Sky-cracking Rider

Chapter 708: Section 703 - The Leader of the "Water Bears

Chen Fei looked toward the newcomer as he entered, and the next second, he couldn't help but let out a cold laugh.

"Ha! Fuck, heaven's road is wide open, yet you break into hell!"

It was truly a case of finding something without even looking for it, the other party had been sought after for quite some time.

Who?

Minante, who had come here with Chen Fei, was utterly confused. Who the fuck was this unlucky kid?

In his view, anyone who got on Chen Fei's bad side usually ended up with a grim fate, and the previous examples hadn't even been buried yet!

Ignoring the predatory gleam in Chen Fei's eyes, Xia Ji casually said, "Long time no see! 'Rookie'!"

"I've been waiting for you, come over here!"

A mass of small geometric shapes surged wildly, quickly assembling into a set of "Dragon Guard" land combat assault Single Soldier Tactical Armor. Chen Fei's next move brought him behind the other man, seizing the opportunity of his unpreparedness to capture his wrists and yank upwards, while also fiercely kicking his knees twice in succession, rendering him into a textbook "jet-propelled" stance.

Crack!

Energy Points -1!

Fifty-pound tungsten steel shackles went from his wrists down to his ankles, a real treat for a serious criminal.

Fuck, that'll teach you to show off!

Flipped over and sprawled on the ground, his face twisting in spasms, Xia Ji couldn't help but gasp for air, moaning, "Don't you want to hear what I have to say?"

Outside the villa, a flicker of shadows indicated that someone might be trying to break in to rescue him.

"Don't move, I'm only interested in sending you off to nirvana!"

The muzzle of the Railgun Combat Rifle was now pressed against Xia Ji's head, its capacitor instantly charged.

Chen Fei's words had a double meaning, threatening the immobilized Xia Ji while also warning those outside against any rash actions.

For him, it would just take a slight pull of the trigger and the 30mm caliber full-metal bullet would obliterate a perfectly good head, beyond any chance of putting it back together.

"Hehe, huff, huff, do you know? Huff, there's a huge secret, I could tell you!"

Xia Ji, unable to move and maintaining an extremely awkward posture, was panting heavily, tears almost coming down.

He had never imagined encountering such a callous brute who wouldn't even listen to reason, someone who came straight for his life without foreplay.

"Shut up, I don't want to hear it!"

Chen Fei was a combat pilot who had taken up the fight midway through his career, his style of battle never changing from the start.

On the battlefield, wanting to shoot to kill instantly and then leave cleanly and refreshed, he had no interest in dealing with all that nonsense.

All that crap about fighting for three hundred rounds, "listen to me first"... please, what a load of bullshit.

The more secrets you know, the quicker you die, that's something even a three-year-old knows. Did Xia Ji really take everyone else for fools?

"The leader of the 'Water Bear' organization is actually..."

Bang!

Xia Ji received a huge slap across his face, two teeth flew out with blood and saliva, landing on the floor with a clear sound, and the slapped side of his face quickly swelled into a crimson, blood-red Five Finger Mountain.

Minante was almost dumbstruck by the scene. What kind of deep grudge did the "Rookie" have to be so ruthless?

"Say one more word, and I'll blow your head off!"

The Railgun Combat Rifle once again slammed Xia Ji's head hard against the floor, exerting immense pressure. Even without firing, it was still a weapon perfectly suitable for delivering lethal blunt force, capable of easily smashing a person's skull.

"It's the Lord of the Sky!!!"

Xia Ji, stubborn to the end, continued his hopeless struggle and shouting.

"That's right, it's Lin..."

Boom!~

"Watermelon" smashed, the "watermelon juice" even splattering over ten meters away, leaving a mess of gore.

"Ah!"

Minante jumped with fright, his face filled with horror as he locked eyes with the murderous-looking Chen Fei.

Chen Fei said calmly, "He knew too much!"

He was a small fry, no need to get mixed up in the games of the bigshots. Since he couldn't afford to play, he simply chose to flip the table.

Minante quickly covered his mouth with both hands, frantically shaking his head in terror.

"I know nothing, I heard nothing."

Who am I, where am I, I want to go home...

The people outside the villa seemed to have heard something momentous, startled to the point where their breathing became unstable and could even be heard clearly.

The whizzing sound of dense metal bullets tearing through the air erupted, and the wall near the villa's front door was riddled with countless holes the size of teacups, as Chen Fei's railgun combat rifle fired at full force.

If walls have ears, then it's better to silence them permanently.

Chen Fei held the continuously firing railgun combat rifle in one hand and reached out with the other hand, swiftly creating various obscure mechanical parts out of thin air. A large-caliber railgun rapidly took shape, leaving the hardwood floor in ruins.

Energy Points -24

"Eh? Yikes! No, no, no, non..."

The incredulous Minante finally understood what Chen Fei intended to do and paled with shock. He had no time to dissuade him and immediately flipped over the living room sofa, huddling underneath and gripping his head tightly.

