Chapter 638: Escape from Trouble and Flee
Ivan certainly understood this point. His gaze met Mavis's, and within it, he saw an earnest plea. He nodded almost imperceptibly.
Seeing this, a relieved smile blossomed on Mavis's face.
Subsequently, a massive wave of power surged from her into Antoinette's body, making Antoinette increasingly radiant, while Mavis's aura plummeted dramatically.
"Ivan, take care."
With a longing glance at the certain sorcerer, Mavis transformed into a brilliant radiance, transferring all her remaining strength to Antoinette without reservation.
Only a shrunken statue was left hovering mid-air and, in an instant, turned to ashes, merging into the boundless darkness.
This was Mavis's mission all along; it was the purpose of her existence, and no one could change her resolve.
"Young sorcerer, stop standing there foolishly. Lend me a hand."
"How can this sorcerer assist?"
Although Ivan had much to say, he could only fulfill her wishes. The most important thing now was to help Antoinette break free from the binding of the elementary Original Force Treasure, the Thousand-Dried Demon Rope.
Not to let Mavis's sacrifice go to waste.
At this moment, Antoinette was brimming with confidence, and Ivan was naturally willing to follow her plan.
Immediately afterwards, a lengthy incantation poured from Antoinette's lips, her power transforming into the thunders of spring, as strands of lightning struck the various nodes of the Thousand-Dried Demon Rope.
The Thousand-Dried Demon Rope indeed loosened considerably.
At this critical moment, a completely emerald Golden Rune Wand appeared, forcibly pushing the Thousand-Dried Demon Rope further apart.
Ivan saw clearly that this wand should be her Throne but at the moment, Antoinette wasn't in a great state and could only mobilize a small portion of the Throne's power.
"Quick! Now's the time." Antoinette shouted to him.
"Understood." Ivan immediately commanded the Black Soul Tower, carrying heavy soul fire to strike down, smashing onto the portion of the Thousand-Dried Demon Rope separated by the wand.
Seeing that part of the Thousand-Dried Demon Rope had its force blurred, the originally perfect binding and sealing force showed a breach.
Antoinette struggled mightily, the thunder and divine light on her body surged even higher.
Before she could rejoice for a moment, it triggered the hidden ferocity of the Thousand-Dried Demon Rope, the suppression force dramatically escalated, momentarily hindering her momentum, even causing the wand she manipulated to wobble.
Seeing the Black Soul Tower becoming inadequate, Ivan then threw out a blue tome, similarly pressing down on the Thousand-Dried Demon Rope.
"Nice treasure, just one more will do."
Antoinette remarked appreciatively.
Hearing this, Ivan rolled his eyes; the Prophet's Treasure Tome was already the best treasure in his possession. In terms of overall quality, it's not even as good as this demon rope, and the Black Soul Tower is just a Half-Original Force Magic Device, which is a tier lower.
In this arena of Original Force Treasures competition, having more miscellaneous items wouldn't help.
He could only think that Antoinette's expectations were too high.
"Will it work? If not, this sorcerer will try other ways later." He didn't answer, just maintained the power of the two treasures to the best of his ability, to alleviate the pressure the other was enduring.
"This deity has schemed in secret for so many years; there's no way a mistake would occur at such a crucial moment. Young sorcerer, just watch."
Antoinette confidently declared, but her tense and slightly bluish face revealed her strenuous effort.
At this moment, divine light burst forth, dazzling and glorious.
Finally, under Antoinette's desperate struggle, the Thousand-Dried Demon Rope snapped into two pieces, springing away from her body. The previously suppressed divine light shot up, tearing the nearby Lustful Greed flowers into bits and turning them rapidly into ashes.
Such a vengeful woman!
Ivan regrettably glanced at the scene, regretting losing a unique material for research.
"Damn sorcerer, what are you thinking now?" Antoinette's soft voice sounded, the divine light on her body retracted in an instant.
"Thinking you're quite fair-minded and straightforward in settling scores." Ivan retracted his Black Soul Tower and the Prophet's Treasure Tome.
Without the light emitted by Lustful Greed flowers, the small space became pitch dark, due to special interference, making it apt to describe it as a place where one couldn't see their hand in front of their face.
He felt someone approaching, then a soft body hurled towards him, filling his arms with a delicate fragrance.
"Smart choice."
"Which way do we go?"
Ivan wasn't presumptuous; this vengeful woman clearly had expended too much energy and was at the point where she couldn't travel properly, yet what they needed most was speed.
Such a major upheaval here would certainly alarm Vigidina and others who set up the trap.
The two must hurry to get away.
"Let me think, never mind, with your limited strength, let's retrace our steps."
"I apologize."
Upon hearing her words, Ivan didn't dwell on it, wrapping his arm around the certain Spring Goddess's waist and swiftly racing in their previous direction, not even attending to the broken Thousand-Dried Demon Rope.
He had no choice; if he took the enemy's treasure now, it would be akin to giving them a guiding beacon.
"Antoinette, you barefaced slut, where do you think you're going?"
Soon, Ivan arrived before the spatial barrier, when suddenly a female voice rang out close by, making his heart skip a beat.
This remark stabbed directly at Antoinette's sore spot.
"Focus on the road ahead, ignore that bitch Vigidina; she can't get here so quickly." Antoinette listened, fuming, but having lived for so many years, she had a modicum of patience.
