Solo Leveling: Banishment of the Anomaly

Chapter 85: Revelation of Once Hidden

Joo-Hee had collapsed from overusing her Origin Skill, her body unable to withstand the sheer burden of its power.

She was rushed to the hospital immediately as the Association released their only space mage from probation to ensure her safe and swift transport.

But little did Jake, now living as Joo-Hee, know…

Far beyond mortal comprehension, a mysterious being of light had been watching over him ever since the moment he was transferred into this world.

...

Far beneath the surface of the Earth, in a place where no human eye had ever gazed, lay a hidden realm untouched by time.

Within its depths, an ancient being sat in a garden unlike any found in creation.

The garden exuded a beauty beyond human perception, overflowing with a vitality so immense it transcended even the concept of life itself.

This being of light, bathed in an ethereal radiance, meticulously worked with golden threads—the essence of billions of lives and creations.

Each thread pulsed with a glow, signifying the existence it represented.

With movements akin to delicate plucking of a single sand in a desert, the being carefully separated those that had dimmed its glow, organizing the fates of countless existences.

But then...

It flinched.

For the first time in eons, its hands stilled.

Slowly, it turned, its gaze piercing through the fabric of reality as it stared toward a single point in existence.

Its voice, devoid of emotion yet carrying immeasurable authority, echoed through the vast chamber.

"It seems something has happened again… within the Outerversal Realm of Novels and Nigh-Creation."

A pause.

Its luminous eyes narrowed.

"Is it my disciples? Or… that banished Fateless?"

With a single motion, the being's form split apart, seamlessly dividing into another perfect persona—a flawless reflection of itself.

This newly formed entity vanished in an instant, like a fleeting whisper in the wind, leaving the original behind.

In less than a second, the detached persona arrived before an immense, sealed door.

The door was adorned with symbols and inscriptions—some resembling the celestial script of angels and demons, others depicting worlds and planets, stars and nebulae, and even the very concepts of creation and destruction.

Without hesitation, the being of light raised its hand.

The moment its palm hovered before the seal, the ancient carvings stirred.

The symbols of angels and demons opened their eyes, glowing with an eerie brilliance.

The door crackled with energy as the engraved depictions of creation and destruction began to shift, unlocking with a deep, resonant groan.

The instant it parted, a surge of Faith Energy erupted from within, rushing out like countless violent spatial storms.

The being of light didn't flinch.

Instead, it merely let out a faint sigh, its gaze filled with disdain, "…What an unpleasant energy."

The storm of Faith Energy raged around it, yet the being remained unmoved.

"I will never understand why the Almighty Father granted humans the innate ability to conjure and create Faith Energy… while I was given the duty to maintain the balance of Earth—sealing away the possibility of one gaining power beyond human comprehension."

The swirling energy slowly began to calm, settling back into the chamber it had been imprisoned within for eons.

With another sigh, the being stepped inside—entering the Forbidden Room, the place where all the world's Faith Energy was gathered, absorbed, and sealed away from mortal hands.

Inside the room, an eerie, otherworldly sight unfolded.

Countless candles, each crafted from the essence of Genesis, floated in perfect unison.

Their flames did not flicker with ordinary fire, but rather with primordial energy, glowing with a radiance that seemed to hold the weight of existence itself.

At the center of the chamber, suspended in the air, was a vast, formless orb—a swirling mass that appeared to contain infinite galaxies and stars within its depths.

The sheer scale of its presence made it seem as though an entire cosmos had been condensed into a single, ever-shifting entity.

From each of the Genesis Candles, thin soul strings extended outward, connecting them to various points across the Outerversal Realm of Novels and Nigh-Creation—a vast, unfathomable dimension where countless stories and worlds intertwined.

Yet, amidst the perfect harmony of the cosmic web, something was amiss.

One particular string of the Genesis Candle—the one bound to the Worldview of Solo Leveling—was trembling.

A dark, almost imperceptible curse slithered along its length like a creeping disease, distorting the golden thread with unnatural energy.

The Overseer of All Creation stood before the disturbance, its gaze unwavering.

Then, after a brief pause, its lips curled slightly, forming the faintest hint of a smirk.

"It's only been thirty seconds since I sent you into that world you so desperately longed for… and already, it seems our little Fateless is struggling to adapt."

