Siya's Raghav

Chapter 18: Siya's Raghav

Siya was burning in the fire of jealousy. It was beyond her to consider Radha more attractive and impactful than herself.

The next day, Siya dressed up well and went to school. Radha couldn't take her eyes off her. Siya was already very beautiful, but today she looked stunning.

Siya deliberately asked Kabir in front of Radha,"Kabir, how do I look today...?"Without even looking at her, Kabir replied,"No matter how much makeup a lizard wears, it still looks like a lizard..." 🤣😂😂

Radha burst out laughing hearing that.Siya pulled Kabir's hair in anger, to which Kabir looked at her and jumped back, saying,"Hey Lizard, I only called you a ghost in fun. You didn't have to take it so seriously..." 😝😜

Siya started chasing Kabir to hit him, and Kabir ran away laughing.

While running, Siya almost bumped into someone and was about to fall when the person caught her.Siya stood straight and yelled,"Can't you see? Are you blind...?"The person replied in a serious tone,"You could try walking carefully too..."

Siya turned around and saw it was Anurag. She was already annoyed with him. Seeing his smile made her even angrier. She snapped,"Do you have buttons in place of eyes or what...?"

Anurag was just staring at her, lost in her beauty. When she didn't get a reply, Siya waved her hand in front of him and asked,"Hey, where did you get lost...?"

That brought Anurag back to his senses. Without saying a word, he walked away.

Anurag went straight to the bathroom and splashed cold water on his face. He looked at himself in the mirror and slapped himself hard. Still burning with anger, he punched the mirror, breaking it. Looking at his reflection in the broken glass, he said,"No! You can't fall in love with anyone. You're not worthy of love... Don't forget your reality, Anurag Chauhan. From now on, I'll stay away from that girl. She's distracting me, and I must stay in control... at any cost."

Auli, UttarakhandRaghav was returning from his class when he received a call from Janvi. At first, he ignored it, but after two or three rings, he picked up in frustration—only to hear Janvi crying.Worried, Raghav asked,"Janvi, what happened? Are you okay?"

Janvi kept crying without saying a word.Raghav pleaded,"Janvi, tell me what happened!"Between sobs, Janvi managed to say,"Raghav ji, please come here..."—and the phone got disconnected.

Raghav kept shouting "Hello, hello!" but there was no response. When he tried calling again, the phone was switched off.He quickly called home, but no one answered.Left with no choice, Raghav decided to go to Kolkata himself. He informed Adit, who agreed to accompany him.

That same evening, Raghav and Adit set off for Kolkata. Raghav also left a message on Aman ji's phone saying he was heading there.

By early dawn, around 5 AM, they reached Kolkata. The cold had taken a fierce form—icy winds felt like they could pierce through the chest.

Sitting in a taxi, Raghav pulled out an extra jacket from his bag and wore it. Adit, who had only brought two pairs of clothes, had to borrow a jacket from Raghav.

Raghav kept trying Janvi's number, but it remained switched off.

When they reached home, they found the door locked. No one was around.Raghav knocked on a neighbor's door. An old man came out.

Raghav greeted him politely,"Dada, do you know where Janvi is?"The old man replied,"Janvi? Who's Janvi?"Raghav said,"The girl who worked in my mansion as a caretaker..."

The old man thought for a moment and said,"Oh, you're Kedarnath's grandson, right?"Raghav nodded. The old man said,"Sorry, son. My eyesight's not so good anymore, so I didn't recognize you. How's your studies going?"

Raghav cut him off,"Everything's fine, Dada. But please tell me—where's Janvi?"

The old man thought a bit and said,"The maid... the police took her away."Raghav, shocked, asked,"The police? Why...?"The old man replied,"Don't know, son. The police came yesterday afternoon and took her. Her mother tried to stop them, so they pushed her. Poor woman must be in the hospital..."

Raghav immediately asked,"Which hospital?"The old man yawned and replied,"Where would a poor person go... The government hospital."

Raghav thanked him and ran toward the taxi. Adit followed him.

They both reached the hospital and, after much effort, found Janvi's mother. She had a head injury and was bandaged up, but she was lying on the hospital corridor floor without even a blanket in the bitter cold.Raghav quickly took off his jacket and put it on her, helping her up.Adit began shouting angrily,"Do you people have no brains? Leaving an elderly woman like this in this cold, without a blanket! What if something had happened...?"

A nurse arrived and said,"Hey city boy, this is a government hospital. You get what you get—don't make a fuss. If you're feeling so much love, take her to a private hospital."

Adit moved forward in anger, but Raghav stopped him,"Right now, the priority is to take Aunty home. Take her, call the doctor uncle. One house key is in the letterbox—go quickly."

Adit helped her and took her home by taxi.Raghav headed straight to the police station.

At the station, he asked about Janvi. The inspector, in a disrespectful tone, said,"Oh, are you one of her customers? You seem like a permanent one..."Then laughed obnoxiously.

Raghav's blood boiled. He calmly asked,"Would you use the same words for your daughter, sir?"

The inspector's eyes turned red with anger."How dare you take my daughter's name...?"

Raghav responded,"Then you shouldn't use such words for a decent girl. I've known Janvi for a long time—she's a good girl."

The inspector sneered,"And what is she to you?"

Raghav replied,"She works as a caretaker at my house."

Still mocking, the inspector said,"Just for the house, or for yourself too?"

Raghav was seething but controlled himself,"I don't live here. I came from Auli after hearing what happened to her."

The inspector spat out some tobacco and said,"Must be serious if you came overnight..."

Raghav slammed his hand on the table and said sternly,"That's enough. Release Janvi right now or I'll make sure that very uniform you're so proud of gets stripped off."

The inspector laughed and gestured to a constable,"Look at this guy's attitude. Come on then—strip my uniform, let's see what you can do."

Raghav gritted his teeth,"Fine. Wait just five minutes. If I don't get your suspension order by then, I'll leave quietly."

The inspector laughed it off.

Raghav stepped out and called Aman ji, explained everything.Within minutes, Aman ji spoke to the commissioner—and the inspector was indeed suspended.

Back inside, the inspector mockingly asked,"So, couldn't reach the commissioner, huh, babu?"Everyone laughed—until the inspector got a phone call.He picked up, listened, and stared at Raghav in disbelief.

Raghav walked in confidently, sat on a chair, and said,"Now, will you release Janvi, or should I take your uniform permanently?"

The inspector folded his hands,"Sorry sir, I made a mistake..."He then told a constable,"Go get that girl..."

Raghav said seriously,"Her name is Janvi."

The inspector nodded and signaled the constable.

Inside the jail, Janvi was sitting among several other girls, head bowed, hair disheveled, eyes red from crying. She wore a strange outfit—a half-shouldered white top and a light pink skirt barely reaching her knees. The constable asked,"Which one of you is Janvi?"Janvi looked up."You've been called," the constable said.

Janvi walked out slowly.Seeing Raghav, she burst into tears.

Raghav stood up and told the inspector,"Her name shouldn't even come up in this case. You know what the consequences will be otherwise..."

Then he signaled Janvi to follow him.She quietly walked behind him.Outside, Raghav gave her his jacket and said,"Aunty is fine. Adit took her home, so don't worry."

Janvi hugged him, sobbing,"Thank you so much, Raghav ji. If you hadn't come today, I don't know what would've happened..."

Raghav gently stroked her hair and said,"Everything is fine now. Let's go home."

He hailed a taxi, and both Raghav and Janvi got in.
