Chapter 637 Awkward Encounter
"Debra, well done."
"Mr. Ivan?"
The familiar aura and tone made it hard for Debra to not recognize the person in front of her. In her view, this man was even more mysterious than she had imagined, exuding a peculiar wisdom.
"That's right, I am Ivan Marichardon."
Ivan nodded slightly while continuously checking his own condition.
He was not a being of the Elf Plane, and naturally had to endure the suppression from the surrounding environment, which was an undeniable reality.
However, the suppression here was unexpectedly fierce, initially estimated at nearly thirty-five percent, and would rapidly increase over time, eventually leading to distortion or assimilation.
"I need to borrow your strength for a moment."
He casually waved his hand, and a small stone statue floated from his pocket. Without waiting for anyone to respond, he began to harness the power of the statue and Templer to conceal his presence.
The small statue was a disguised Mavis, whom he had brought into the Elf Plane.
Of course, for Mavis, it was simply a return to her own plane.
Seeing this, Debra slightly moved her lips but ultimately said nothing.
Within seconds, the suppression on Ivan reduced to about twenty percent, which was the most he could achieve in a short time, enough for him to exert most of his abilities.
"Stay close."
"We're all Ancient Kings here; I won't fall behind."
This time, Ivan took the lead, and the group moved closer to the most violent part of the storm, advancing much faster than before.
The closer they got to the core area, the more complex the storm became, beyond the realm of ordinary storms.
"Any special discoveries?"
Ivan suddenly asked, directing the question at Mavis.
Among the group, only Mavis had some understanding of the Jade Spirit Realm.
"There is a location here connected to the energy node of the Jade Spirit Realm, which seems to be the vent of chaotic energy. Combined with other factors, it has stirred up such a massive storm."
Mavis did not disappoint him and replied with a serious expression.
This answer did not surprise Ivan. The chaotic situation might provide a chance to infiltrate the place where Antoinette was trapped.
Going through regular means would alert Antoinette's enemies immediately.
Speaking of which, Antoinette was quite naive and unlucky back then. She was set up by her good sister in conjunction with outsiders, and the "bitch" she referred to was that good sister, Vigidina.
Many years had passed, and Vigidina continued to closely monitor her, having set who knows how many traps to harm her.
As for why the other party hadn't killed Antoinette, Ivan had no clue. He guessed it might be related to Antoinette's identity.
Time passed by the minute and second. Under his lead, the group traversed through heavy storms and chaos, reaching the eye of the storm at its core and stopping just outside the eye.
"It's so quiet here," Debra muttered.
"Don't move recklessly, beware of unforeseen consequences," Ivan warned in a low voice.
Inside the eye of the storm, there was neither wind nor waves, only an unnerving silence. It seemed devoid of any vitality, as if deadened.
In fact, it was indeed a land of death here.
From Ivan's perspective, he could see numerous barely perceptible tiny space rifts. These rifts appeared insignificant but housed terrifying power and were extremely unstable.
He had a feeling that a small movement could break the balance, triggering a deadly disaster.
Hearing the warning, Debra's expression tightened. She was not someone without discretion and understood the gravity and urgency of the situation.
"Listen, there are countless terrifying space rifts ahead, densely packed like a web, full of potential dangers," Ivan continued, and began issuing instructions: "Mavis, try to sense Antoinette; see which rift connects to her place of confinement."
This statement made Debra widen her eyes at him, trying to confirm the truth of his words.
One must know that even the Ocean Queen herself, an Ancient King, could not fully perceive or interpret all the space rifts here, indicating the immense danger hidden within.
According to the sorcerer, they would forcibly tear open a space rift and infiltrate through it.
Not to mention whether this could be done, during the process, any action not fully considered could likely trigger a chain reaction, leading to a very unfavorable outcome.
However, Ivan had made up his mind and ignored her questioning gaze.
"I'll do my best."
Mavis, reverting to her normal human size, didn't think much. Upon hearing his instructions, she began earnestly sensing her original essence.
Ivan was not idle, pointing out the positions of the space rifts one by one for her.
After a long time, Mavis had narrowed it down to nineteen space rifts. After a while longer, she was sweating with exertion, but still couldn't pinpoint the exact one, leaving eight rifts remaining.
"This is bad! What should we----"
"Stay calm. This sorcerer is watching out for you."
Suddenly, the space flickered without cause, and the positions of many space rifts shifted. Seeing this scene made her heart almost leap into her throat with anxiety.
It wasn't until Ivan's gentle voice reached her ears that she refrained from making any reckless moves.
"Mavis, if not now, when will you use the 'Lucky Compass'?"
