Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 689: 688: Business

Prince's mind was filled with countless thoughts as Corey's words repeated in his mind over and over and over again.

"I decided to put your skill under an illusion."

Prince could not fathom how it was possible to put a skill under an illusion.

Sure, his unique skill was sentient and behaved like a living creature at times, however, it was ultimately a skill.

His devouring skill only had one thing in its mind, to devour. How was it possible for his unique skill to be placed under an illusion?

Prince could not fathom or comprehend Corey's words at all.

"Surprised huh?"

Corey's voice drifted into Prince's ears, and Prince trembled as he was brought out of his train of thoughts.

He felt Corey's hand on the back of his neck tighten, and to his shock and disbelief, he found out that he couldn't move.

He inspected his body and to his horror he saw countless of the strange living insects in his blood stream and organs.

Prince watched as the insects injected toxins into his body which not only paralyzed him but weakened him. He could his body becoming sluggish and his mind was also the same.

"What the hell is going on?!"

Just as Prince had this thought, Corey continued speaking.

"I was also surprised when the idea came to my head. Placing a skill under an illusion? That was new, even for me."

"Do you want to see what your devouring skill is actually seeing?"

Corey pointed to the left and turned Prince to where he pointed at, and with a smile, he said:

"Let me show you."

Without waiting for a response from Prince, Corey's mana swirled at the tip of his finger, and where he pointed at began to change.

Another Corey and Prince appeared, but they were engaged in a battle which Prince was winning by a milestone.

Corey was launching poison based attacks from afar with the help of his domain, but Prince calmly stood with an indifferent expression as he watched Corey struggle before him.

Black maws that contained nothing but darkness would appear out of thin air, attempting to devour Corey but he would always find a way to dodge the maws.

Until he could no more.

He dodged a maw, but where he dodged to was the location of another maw, and then it tore off his arm with relish.

Prince watched with an indifferent expression as Corey screamed in pain, and then the battle continued.

Snap!

Corey snapped his fingers, and then the scene slowly vanished into smoke.

"So yeah, that's what your skill is going through, and until I will it, it would remain in an illusion no matter what."

Prince's pupils trembled, and for the first time since he ever got his class, Apex Predator, he felt fear.

He felt like a prey.

No!

He felt worse than a prey.

He felt like an experiment. A toy.

Prince's lips quivered, and then he stammered as he spoke,

"W-Wh-What the fuck are you?"

Corey scoffed, "I get asked that question a lot to be honest, and I've been telling you. I'm special."

Prince remained silent, and then his gaze shifted towards Jamal.

Just as he expected, Jamal's metallic shield was no more. He could see Jamal's unconscious body that had disgusting green and yellow pus.

With his senses and body restrained, he had no idea if his most trusted subordinate was dead or alive.

However, he hardly put a thought into it when his life was in the hands of an abomination.

"You're a Tier 3 poison user that is able to create poisons that can affect Tier 5s. You also have insane reflexes and an extremely powerful body. Your Martial prowess and axe mastery is extremely high. You're extremely talented with the space element. You have a domain skill which you can maintain for an extremely long amount of time for a bloody Tier 3. And you also have the ability to place people and skills in an illusion, a very powerful illusion."

"The more I list out the abilities I know, the more I'm beginning to wonder if I'm actually in a dream... Oh wait, this has to be a nightmare, not a dream. Because it's only in a nightmare that I'll be so powerless before a mere Tier 3."

Prince sighed with a complicated expression, and then he closed his eyes.

"When you kill me, kill me without torturing me. I know I deserve to be tortured but I think my mind has been tortured enough ever since I met you."

Corey tilted his head with a baffled expression, and then he turned Prince to face him.

"When did I ever say I was going to kill you?"

"Huh?" Prince opened his eyes and was instantly taken aback.

"I never said I was going to kill you. I've already killed Savage, and that has thrown a wrench in my plans already, but it's still salvageable."

Prince's eyes widened in shock. He thought he could never get shocked by anything Corey did or said, but he was once again wrong.

"Y-You killed Savage?"

Corey scoffed nonchalantly, "Yeah, but he was weak."

"Unbelievable." Prince mumbled.

"If not because we were irreconcilable enemies, I had no desire to kill him because he's going to be extremely useful to me in the future..." Corey paused and smiled at Prince. "... Just like you."

Prince furrowed his brows in confusion, and he could not help but ask, "What do you mean? How am I going to be useful to you?"

"In a lot of ways, Maxwell. In a lot of ways."

Prince's eyes widened in pure shock and the fear in his eyes increased drastically as he stared at Corey like he was staring at a monster.

"How do you know my name? How?!"

Prince shouted with a confused, fearful, murderous, and rage filled expression and tone as he stared at Corey's double golden triangular pupils.

Corey looked at Prince without saying anything for some seconds, and then he grinned.

"That's none of your business."
