Siya's Raghav

Chapter 20: Siya's Raghav

After hearing everything, Janvi became nervous and began to tell Raghav about what had happened to her.

A few days ago, at Janvi's college:

Janvi had come to college wearing a green anarkali. She wasn't the most beautiful girl around, but it was impossible for someone to walk past her without giving her at least one glance.

As she was walking toward her classroom, some seniors surrounded her. One of them said,"Hey fresher, go get tea and samosas from the canteen for us. And don't forget the cold drinks too!"

Janvi knew ragging like this was considered normal in college, so she didn't say anything and quietly turned toward the canteen. When she brought them the food, they pounced on it like starving animals and left — but she had to pay the full bill.

Janvi already had limited money, so she had to borrow from a friend.

The next day, those seniors surrounded her again. One boy said,"Hey fresher, go get our musical instruments to the auditorium. We have to practice."

Janvi was already getting late for class, but she didn't want to argue and create more trouble. So she silently started carrying the instruments.

She was placing each instrument in the auditorium, checking her watch frequently — she was running late. In a hurry, she tried to carry two violins and a drum together. But after walking a short distance, she stumbled, and everything fell. One violin broke.

One of the seniors complained to the principal, who scolded her severely and told her she'd have to pay for the broken violin. Janvi didn't have that kind of money, and she didn't want to worry her mother, so she asked a friend to help her find a job.

Her friend asked her to meet after college — it turned out to be a beauty parlor. Janvi assumed it would be cleaning work, so she went inside.

Her friend Riya gave her clothes to wear. When Janvi hesitated, Riya said,"Do you want the job or not?"

With no other option, Janvi agreed and changed clothes.

Riya took her inside — it was a massage parlor. Janvi instantly realized what kind of place it was and said,"Riya, I can't do this... Why didn't you tell me what the job was?"

Riya, unbuttoning the top of her shirt, said,"Relax, you don't have to sleep with anyone. Just give massages. The money is good..."

Janvi shook her head and tried to leave. Riya grabbed her hand and said,"What about the violin money? Don't you want to pay it?"

Janvi pulled her hand away and said,"I do, but not like this... not by doing such filthy work."

Riya grabbed her by the shoulders and said,"Have you gone mad, Janvi? There's only a way in here, not out. And no one's asking you to sleep with anyone. Just show off your body a bit. Think — once you start, your life will be so much easier. You won't need to beg anyone for anything ever again. All the luxuries will be at your feet."

Janvi cried and said,"I don't want such a life where my body is on display. I don't want wealth that comes from selling my dignity... I just can't do this!"Saying this, she ran away. Some girls tried to catch her, but she managed to escape into the washroom and locked the door. From there, she called the police and told them everything.

The police arrived, but Janvi stayed hidden in the bathroom. Unfortunately, the officer who came was a regular client of the parlor. He helped the owner and framed Janvi in a call girl case.

A female cop grabbed her and dragged her to the police vehicle. Janvi cried and begged to be let go, but no one listened.

Janvi bit the policewoman's hand to break free and ran home, sobbing.

Soon after, the police came to her house and arrested her.

Raghav listened carefully to everything and said,"Go to college now."

Janvi looked at him in shock. Raghav walked away. Janvi, turning to her mother, said,"Mom, what is Raghav Ji saying? I'm not going to college..."She began to cry. Her mother replied,"Beta, if Raghav Baba said so, he must have thought it through. Trust him and go to college."

Janvi, trusting her mother's words, went inside to get ready. When she came out, Raghav and Adit were already waiting.

Seeing her, Raghav said to Adit,"Take Janvi to college. I'll meet you there."

Adit nodded and walked with Janvi while Raghav left.

At college, everyone stared at Janvi — the news about the police had spread. She felt uneasy and tried to walk inside. Suddenly, a senior grabbed her dupatta and said,"How much for one night, madam?"

Anger filled Janvi's eyes. She slapped him hard. The senior tried to hit her back, but Adit caught his hand and said,"Showing your manhood on a lone girl? If you have guts, fight me."

Just then, a professor came and the senior walked away, glaring at Adit.

Janvi went straight to the principal's office to ask for more time to pay for the violin. But seeing Raghav there, she was shocked.

Raghav walked out and said to Adit,"I've had Janvi transferred to my college. Book the tickets."

Janvi, stunned, started to speak —"But Ra—"But Raghav was already gone.

She turned to the principal and said,"Sir, please give me a few more days to pay for the violin."

The principal smiled and said,"There's no need. Your friend already paid."

Janvi, astonished, asked,"Raghav Ji did...?"

The principal just smiled in response.

Janvi came out and whispered to herself,"You're really strange, Raghav Ji. You act cold and indifferent... yet do things that make it impossible not to fall in love with you."

From behind, Adit said,"Hello madam, who are you talking to?"

Janvi shook her head and replied,"Going to my class."

Adit nodded as Janvi walked away.

As soon as she left, Adit's smile turned into rage. His eyes burned with fury. He had already found out who had harassed Janvi. He called them all to the auditorium and beat each of them up until he was satisfied. Their condition became miserable.

He grabbed one by the collar and growled,"You tortured the girl who's my life... You even raised a hand on her? I should've killed you..."He twisted the guy's hand until he screamed in pain, then walked out — calm as if nothing had happened.

Meanwhile, Raghav finalized Janvi's admission at his college and hired two new caretakers for his mansion.

When Janvi's mother saw this, she grew sad and said,"Son, I know my daughter made a mistake, but please don't take her job away. How will I manage with her and my illness in this cruel world?"

Raghav sat beside her and said,"Aunty, you're coming with me — but not here, to Oli."

Janvi's mother lowered her eyes and said,"But we don't want to be a burden on you..."

Raghav held her hand and replied,"Aunty, what are you saying? You're like my mother. Don't ever talk about being a burden again."

Janvi's mother said,"But Raghav Baba, Janvi won't live with you without working. Her self-respect won't allow it."

Raghav smiled and said,"I know, Aunty. Janvi is a self-respecting girl — and girls should have that quality so no one can crush their dignity. Don't worry, I've arranged something. My roommate's bakery shop is hiring hardworking girls — Janvi can work there."

Janvi's mother looked at him and said,"Raghav Baba, your mother must be so proud of you... And even more fortunate will be the girl who becomes your life partner..."

Hearing that, a vision of Siya flashed in Raghav's mind — and a smile appeared on his face, which Janvi's mother noticed too.
