Vol 2. Chapter 81: Total Chaos Halloween Day (1)
SKC Broadcasting Station lobby.
'Thanks to Sejun, we didn't have to cancel the shoot—and we even got some great footage.'
Kim Hyena, while waiting for Sejun, reminded herself how grateful she was to him.
Her senior had told her there would be a Run & Run shoot today. She figured she should show Sejun around.
Run & Run was currently the number one variety show in viewership. Sejun would probably enjoy seeing it.
As Kim Hyena pondered where exactly in the building she should take him, she spotted Sejun entering through the station entrance—with 27 children swarming in behind ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don't copy, read here) him.
"Sejun... huh?!"
Wait—did the group grow bigger?
No. The number of people hadn't changed. But the number of animals had increased.
Before, there was just a talking cat, a white hamster, a brown dog that looked like a bear, and a scrappy black mutt.
But now—
"Uhehehe. Something smells tasty over there."
Did... did a pig just talk?
Yes, there was a talking pink pig now.
Piyot!
[Mr. Yuren! Please don't wander off!]
Oh my god, it's so cute!
A white fluffball-like pygmy owl.
Kkaoong!
Nyong-nyong!
Bbok-bbok!
Jjaek-jjaek!
A white leopard with a bump on the back of its head, a blue salamander, a fist-sized black turtle, and a red-feathered eagle—they were all with them.
"Mr. Sejun... are you a YouTuber by chance?"
It wasn't a strange misunderstanding. No one normally walked around with this kind of entourage.
"Me? Come on. How could I possibly be a YouTuber?"
Sejun vehemently denied Kim Hyena's question.
"Then... are you part of a circus?"
"Nope."
"Maybe some other kind of performance group?"
"I just farm and run a kindergarten."
...Seriously?
Then why does he have that many animals with him?
Still puzzled, Kim Hyena said,
"Well then, please follow me."
She got Sejun a visitor's badge and led him into the station.
"This here is a drama set. We filmed Reach for the Dream, Bread King Baek Takgu, and even Son of the Sun here."
"Oh! Really?!"
Sejun had seen all those dramas Kim Hyena mentioned, so he listened with great interest.
"Ooh, how cool."
"So fun~!"
"Puhuhut. Don't touch anything and just look quietly, nya! Our Chairman Park is on an important field trip, nya!"
The rest of the group was busy exploring the drama set.
Thanks to Kim Hyena's guidance, they visited several different sets.
"Next, I'll take you to the newsroom studio. It's a lot quieter there, so let's keep our voices down."
After walking about five minutes down the floor that housed the newsroom—
"Sejun!"
Someone called out to him from a distance.
"Huh?! Kyungcheol!"
"Puhuhut. Kyungcheol, long time no see, nya!"
It was Oh Kyungcheol.
"What brings you to the station, Kyungcheol?"
"Me? I... I have a news interview. What about you?"
Asked Sejun, and Kyungcheol replied a bit awkwardly, in an embarrassed tone.
"I came for a tour."
"Oh, really? I'm close with the director here, so I'll ask them to treat you well."
"Yeah. Thanks."
"I've got another appointment, so I'll get going. Oh right—Sejun, how about next Wednesday for the housewarming party?"
Just as Kyungcheol was about to leave, he asked.
"Hmm. Next week's tough. Let's do the 15th of next month."
"You promise? I'm telling my wife you're coming on the 15th."
"Yeah, I got it."
"Don't forget your promise. Ms. Kim Hyena."
Having gotten Sejun's word, Kyungcheol smiled brightly and glanced at Kim Hyena's employee badge as he addressed her by name.
"Y-yes! Yes!"
Kim Hyena, who had been frozen up until now, flinched and answered in a panic upon hearing her name from Earth's strongest hunter, Oh Kyungcheol.
"Please take good care of our Sejun."
"Yes! Leave it to me!"
