Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 951: 948: Border

Cough!

Cough!

Cough!

Cough!

Hidden in a location that was close to the end of the grassy plains, Corey was being held by Pamela as he coughed copious amount of blood.

His eyes and nose bled grey blood, and thick veins could be seen on his head and forehead as he held Pamela's arm tightly.

"You fool. What sort of power did you use for you of all people to be in this sort of condition?"

Although Pamela asked this question, she had an idea about the type of power Corey had used, and she was truly shocked by it.

'An illusion ability that's powerful enough to affect over a dozen Mystic Beings and an Immortal... What if it was used on me? Would I be able to break out of the illusion? Although it was an illusion of the flower, it was still an illusion that was powerful enough to fool the senses of an Immortal.'

'Corey Junior Zane... A Paragon... Are all Paragons as talented as you?'

Pamela had a curious expression as she looked at Corey who although was as pale as a corpse, and was trembling like he was at the depths of the frozen seas of the world, he was healing at a rapid pace.

It was not so fast to the point that it was visible to the naked eye, but Pamela could see how the fragmented and broken runes surrounding Corey which represented his current state, were healing at a rapid pace in her sight.

'With these sort of injuries, he's meant to require a high level healer, probably an extremely talented Tier 6 healer, but his injuries are healing so fast.'

'What sort of absurd healing skill does he have? And what is his mastery in the healing skill.'

Pamela wondered with even more intrigue, and then her eyes immediately moved to her right. A second later, Kiefer, Selene, Willow, and Rhea appeared from a void portal that manifested from thin air.

Her eyes instantly landed on an ethereal, silver-green fern that shimmered faintly under the sunlight. It looked as though dew was permanently settled on its leaves, and no matter how much it shook, the dew would never leave it. Each frond seemed to carry fragments of starlight that glowed faintly and released a soft calming aura.

'The Celestial Dewfern. One of the rarest herbs that can increase a person's talents to extremely high levels.'

'It can literally make a Tier 0 with dirt poor talents to have the potential to become a Tier 7... Well, that's if there's an Immortal to help the Tier 0 absorb the essence of the Celestial Dewfern. If not, the Tier 0 would definitely die.'

Pamela looked away from the Celestial Dewfern which was in Kiefer's hands, and then she looked at Kiefer. A flicker of surprise flashed in her eyes.

'His talent is truly something else. He was able to uproot the Celestial Dewfern without damaging it or being damaged himself.'

'And it seems he's experienced some sort of change?' Her eyes flashed, and then she tilted her head slightly. 'It looks like his foundation was made stronger? His already high talent also got higher? And it seems both the Celestial Dewfern itself and the Universal System rewarded him?'

'I'm curious. What did he get as a reward for uprooting a Grade 7 herb, an Immortal herb? A new Title? A new Class? A new skill? Or an item? Hmm...'

As Pamela had all these thoughts, Kiefer, Selene, and Willow all saw Corey's terrible condition, and their eyes flashed with worry.

"Master!"

Kiefer ran to Corey's side, but Corey stretched out his hand, signalling him to stop.

Kiefer stopped and looked at Corey with worry. Selene and Willow approached Corey with worried expressions, and Rhea who was on Kiefer's shoulder scoffed.

Willow looked at Pamela. "How did this happen? Was it the Immortal Beast?"

Pamela shook her head. "Yes and no."

Kiefer and the others except for Rhea frowned.

"He used a power that was too powerful for his body to handle. That's why he's like this." Pamela explained, and Selene tilted her head curiously.

"What type of power did he use for him to be in this state? Was that what made the Immortal Beast so furious at the top of the ridge?"

Pamela looked at Corey whose grip on her arm had reduced compared to the moment he began coughing copious amount of blood.

"Yeah. I guess so."

She muttered softly, and a second after she did, Corey slowly let go of her arm and stood to his full height.

He sighed deeply, and then he spat out one last mouthful of blood. The light in his eyes were dim, but they still had the focus and sharpness they always possessed.

Corey looked at Pamela before shifting his gaze to Kiefer and the Celestial Dewfern.

He looked back at Kiefer and praised. "You did well."

Kiefer smiled proudly, and then he handed the Celestial Dewfern to Corey.

Corey glanced at it for a moment before taking it and transferring it to his Tri-Pupil Eyes. Activating his Tri-Pupil Eyes even for a fraction of a second hand caused him immense pain, and a burning sensation could be felt from his eyes.

He would have screamed in pain if his pain resistance had been weaker.

"By the way, Master." Kiefer called out to him, and Corey looked at him.

"Are you okay?"

Corey nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for asking."

He ruffled Kiefer's hair a little bit, and then he looked at Pamela.

"You really should not do what you just did again. You were very lucky."

Corey nodded, but he didn't say anything.

"We're leaving." He said, and Kiefer looked at him.

"Where are we going? And we're trekking right?"

Corey nodded. "Yeah, we're trekking. As you can see, I can't teleport us to that place." He looked at Pamela. "And I need time to recover."

He then looked at the colossal trees in the distance with a frown.

"We're going in the direction of those colossal trees, but it seems some people have created a border in that direction."