Damn "Rookie" had completely lost his mind, and no one could stop him.

Boom!~

Brick, stone, and timber flew in all directions as a 600-millimeter caliber demolition bomb breached the crumbling walls of the villa and crashed a hundred meters away, tearing several darting figures into pieces with its brutal impact wave.

Within a hundred-meter radius of the blast center, countless deadly traps activated, with blades flying all over the place and the ground revealing one horrifying death pit after another. Anti-infantry mines leaped from their hiding spots, scattering lethal shrapnel 360 degrees around.

The ferocious shockwave turned the two-story wooden structure villa upside down, transforming it into a pile of broken walls and ruins.

Debris rained down like droplets, finally settling after a while.

A multi-seater sofa pinned down by a large beam and several thick boards arched forcefully, rolling the timber off. Minante, trembling with fright underneath, poked out his head, shaking his ringing ears clear and his vision gradually sharpening to see Chen Fei standing nearby. The area under his feet, including the small patch of floor with a headless corpse, seemed untouched, in stark contrast to the surrounding debris.

"It's over!"

Seemingly perceptive, Chen Fei leisurely turned his head back.

He had not merely relied on the "Dragon Guard" ground assault single soldier tactical armor to withstand the close-range suicide blast from the 600-millimeter demolition bomb, but had also spent 10 energy points to evolve a tower shield emblazoned with "Repulsion Shield," which withstood the killing impact wave and the randomly flying shrapnel.

Energy points, those rather unused until they pour out like a flood the moment you need them, unstoppable.

After the artillery onslaught had cleared, a round of recovery, at least one energy point had been gratuitously fed to the Dog System.

The Dog System automatically rounds any value under a ton down to zero. The concept of rounding up doesn't exist; it's always rounding down harshly, ensuring it gets its significant share without remorse.

"What just happened?"

Minante felt as though his brain had been rattled by the remaining force of the demolition bomb, leaving him feeling quite unwell.

Chen Fei said lightly, "Swatted a fly!"

In the past, it was using cannons to shoot mosquitoes, and now it's cannons to blast a "fly," no problem, no problem!

Half an hour later, a small Light Wing Ship with the buzzing sound of its Light Wings flapping approached from afar, flew over the villa, which had been reduced to rubble, and seemed to hesitate as it circled three times before finally descending slowly.

"Ah? What is this..."

The short-haired woman with ears-cut, Nalan, was the first to walk out from the Light Wing Ship. She was staring dumbfounded at the pile of rubble that barely resembled its former shape.

When she left, the original two-story villa was nothing like this. Damn it, they demolished the house just when she turned around?

Chen Fei and Minante had not left either, instead, they were leisurely sitting in the middle of the rubble that had only a small piece of floor left, with a broken table and three or four hastily repaired and patched chairs around it. Nearby, a black cast iron stove was boiling water, with a shiny tea kettle steaming on top, next to a gleaming large tea caddy, brewing precious tea like a guqin simmering cranes.

The shockwave from the 600-millimeter Demolition Bomb hadn't destroyed everything; after a bit of scavenging, there were still some usable items to be found.

Determined to feign death, Minante had taken up a vow of silence, no matter what Chen Fei said to him, he merely gave an awkward smile, or responded perfunctorily with a "yes," or nodded or shook his head, afraid that uttering a wrong word would bring him fatal trouble.

This "Rookie" had sure shown his ruthlessness, which Minante finally witnessed. After the harrowing brush with death, he dared not repeat the mistakes of those who had been turned to ash, their bones gone without a trace.

"Someone who shouldn't be here has come!"

Chen Fei looked towards the headless corpse thrown to the side. Whether it was the original Xia Ji or not was probably up for DNA verification, who knew how many clone decoys this thing had. They had to make sure it wasn't another trick to cheat death and play everybody for fools.

"This is..."

Suddenly, the short-haired woman Nalan pressed her hand to her air earpiece, listened for a moment, and involuntarily nodded her head, then turned her attention back to Chen Fei and exhaled lightly before saying, "I already know, indeed there was someone who shouldn't have come."

She could understand why Chen Fei would cause such a commotion.

Where there are people, there's Jianghu, and even the higher-ups of the Righteous Army aren't always united. There are bound to be some who do not give face.

"I need an explanation!"

Chen Fei looked again toward the headless corpse of Xia Ji. Now that the whistleblower had been silenced, the only ones privy to the truth were him and Minante, who was sitting cautiously at his side.

Before this, the last piece of intelligence he had about Xia Ji was that the latter had been taken away by the Extraterrestrial Race "Sagali," yet for some reason, he had appeared among the Rebel Army's upper echelons—there must be some connection.

Although Xia Ji had now been killed, the chain of causality behind it wasn't so easily erased.

Since the issue now involved the Parasitic Species, expecting Chen Fei to let it go was nearly impossible.

The revelation of the true identity of the Water Bear organization's leader just made it all the more suspicious, very likely a conspiracy of the Parasitic Species.
