Skill Creation in the Fantasy World

Chapter 152: The Starving Team.

Felix and the team made their way back to return to the place where everyone had gathered.

They didn't encounter any other monsters on the way and quickly arrived back after ending their scouting mission.

"It was good leading you guys. Let's see each other again. I have to report back to the guild leaders now.", the temporary team leader Evan said as he bid them bye.

Felix and the rest thanked him for his hospitality as they too started separating after he left.

Roven and Felix moved together to find their other two teammates, while Selena stared at Felix's back with a slight frown.

'That guy is really strange. He's just at Rank 1 and can already go against a Rank 3 monster. I wonder what secrets he's hiding....'

As the girl remained busy with her thoughts, the two of them finally found Steve and Eric near the rear of the temporary base.

"Don't believe him! That's a lie! I never used a fireball to wipe my ass!!"

With a small crowd around Eric and Steve, Felix saw Eric struggling to convince the people around him with a panicked face.

The people were finding it hard to hold back their laughter as another voice chided.
Stay tuned to empire

"The truth is already out of the bag, Eric. You don't have to continue with your act.", Steve shrugged with a grin.

A dark look surfaced on Eric's face as he clenched his fists, even a vein popped on his forehead as he muttered under his breath.

".....I guess this was supposed to happen. Sorry...Roven.....I failed to control myself."

Letting out a sigh, Eric started to manipulate the mana around him, quickly conjuring a few fireballs in a few seconds as the crowd started to get more interested.

"Hmm? Wait- Really now!?", Steve was suddenly surprised when a few fireballs were sent flying over to his position.

He dropped his smug acting and started dodging for his life, the crowd even clapping for watching such a free show.

Roven and Felix who saw all this from behind the crowd twitched their lips and sighed at the same time.

"For fuck's sake, can't they just stop making trouble every time....", Roven eyed them with an annoying face as he was too tired to even interfere with their fight.

"I can't blame them, they must've been bored to death here."

Felix on the other was became excited to watch them battle each other.

But it seemed that the two troublemakers had to end their bout as a loud sound of metal clanging was heard all over the place.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

Everyone turned their heads in the direction of the sound and saw a few people including the two guild leaders standing at the center of the camp.

Knowing that there was an announcement going to happen now, everyone stopped what they were doing and started to gather towards the centre.

'It must be about the place Sir Victor found...'

Felix and Roven slowly moved together with the crowd as they approached Steve and Eric who became surprised at their presence.

"Oh, Roven! Felix! You guys came back. Why didn't you come to meet with us? We were worried sick waiting for the both of you here."

Steve tried to hug them dramatically, but the two just stepped aside, making him bump into a random person.

"...ahaha sorry there.", Steve scratched his head at the random person before turning to his team.

"I'm sorry, Roven. It was all Steve's fault. He tricked me into fighting him and I had no choice.", Eric started to tell his part of the story before anything.

"What!? Eric! How could you just betray me!", Steve pointed his finger at Eric as he trembled.

"What do you mean betray? I was never a part of your silly games!", Eric grumbled angrily.

"S-Silly Games?? H-How could you...!", Steve seemed to have gotten a terrible shock as he held his head.

Felix was already enjoying this soap opera while Roven had it enough and grabbed the jaw of both the boys tightly.

He pulled their heads towards him and muttered in a cold tone.

"Enough is enough, you idiots! I can't let the two of you make more trouble here. So just shut your mouth and follow me now!"

Roven started pushing the two shocked boys towards the place everyone was gathering and also gestured at Felix to come.

'Damn! He seems really mad. I guess he understood the gravity of our situation from the scouting task....', Felix pondered as he walked behind the three.

Having gained everyone's attention, the two guild leaders at the centre of the crowd started the announcement.

"As you already know, we had sent five scouting teams to look for a better place to make our base.", Dante said as he smiled.

"And fortunately, all the scouting teams have returned unharmed and the team led by Mr.Victor has successfully found a suitable place to build our base."

The guild members of the two guilds started clapping and cheering at the good news.

This place where they had been staying was a little cramped and unfavourable to stay, so they urgently needed a better place now.

Rhodes nodded at Dante and ordered the crowd.

"Alright! I want everyone to start packing and get ready to move. We need to relocate as soon as possible. Any mistakes will not be tolerated."

After ending the announcement, the crowd dispersed and started to get ready to travel into one of the tunnels.

Felix and his team helped their guild members who were part of the logistics and twenty minutes later, it was almost time for them to move.

"Sigh I wonder when we'll be having dinner....", Steve muttered as he saw the executives sorting the people into different groups and leading them into the tunnel.

Eric rubbed his stomach as he too felt hungry but didn't say anything.

Roven shook his head as he replied.

"It'll take at least an hour for us to reach our destination with such a large group, and then preparing food will take another hour. I guess we'll have to wait 2 more hours then."

A look of despair grew on Steve's and Eric's faces, making them feel flabbergasted at the long time they had to wait for food.

Even Felix suddenly felt like starving after hearing them talk about food, considering he also took part in the scouting task.

"How about we ask Miss Elsa for some snacks? I'm sure she'll give us something if we request her. Isn't that right, Roven?", he said with hope.

But Roven showed hesitation on his face as he chuckled dryly.

"Her? I'm sure she'll probably say 'nope' before you even tell your request..."

Felix just scratched his head thinking maybe it was a bad idea, but Steve and Eric came over and grabbed his shoulders with a zealous look on their faces.

