The Sea Mother is one, and I am also like this.
The dark elves can gain my protection because they help me recover, but later lost their effect. However, they were relatively fortunate to bring Jenny back from the surface, gaining my protection once again."
The Dark Night Mother Goddess recounted slowly, unquestionably revealing a shocking secret.
"The contribution of the Earth Core lineage during the war is admired by all beings, and I too." Ivan thought it was indeed so, but remained outwardly calm.
"I'm not saying this to brag about our achievements. Our wounds haven't healed due to a crucial factor: our lineage is missing an extremely important item, which is akin to our lineage's treasure."
The Dark Night Mother Goddess continued, revealing another major secret.
Ivan felt his heart tingle.
Is such a secret really something for me to hear?
Could Lillibet want me to find that item for her?
