Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 499: 498: Valecrest Art; Chainworld Genesis

"The runes don't belong to anyone."

Pamela raised her hands, and for a moment, the storm seemed to hesitate. The runes in the air trembled, as if unsure of their allegiance, and Zal'Zerael's glowing eyes narrowed.

"What are you doing?" It growled.

Pamela smirked, "Showing you why I'm I am HER."

She clapped her hands together, and a soundless pulse rippled outward. The runes in the air froze, their twisting forms locking into place as Pamela's aura surged. Her infinity-marked eyes burned with arcane power, and for the first time since Zal'Zerael started manipulating the runes, the storm seemed to bow to her will.

"You think you're so special because you're a dragon that can manipulate the runes?" Pamela said, and this time around, her voice no longer had the playfulness in them, it was now cold and commanding.

"Let me show you what true mastery looks like."

With a flick of her wrist, the frozen runes shattered into countless fragments, scattering across the battlefield, and Zal'Zerael's eyes widened in disbelief.

"What in the heavens are you doing?"

It asked with a tone filled with bafflement, confusion, suspicion, and disbelief. Of all the things he expected Pamela to do, he never expected her to destroy both her runes and his runes at the same time by infusing an unfathomable amount of mana inside both runes.

For a brief moment, the world fell silent. Then, the fragments began to reassemble, forming intricate patterns that glowed with a blinding light.

"Grand Array: Arcane Dominion."

The runes reformed into a massive, circular array that encompassed the entire battlefield. The runes spun and intertwined, their movements impossibly complex, creating a network of power that thrummed with energy. The ground beneath Zal'Zerael began to glow, the runes carving themselves into the earth like veins of molten light.

The draconic abomination roared, its massive body crackling with lightning as it tried to disrupt the array. "You dare challenge me with my own domain?!"

Pamela laughed with a sharp and mocking tone, "Oh, little Zal, you're adorable. This isn't your domain anymore… It's mine."

She raised her hand, and the array flared to life.

Pillars of pure arcane energy erupted from the ground, encircling Zal'Zerael and binding its movements. The colossal draconic abomination struggled, its immense strength shattering several pillars, but for each one it destroyed, two more took their place.

The runes whispered in Pamela's ears, their voices no longer chaotic but harmonious, like a symphony of power. Her infinity-marked silver eyes glimmered with amusement as she began to inscribe new runes in the air, her movements were fluid and precise.

"Let's see how you like this," she said, her tone no longer cold and commanding, but almost playful.

"Runic Convergence."

The runes around Zal'Zerael converged, forming a series of glowing sigils that locked onto its body. Each sigil pulsed with energy, and before Zal'Zerael could react, they detonated in a cascade of arcane explosions.

Zal'Zerael roared in pain, its massive wings flaring as it tried to break free. Lightning surged across its body, countering the energy of the runes, but Pamela was relentless.

"You say because I'm a human, my affinity and manipulation of the runes can never be compared to yours, but that's where you're wrong. Haven't you heard that if there's one thing humans are good at… it's being able to adapt."

"I adapted to the quality and strength of your connection to the runes, and I overpowered it and strengthened mine… The runes answer to me now, little Zal."

The draconic abomination's glowing eyes burned with fury as it snarled. "That doesn't make any sense… There's no way a human can adapt that quickly."

Pamela smiled with arrogance and confidence as she replied, "Didn't I tell you I'm the baddest bitch in the universe?"

Zal'Zerael went silent and stared into Pamela's silver eyes, "You're playing with a power that is far greater and beyond you. I admit that you're talented, but the depth and power of the runes is not what you can comprehend."

Pamela tilted her head, her smirk widening. "Comprehend? Sweetheart, I've rewritten the rules of reality more times than I can count… Why do you think I'm so strong?"

"Let me show you a glimpse of what I can truly do."

She extended her hands, and the runes around her began to shift. Symbols of power and creation were interwoven with glyphs of destruction, forming an intricate tapestry of magic. The storm above responded, its lightning twisting into spirals that followed Pamela's movements.

"Valecrest Art; Chainworld Genesis."

The moment Pamela's voice reverberated across and beyond the Raging Sky like a goddess from above, the array around Zal'Zerael expanded, its runes glowed brighter as they began to reshape the battlefield.

Zal'Zerael did not know why, but it blinked, and what it saw next, shook it.

The ground transformed into an endless network of black, writhing chains that pulsed with arcane energy and glowing runes. The sky mirrored this, becoming a vast lattice of chains that blocked out the heavens.

Zal'Zerael looked down and realized that it was standing on two massive chains.

A single chain was more than half the size of its body!

"What the-"

Zal'Zerael's words were cut off when it saw the chains from below and above move at a blinding speed, and before it could react, the chains wrapped around its limbs and wings. Each chain was inscribed with runes that pulsed with energy, sapping Zal'Zerael's strength and binding its movement.

Although Zal'Zerael was shaken by this, it forced itself to calm down.

"What is this?"

It shifted its gaze from the chains binding it to Pamela who was floating in the sky with her arms crossed and a wide smirk on her face.

"One of the series of my self-created art- The Valecrest Art… My art is going to shake the entire universe one day."

"Your self-created art…" Zal'Zerael mumbled with a tone filled with disbelief, and then it gazed at the chains around it. "And they call me a monster?"
