Chapter 158: Chapter 100: Prelude to War, the Deal Between Chu Yang and Odin!

Chapter 100: Prelude to War, the Deal Between Chu Yang and Odin!

Sonic vigilantly stared at the man before him.

Konoha Village?

What kind of ninja village is that?

As a ninja himself, hailing from a ninja village, he had never heard of a place like that before.

On the other side, Chu Yang realized he had misspoken, offering an awkward smile before asking, "Who are you?"

The corners of Sonic's mouth curved upward as he gave an arrogant laugh, "I am Speed-o'-Sound Sonic, the strongest ninja in the world today. I've seen the footage of your battle with the giant. Though you used techniques I've never encountered, I'm certain you're a ninja."

"I'm here to recruit you. Join me, and together we'll elevate the name of ninjas to new heights!"

Before Sonic could finish his sentence, Chu Yang waved dismissively, yawning as he brushed past him.

"Hey! Don't just walk away! I'm not done talking, you—"

"Sorry, I'm not interested in your ideals. Go find someone else."

Sonic jogged ahead and blocked Chu Yang's path again, gesturing for him to stop. He took a deep breath and said, "It's my fault for not thinking it through. You haven't seen my strength, so it's understandable if you think I'm bluffing."

Chu Yang paused, looking a bit stunned. "Uh... that's not what I meant. I'm just honestly not interested."

Of course, Chu Yang knew Sonic's strength.

Aside from the protagonist, Saitama, there were only a few who could make Sonic suffer in the storyline. Most of his opponents were dragon-level monsters or S-class heroes.

Sonic's power was undeniable; he was among the top-tier fighters in the One Punch Man universe.

"I'll make you submit!"

Sonic pulled out a shuriken and, without a word, hurled it at Chu Yang.

"You're incredibly rude!"

Chu Yang tilted his head to dodge, and two seconds later, the shuriken exploded loudly behind him.

"Your reaction speed is impressive—almost on par with mine," Sonic remarked, scrutinizing Chu Yang with an admiring gaze. "But in my next attack, I won't hold back!"

Sonic's figure blurred as two afterimages appeared in his place.

"Secret Technique: Two Shadow Burial!"

Watching Sonic's knockoff version of the Shadow Clone Technique, Chu Yang couldn't help but laugh. He decided to respond with a true Shadow Clone Jutsu.

Suddenly, a shadow clone appeared behind Sonic, pressing a hand on his shoulder.

Startled, Sonic turned to find the clone behind him. His pupils contracted sharply.

When did he get there?

He glanced back at Chu Yang, who was still standing in place.

Then back to the clone.

It was real!

Sonic kept turning his head back and forth in disbelief.

"You... you... what is this?"

The shocked Sonic stammered, unable to form coherent sentences.

"A clone technique. You claim to be a ninja, yet you don't even know such a basic ninjutsu?" Chu Yang scoffed at him with disdain.

"Basic... ninjutsu?"

Sonic felt his brain was on the verge of overload. In all his years in the ninja village, he had never heard of a clone technique that could produce tangible duplicates.

"Were you the class dunce in school? Didn't pay attention to lessons, did you?" Chu Yang teased the dazed Sonic with a mocking grin.

"Bullshit! They never taught us anything like this! Clearly, it's your ninja village that's bizarre!"

The term "class dunce" struck a nerve in Sonic, as he had indeed been at the bottom of the rankings during his time in the ninja village.

Incidentally, his low ranking allowed him to develop an extraordinary digestive and poison resistance due to harsh survival conditions.

Flashy Flash, currently ranked 13th among S-class heroes, had graduated from the same ninja village as Sonic.

On the day of their graduation, Flash slaughtered all the instructors, classmates, and staff in the ninja village. Out of nostalgia, he spared Sonic but used poison on him instead.

Thanks to his high poison resistance, Sonic narrowly survived.

"I suggest you go back and relearn everything before you start talking about elevating the name of ninjas."

Chu Yang offered him sincere advice, hoping to spare him the inevitable embarrassment of becoming the "One-Testicle Lone Swordsman" after meeting Saitama.

But Sonic dismissed Chu Yang's goodwill. Furious and humiliated, he launched a relentless attack on the surrounding shadow clones.

