Chapter 26: Chapter 26: The Unspoken Connection
Over the next few days, Satya and Saanvi continued to meet at the fort, their conversations growing deeper with each passing day. Though they didn't speak much about their past lives, the connection between them became undeniable. It was as if their souls had recognized each other in the quiet moments they shared.
One evening, as the sun began to set and the fort grew quieter, Satya couldn't shake the feeling that Saanvi was starting to remember something—something important. It was in the way her gaze lingered on him sometimes, or how she would seem lost in thought, as if she was trying to recall a memory that was just out of reach.
"I think I'm starting to understand," Saanvi said one day, breaking the silence between them as they sat side by side, their sketchbooks resting in their laps.
Satya turned to look at her, his heart racing. "Understand what?"
"Understand why I feel like I've known you," she said, her voice soft, almost tentative. "Like... maybe we really are connected. In a way I don't completely understand yet."
Satya's breath caught in his throat. He had been waiting for her to say those words, but now that she had, he didn't know how to respond.
"I can't explain it," Saanvi continued, "but when I'm around you, it's like I can feel something familiar, like it's always been there."
Satya reached out, gently touching her hand. "I feel the same way. And I think... I think our connection goes beyond just sketches and words."
Saanvi looked at him, her eyes searching his face for any sign of doubt, but all she saw was truth. "Maybe we were meant to find each other again."