There was a knowing amusement in its voice, laced with something far colder.

"Hah! I suppose I was right to place you in this realm rather than killing you every hundred years in each of your past reincarnations."

As the Overseer gazed upon the trembling thread, it allowed its thoughts to drift back—back to what had transpired merely thirty seconds ago.

...

For 121 years, the Overseer had been engaged in a relentless hunt, scouring the endless vastness of existence in Earth for one particular anomaly:

The Fateless.

Unlike all other beings, whose lives were bound by the inescapable chains of fate, the Fateless was an aberration—one who unknownly existed outside of destiny itself.

A pest.

Throughout its countless reincarnations, the Fateless had always sought comfort, choosing to be reborn into families of wealth and power, using its unnatural existence to manipulate the world to its advantage.

But this time… something had changed.

This time, the Fateless had unknowingly become shrewd.

Instead of seeking out a privileged rebirth, it had chosen an ordinary, humble family—an existence so unremarkable that even the Overseer had slightly struggled to locate it.

It remained undetectable until it reached the age of twenty, when its presence finally registered within the vast earthen cosmic order.

And yet, by sheer misfortune, the Fateless had not yet regained its memories.

In that moment of vulnerability, it had mistakenly used its powers—a mistake that led to its discovery.

One of the million derivative personas of the Overseer had immediately detected the anomaly and sent a report.

Upon receiving the report, the Overseer's radiant eyes gleamed with an emotion it had not felt in over a century:

Satisfaction.

A slow, deliberate smile spread across its face as it whispered, almost to itself, "I finally found you, you pest!"

A deep, otherworldly chuckle rumbled from its being.

"If not for the fact that you possess not a single strand of fate, I wouldn't have had such a hard time killing you from the start."

Without another word, the Overseer vanished from the Garden of Eden.

And in the blink of an eye, it reappeared at its destination.

Appearing before the humble home of the 2004th incarnation of the Fateless, Jake Garcia.

...

The Overseer hovered in silence at the space of the room, gazing at the latest incarnation of the Fateless—a mere mortal, sitting in front of a computer, lost in the world of fiction.

Jake was muttering to himself, unaware that his very existence was being scrutinized by an entity beyond comprehension.

His expression was one of frustration, his fingers twitching slightly as he scrolled through the final chapters of Solo Leveling.

His muttering was laced with slight irritation, "What the…? Only a few chapters left and still no mention of Lee Joo-Hee?"

Jake clenched his jaw, his brows furrowing as his disappointment grew.

"Is the author blind? Or is this some kind of rage baiting? No offense, I know the author did his best to write her character… but why throw her away like trash after making her traumatized?"

With an exhausted sigh, Jake rubbed his tired eyes, his frustration still simmering beneath the surface, "And this Sung Jin-Woo… how can he be so heartless? After months or maybe years of being healed and supported by Lee Joo-Hee, he just moves on to another girl like it's nothing...?"

His voice carried a mixture of disappointment and slight resentment. "What's the point of having all that power… if you can't even look back at your own roots?"

Jake let out a heavy exhale, shaking his head as he smiled at his own ridiculous actions.

"To think I'm actually getting this worked up over a book… I mean, Cha Hae-In is strong and resolute, sure, but..."

He hesitated for a moment, tapping his fingers against the desk.

"Wait... doesn't Jin-Woo have the shop? I'm sure there must be something in there that could help Joo-Hee get back on track…"

He slumped back into his chair, releasing another exasperated sigh.

"It just feels so unfair for Joo-Hee to be thrown aside like that…"

"..."

"Nah, I'll just finish this up and sleep soon. I still have automata classes tomorrow!"

The Overseer observed the entire exchange in absolute silence, his ethereal eyes narrowing ever so slightly.

Jake let out another deep sigh, resigning himself to finish the last chapters of the novel.

The Overseer only floated in silent amusement, his radiant form unseen by mortal eyes as he observed the Fateless, complaining about a novel as if it were a matter of life and death.

"Is this his current incarnation...? How interesting. And yet... utterly degrading."

His voice carried a note of mockery, yet there was an underlying curiosity he couldn't ignore.

"This is truly the first time I've seen him so agitated over something so trivial. Fiction, of all things. It is really distasteful to see..."