"Alright, Sejun, I'm really heading off now."
"Okay. See you later."
Once Kyungcheol was gone—
"M-Mr. Sejun, you know Oh Kyungcheol?"
Kim Hyena cautiously asked.
Earth's strongest hunter, Oh Kyungcheol, was inviting someone to his housewarming?
And Sejun had the nerve to decline and propose a different date?
And Kyungcheol happily accepted it?
Her expression made it clear: this made no sense to her.
Of course it didn't. No one outside really knew anything about Sejun.
"We're just friends."
"You're friends with Mr. Kyungcheol?! I'm so jealous!"
"Puhuhut. You could say he's like a subordinate-friend, nya!"
Just then, as Kim Hyena looked at Sejun with admiration—
Bzzz.
Her phone vibrated.
"Yes, hello? Yes, Director! Hello!"
Even though the director wasn't physically in front of her, Kim Hyena bowed a full 90 degrees while answering the call.
"Yes. Yes. Yes, understood. I'll head over."
All she did was respond repeatedly and then hung up.
Show Mr. Sejun around wherever he wants to go? Even the director's office?
Should I take him to the director's office while I have the chance?
Truthfully, Kim Hyena herself had never even been inside. This was actually her first time even talking to the director.
She repeated the director's instruction in her head—
Oh no. Can't leave Mr. Sejun waiting!
"Mr. Sejun, this way, please."
She quickly resumed the tour.
About ten minutes later—
"Hohoho. Mr. Sejun! What brings you here? If you were planning to visit, you should've told me. I would've come to greet you myself!"
This time it was Han Tae-jun who spotted Sejun and approached him.
"Oh, Mr. Tae-jun, hello! I didn't know you'd be here."
"Puhuhut. Tae-jun! Long time no see, nya!"
"But what brings you here, Mr. Tae-jun?"
"Hohoho. I came for a news interview."
"Interview? Kyungcheol said he was being interviewed earlier too. Is it the same news program?"
"No. Kyungcheol's... hohoho, it's a bit embarrassing to say in front of you, Mr. Sejun, but... his topic was 'Who could rival Earth's strongest hunter, Oh Kyungcheol?'"
Han Tae-jun answered with a sheepish expression.
So that's why Kyungcheol looked embarrassed earlier.
He had just done an interview like that and immediately ran into Sejun—must've been awkward as hell.
"And I came to talk about the impact of the Black Tower connecting with the White, Red, Violet, and Green Towers—what effect it might have on Earth."
"Oh... is it bad for Earth?"
Sejun asked with a worried tone. He did bear some responsibility for the other towers coming to Earth.
"Well, there are some consequences... but in this world, when you gain something, you always lose something, and vice versa. And right now, what we're gaining outweighs what we're losing. So don't worry too much. However..."
Han Tae-jun leaned in closer to Sejun.
(Are the Creation Gods really allowed to be walking around like this?)
He whispered discreetly.
"Oh, it's fine."
Sejun replied calmly.
"Puhuhut. Tae-jun! Don't you trust our Chairman Park?! I, Vice-Chairman Theo, trust Chairman Park one hundred percent, nya!"
Of course I trust Chairman Park the most, nya!
Theo puffed out his chest proudly, using Han Tae-jun's doubt as a springboard.
"No, I do trust Mr. Sejun. It's just... there are risks..."
"Puhuhut. No excuses, nya! Tae-jun, your trust in Chairman Park is lacking, nya!"
"I said that's not it! Ahem. Mr. Sejun, I have another appointment. And just to be clear—I do trust you."
Feeling cornered, Han Tae-jun quickly made his exit.
Then—
"Mr. Sejun... what kind of relationship do you have with the Chairman of the Awakened Association of Korea?"
Once again, Kim Hyena—still in shock—asked in a trembling voice.
Oh Kyungcheol was already a big deal, but Han Tae-jun? That was on another level.
