So I Became a Witch and Started Doing Daily Quests

Ch. 115

Chapter 115: Elemental Summoned Creature

Flames, endless flames — crimson, orange-red, blue, purple, black —

The moment Janna entered the Designated Plane in her soul form, she swiftly established a basic understanding of the plane through its shared will.

"A Designated Plane dominated by flame elemental creatures. The plane’s laws are purely associated with fire, such as [Magma], [Flame], [High Temperature], and [Smelting], with no presence of other elemental laws. It’s even purer than the [Thorny Plane]—"

Thinking to herself, and given that she had descended in soul form, Janna had more time to observe the plane’s creatures and carefully select one — ideally, one with potential comparable to the Celestial Finch.

"The elemental creatures here sure have nasty tempers."

Within just a few minutes of observation, Janna had already witnessed several battles.

Each one continued until the loser was devoured by the victor — only then did the fight truly end.

"Those with flame colors of blue or higher are approximately equivalent in strength to a First Tier Wizard — so this time, I can only choose from flame elemental creatures with orange-red coloring—"

With the cooperation of the plane’s will, Janna had gained a fair understanding of the [Flame Plane].

Based on flame color, the plane’s creatures were categorized into five tiers: crimson - Flame Orb Sprite, orange-red - Flame Guardian, blue - Flame General, purple - Flame Lord, black - Flame Monarch.

With Janna’s current Second Tier Apprentice soul capacity, she could only contract a Flame Guardian. Any higher, and her soul would suffer severe backlash — not even ashes would remain.

"Flame Guardians — they should be concentrated around the outer region."

Her soul form leapt swiftly, and within a few breaths, Janna arrived at the outer edge of the [Flame Plane].

"The concentration of flame elements here is clearly much thinner than where I first descended."

Like the Thornflower Sprite, low-level flame elemental spirits were driven by instinct and lacked intelligence.

"Hmm? That one looks pretty good."

After filtering through many, Janna spotted a resting Flame Guardian in the middle of a small magma lake.

"What a sloppy appearance—"

Unlike the Celestial Finch’s cuteness, the Thornflower Sprite’s beauty, or the Hundred-Eyed Specter’s grandeur, this flame elemental guardian looked like an oversized, flaming orange.

In addition, it had two flame-formed claws and a pair of deep red eyes on its round, curved face that resembled searchlights.

Its body was about a meter in diameter, giving it a distinctly intimidating presence.

"Soul Chain."

As Janna slowly approached, without hesitation, she cast her spell in an instant while in her soul form.

More than a dozen dark chains, suspended between the physical and the ethereal, wrapped around the Flame Guardian, rousing it from sleep.

"La la— la la la—"

Flame jets surged, magma rolled.

As the Flame Guardian was about to erupt in fury, Janna — already fully prepared — quickly cast the [Siren Chanting] spell in an attempt to lull it back into sleep.

"Waaah—"

With a sound like a baby’s wail, and empowered by the flaming environment, the enraged Flame Guardian broke free from the [Siren Chanting] trance within seconds. Wailing, it began thrashing violently.

"Crack—"

Overwhelmed with fury, the Flame Guardian’s powerful will began shattering the Soul Chains one by one.

Seeing this, Janna, who had anticipated such resistance, immediately launched a second spell.

"Snap—"

A whip formed in her hand, lashing forward.

Aiming for a swift conclusion, Janna didn’t hesitate to pick up the Soul Lash — a long whip condensed from soul energy —

And struck the Flame Guardian mercilessly. As Janna’s strikes became more frequent, the creature’s wails grew more intense.

"La la— la la la—"

Seeing the Flame Guardian’s will beginning to crumble, Janna again cast the [Siren Chanting] spell — exceptionally effective on low-intelligence spirits.

After alternating between force and allure, the Flame Guardian, which had been thrashing wildly, quickly fell into a trance.

"As expected, when facing an elemental creature with opposing attributes, brute force is the way to go—"

Through numerous trials, Janna clearly felt that plant-type creatures were generally friendly toward her.

She barely needed to act before they submitted. However, such innate charm had little effect on non-plant creatures.

"By my will, I command you — obey my contract, submit to me—"

Seeing the Flame Guardian’s dazed expression, Janna seized the moment and began forming the Contract Summoning.

As the intricate Contract Array swiftly manifested around them, a new contract medium was officially added to Janna’s Wizard Tree.

"Success!"

Satisfied with the relatively smooth planar journey, Janna withdrew the [Soul Chain] from the Flame Guardian.

At the same time, a portion of her soul energy split from her body and entered the Flame Guardian.

"Awaken—"

After being nourished by Janna’s soul, the “battered” Flame Guardian slowly awoke. But upon seeing the seemingly kind and “friendly” face before it, a tremor of fear, deep within its soul, caused it to shudder.

"No need to be afraid. As long as you obey me, I won’t harm you again."

Watching the terrified Flame Guardian, Janna — who had predicted this reaction — gently flipped her hand, revealing a crimson Flame Magic Stone in her soul form.

"Flame Guardian — Enyard — sounds like a fine Contract True Name."

With that, she tossed the Flame Magic Stone to the Flame Guardian.

In response, the Flame Guardian — which had been trembling a second ago — widened its deep red eyes as soon as it saw the stone. Then, it opened its mouth wide and swallowed it whole.

"This is my welcoming gift. As long as you behave, I won’t treat you unfairly."

"Sizzle—"

Perhaps the gift had worked.

The Flame Guardian, now receiving Janna’s goodwill through their telepathic bond, no longer trembled.

Instead, it gently blew a spark, which floated to Janna in a show of submission.