"You're our only hope, Felix. Only you can save us now!", Steve rambled enthusiastically.

"Yes, Felix. Miss Elsa treats you better than us. You're like a prince in her eyes, compared to us beggars. So please ask her for some food.", Eric exaggerated with a pitiful face.

Looking at the strong emotional faces on them, Felix cautiously took a step back as he turned to Roven.

Unfortunately, in embarrassment, Roven had already turned his back to them as if he didn't know who they were.

Felix could only sigh and nod at them as he complied with their request.

"Alright, alright, I get it. It was my fault, I shouldn't have opened my mouth."

Looking at their grins, Felix helplessly agreed to them and walked away to find Miss Elsa.

The two of them sneakily followed him, including Roven who felt the need to look after them in case they made more trouble.

After asking and searching around, Felix found Miss Elsa chatting with a group of people around her age, showing them a friendly attitude which surprised him a bit.

'So she can also be like that...'

He approached her from behind and called out to her calmly.

"Umm Miss Elsa, can I talk with you for a moment?", his words made the group of people pause as they turned to look at him.

And Miss Elsa, who recognised his voice smiled as she spun around to look at him.

"Felix, you're back! I'm sorry I couldn't come find you after you were done with your scouting task."

"There's no need for you to apologise, Miss Elsa. I'm sure you were busy.", Felix shook his hands as he said.

The people around them looked at their close interaction with interest, and then a tall woman wielding a rapier asked curiously as she narrowed her eyes on Felix.

"Who is this boy, Elsa? I haven't seen him before. Is he from our allied guild?"

Elsa grabbed Felix's arm and smiled at the group before introducing him to them and vice versa.

"No, Reina. This is Felix, our guild's new member.", she then gestured to Felix to the group.

"Felix, meet my previous team members from before I became an executive. They had been away for a mission and came back just yesterday for the guild wars."

Staring at the four people, Felix could see that they were the experienced and capable members of their guild, making him respect them.

"Nice to meet you, Seniors."

The four of them, three men and a woman named Reina smiled at the show of display and quickly gained a good impression of him.

"Good work there, Felix. I saw how you were the first one to volunteer for the scouting task.", one of the men with a sharp nose and blonde hair said amazed by the boy's bravery.

The others also said a few compliments making Felix feel a bit overwhelmed.

'Shit! What will they think when they find out I'm here to ask for some snacks....'

After a brief conversation with them, Felix asked Miss Elsa again in a low voice.

"Umm, can we talk for a bit? I have a small request..."

She nodded and turned to excuse herself from the group as the two of them moved to the side.

This whole interaction stayed under the three boys' watch, who looked at Felix with respect.

"Damn, he's really good at this!", Steve muttered with his eyes wide.

Eric and Roven nodded as the three sneaked closer to hear them talk, not knowing that the receptionist was already aware of them.

"So, what's the matter, Felix? Is there a problem?", Miss Elsa asked with a slight frown.

Felix knew she must've misunderstood it by thinking that his team had gotten into some kind of trouble knowing their characters, so he corrected her with a sheepish smile.

"Oh it's nothing like that, there's no problems. It's just that....", he started regretting doing this when he saw the serious look on her face, but he couldn't back down now.

Staring into her eyes with a forced smile, Felix opened his mouth.

"I wanted to ask if you could give me some snacks. Our team is starving and we haven't brought anything to eat with us. So...."

He thought she would react negatively hearing his request, but surprisingly Miss Elsa had a proud smile on her face as she looked at him fondly.

"I knew it, Felix. You're a really considerate person. Even after going through such a dangerous mission, you're still thinking of your team member's well-being."

Felix slightly tilted his head in confusion and scratched his head, not knowing how she arrived at that conclusion.

Before he could say anything, she grabbed his arm and pulled him towards a tent.

"Wait here."

She entered the tent and came out with a bunch of small bags in her arms, pushing them onto Felix's embrace as he widened his eyes in surprise.

"Woah! That's a lot more than what I need, Miss Elsa. Is it okay for us to take so much!?"

"Yeah, it's fine. The guild leader had already ordered us to store a lot of food and rations knowing this would happen."

Struggling to hold all the bags together, Felix smiled at her.

"Thank you so much, Miss Elsa. I'll bring this to them now. Goodbye!"

"Yeah goodbye. Come ask me if you need any more help, okay?"

Felix who was walking away turned and smiled charmingly as he nodded.

"I will."

Staring at the boy's back who displayed both courage and comradeship, Elsa was certain that he met the guild leader's criteria for his secret request.

"You've grown a lot.", she whispered with a sweet smile.

Felix on the other hand raised his head high and made his way to his three teammates, who were flabbergasted at the amount of ration bags he was carrying.

Steve and Eric jumped over excitedly as they looked greedily at Felix.

"Dude, I knew you could do it! You're the man! You're the best! I love you man!!", Steve shouted as he went for a hug with the intention of grabbing a few, but Felix easily evaded not dropping a single bag.

Eric was suddenly seen half kneeling on the ground as he started role-playing.

"Oh my good friend, you're the most wise and generous. Might you bless me with a humble snack to ease my hunger?"

Roven shook his head at the drama the two of them were making, but before he could say anything, Felix surprised him with his own act.

"You want my precious snacks? Hah! The nerve! Perhaps I'll toss you a scrap….if you grovel enough that is. Hahahahaha..."

Watching their stupid play, Roven slapped his forehead in exasperation, feeling already tired of what he needed to face in the future.

"Ah please just kill me already...."