A man who crushed domestic conglomerates with his wealth. A key figure in the global Awakened Association. One of Earth's top five most powerful people. That was Han Tae-jun.
"Hmm. Mr. Tae-jun helps me out from time to time."
"Puhuhut. That's right, nya! Tae-jun gave our great Chairman Park buildings, a house, even a theme park, nya!"
Sejun and Theo both answered Kim Hyena's question.
"I... see. Well then, let's move on."
Not that it made any sense to her. Still in a daze, she resumed the tour.
And then—
Bzzz.
Her phone buzzed again.
"Hello? Yes! President! Good day, sir!"
Receiving a call from the president of SKC Broadcasting, Kim Hyena bowed even lower than before.
And then—
Show Mr. Sejun the president's office if he wants?
That new order was thanks to Han Tae-jun, who had clearly called the station president on Sejun's behalf.
So under Kim Hyena's guidance, Sejun and his group—
"Ohh, so this is the director's office."
"Ohh, so this is the president's office."
—really did tour all the way through both the director's and president's offices before returning to the Kindergarten of Destruction.
[Taecho's Journal]
Today I went on a tour of the broadcasting station with Dad. It was exhausting, but Dad seemed to really enjoy it, so Taecho is proud! So Taecho calmed down the whiny little siblings so Dad could look around more. I should take Dad on another tour next time too.
The one who had the most fun at the station... was Sejun.
***
Twelve days after the tour, on a Thursday morning—
After breakfast:
"Heh heh. The day has finally come."
Sejun spoke with a villainous grin.
"Puhuhut. That's right, nya! The day has come, nya! Nya? Chairman Park, what day is it today, nya?!"
Theo, who had been laughing like a villain right alongside him, suddenly froze and asked with a dumbfounded face.
"What day do you think? It's pumpkin harvesting day."
Today was Halloween. In order to enjoy it properly tonight, they had to harvest pumpkins now, scoop out the insides, and make masks.
So even though it wasn't the weekend, Sejun woke up early and visited the Black Tower to bring the Children of Creation to join in the fun.
"Nya! So that's what it was, nya?! As expected of our great hybrid Chairman Park, nya!"
Theo reacted with the dramatic flair of someone who just learned something world-shattering.
Scurry-scurry!
Queng!
[Daddy! Queng is ready to harvest pumpkins, da-yo!]
Kkihihit! Kking!
[Hehe! Butler! Let's harvest sweet potatoes too! The great Kkamang wants a sweet potato mask!]
"Hehe! Daddy, Taecho is ready too!"
Hearing Sejun's voice, Queng, Kkamang, and Taecho all shouted excitedly.
"Kids! Today's the day we make pumpkin masks!"
"Really?!"
"Wow! Tongtong-i feels amazing!"
The Children of Creation and the Destruction kids all lined up in a single file in front of the gate to the 10th Tower.
Then—
"Mr. Sejun! Let's go harvest pumpkins already!"
"Ddejun Ddanndan-nim! Fwast! Fwast!"
They pushed him to hurry up.
"Hehehe. Okay, okay."
So Sejun, the group, and the children all headed to the 4th floor of the 10th Tower.
"Go to the spot where you planted your pumpkin and harvest it. The method is..."
He explained how to harvest them:
"Snap off the stem and twist!"
Each child went to the pumpkin they planted, marked with their nameplate, and harvested it exactly how Sejun taught them.
"Now use the marker I gave you and draw the face you want on the pumpkin, then bring it to me."
"Yes!"
Since there was a risk of kids injuring themselves cutting pumpkins, Sejun had them only draw the faces.
"Teacher, I'm done!"
"Ddanndan-nim, Kuku finished too!"
The kids brought back pumpkins with faces they had drawn themselves.
And then—
...What the hell?
Wait, is this our kids' current mental state?
Looking at the grotesque demon faces drawn on the pumpkins, Sejun was plunged into deep concern.
