Chapter 724: 723: All Because of...
"Do I have to repeat myself, Calista?"
Calista shook when she heard Nuvagor's cold voice which was laced with killing intent.
Her body instinctively moved, and then she fell on one knee and bowed.
"I apologize, Lord Nuvagor."
A cold and deathly silence engulfed the entire Underground area for some seconds, and then Nuvagor spoke with a cold voice.
"Now, answer me."
Calista nodded, and she glanced at Corey, Divine, Kiefer, and Selene for a second, but a cold light flashed in her eyes along with a flicker of killing intent the moment her gaze landed on the group.
"The boy with one arm goes by the alias Smile Reaper while the boy with red and blue eyes is called Divine. Those two are extremely talented Tier 3s."
"As for the remaining, they're a little bit special but in the grand scheme of things, they're insignificant."
"Hmm." Nuvagor rubbed his chin with an interested expression, and then his gaze landed on Kiefer.
"You say that they're insignificant, but one is clearly also very special."
"Hmm?" Calista followed Nuvagor's gaze, and she blinked in confusion when she saw that Nuvagor was looking at Kiefer.
"What-"
BANG!
Just as Calista was about to speak, a loud bang resounded in the underground area which was then followed by an extremely bright flash of light.
Calista cursed and closed her eyes, while Nuvagor also closed his eyes due to how bright the light was.
The light remained in place for approximately three seconds, and then it receded.
Calista opened her eyes and quickly looked in the direction of Corey and Divine, fully expecting either an attack or their absence.
However, when she looked in that direction, she blinked in confusion when she saw Corey standing alone with an ugly expression.
"Ohh. It seems they tried to escape by teleporting with the power of the void, but for some reason he could not teleport with them and he was left behind... How intriguing."
A chuckle escaped the lips of Nuvagor, and Calista looked at Corey with a strange expression, and even a tinge of pity.
As Nuvagor and Calista looked at Corey with a strange expression, Corey himself had an extremely ugly expression and was furiously thinking of a way to survive his current situation.
After the appearance of Calista who was a bonafide and powerful Tier 6, Divine and Corey communicated with one another and made plans.
With the limited time they had, Corey could not tell Divine what he knew and guessed about Calista's connection with Triple X, Nuvagor, and the summoning of demons.
Instead, what they discussed was how they were going to escape the Underworld and most especially, survive their current situation.
Divine told him that he had a device that could safely teleport all of them to one of the Underworld Elevators that was in the Outer Area of the City of Sin.
He also told him that with Nuvagor being currently limited in his power because of Triple X's body, he would not be able to stop their escape.
When Corey heard this, he was relieved and hopeful because he truly could not find a way to defeat Nuvagor unless luck played a role in the battle.
Without wasting any time, Divine threw a flashbang, and the moment he threw the flashbang, he activated the device.
The moment Divine activated the device, Corey was surprised when he perceives void force, and he suddenly had a bad feeling as he recalled the incident with the Supreme Tribulation.
His fears came through and he felt space getting distorted around him and a second later, the teleportation failed.
Divine, Kiefer, Rosa, and Selene had successfully been teleported to the Underworld Elevator, but he was left alone.
'This is all happening because I chose to think with my dick for just a moment.'
Corey sighed, and then with a calm expression he brought out his Genesis Armament.
"Hey, mortal Walker. Why don't you submit yourself to me and I promise to spare your soul."
Nuvagor grinned at Corey, but Corey's expression remained the same.
Cold and calculating.
'I can't teleport.'
Corey thought, and then white sparks appeared around his legs.
CLAP!
A loud thunderclap resounded loudly, and Corey vanished from where he stood.
Streaks of lightning were left in his wake as he ran to the hole he made.
However, two seconds after he took his first step, Calista appeared a few meters in front of him, and Corey instantly turned to the left.
To his disbelief, shock, and horror, a hand appeared directly in front of his face the moment he turned.
Not only that, Corey felt a powerful gravitational force on his entire body, restricting his body from reacting in any way.
BANG!
"You have a strong head, Anon. I was looking to crack your skull."
Calista's whispered coldly into her ears as she held Corey's head and pushed it deeper into the ground.
The ground cracked and shattered the more, and Corey groaned due to the immense gravitational force that was acting on him.
Calista smiled sinisterly, and then she placed her lips close to Corey's ears once again.
"There was a lot of potential for our business, but after finding out this little secret of ours, you-"
"That's a fake. An illusion."
Nuvagor's voice drifted into Calista's ears, making her to pause on her words.
Calista's brows rose in confusion, and then she looked at Corey who was beneath her.
Two seconds later, her left eye twitched when she saw the Corey beneath her dissipating into mist.
'What sort of illusion is this? How was it able to affect me despite all my defenses against mental manipulation?'
Calista frowned deeply, and then her head snapped in the direction of the hole.
All she saw was a white streak of light that entered the hole in the blink of an eye.
She glanced at Nuvagor who stood with an amused expression while crossing his arms, and she instantly knew that he was observing and assessing her usefulness.
A chill spread across her spine, and without wasting a single second, she appeared at the mouth of the hole and flew inside, chasing after Corey.