"Sonic Consecutive Strikes!"

"Wind Blade Kick!"

Sonic moved like lightning, raining dozens of punches on the shadow clones in the blink of an eye. Then, with a swift kick, he targeted a clone's weak point, his leg sweeping with razor-sharp wind.

After executing his fierce attacks, Sonic smiled confidently.

They're just clones.

When he turned to pursue Chu Yang, another shadow clone blocked his path.

Sonic's eyes widened.

Another one?

Behind that clone was yet another, and another.

Sonic looked around in panic.

On the streets, rooftops, and sidewalks, countless shadow clones surrounded him, an endless tide of people.

Goosebumps prickled across Sonic's scalp.

Chu Yang walked further away, snapping his fingers casually. "Finish him."

The shadow clones swarmed Sonic, burying him in a sea of bodies.

"AHHHHH!!!"

---

In the days that followed, Sonic repeatedly challenged Chu Yang, only to be mercilessly crushed by various ninjutsu.

With his Six Paths Sage Mode, Chu Yang could theoretically perform all five elemental techniques—Fire Release, Water Release, Lightning Release, Earth Release, and Wind Release.

Having witnessed these diverse ninjutsu, Sonic's eyes lit up with newfound purpose.

For the first time since leaving the ninja village, he clearly saw his life's goal.

This is what a true ninja is!

Everything I learned before was garbage!

---

"Ding-dong! Ding-dong!"

The doorbell rang urgently.

"Again? So annoying! I swear I'll beat the crap out of you this time!"

Groaning, Chu Yang climbed out of bed, opened the door, and, unsurprisingly, found Sonic's irritating face staring back at him.

"You're asking for it, aren't you? Fine! I'll send you to the afterlife right now!"

Rolling up his sleeves, Chu Yang prepared to attack, only for Sonic to kneel abruptly, gazing at him with bright, determined eyes.

"Master!!!"

Sonic's expression was sincere, his tone reverent. "Please allow me to call you Master. From today onward, I want to follow you, learn your ninjutsu, and become the strongest ninja!"

Chu Yang: "..."

Sonic clasped Chu Yang's hand, his eyes sparkling. "Master, I'm sure you'll agree. After all, disciples as talented as me don't come by easily..."

BAM!

Chu Yang slammed the door shut with all his might.

"Get lost!"

From that day forward, Sonic showed up daily, insisting on becoming Chu Yang's apprentice. He was determined to learn the pinnacle of ninjutsu from him.

Chu Yang was at his wit's end. If Sonic had come to cause trouble, he could've just killed him. But Sonic wasn't here to fight—he was here to grovel, leaving Chu Yang no opportunity to use force.

---

One day, while on a mission to eliminate a monster, Chu Yang arrived at the scene to find the tiger-level threat already defeated by Sonic.

Amidst the crowd of onlookers, Sonic eagerly approached Chu Yang, saying, "Master, the mission is complete!"

Chu Yang sighed deeply.

Whenever monsters appeared in City D, Sonic always beat him to it, claiming he was "relieving the Master of burdens."

At this rate, Chu Yang was going to lose his job.

"Say what you will, but you're undeniably fast. Where do you get your intel from?" Chu Yang asked, baffled.

"From this guy," Sonic replied, pointing at Foster, who was hiding in the crowd. Chu Yang glanced at Foster, who offered an awkward smile.

"Sonic asked me what he could do to help you as a registered hero of the Hero Association, so…" Foster stammered, rushing to explain and avoid incurring Chu Yang's wrath.

Originally, he thought Chu Yang had the potential to become an S-class hero. Now, he realized he had underestimated him.

Even his apprentice had S-class strength! How powerful must the Master be?

Damn it! I'm going to the top! Foster rejoiced internally.

But when he caught Chu Yang's cold gaze, he broke out in a cold sweat.

"Foster, you sure love finding people to replace me, don't you?"

Hearing this, Foster's heart leapt to his throat. "N-no! That's not what I meant, Mr. Chu. It's just that Mr. Sonic insisted on helping…"

Ignoring him, Chu Yang turned to Sonic and asked, "What do you really want?"

Sonic responded earnestly, "I want to become a true ninja under your guidance."

Deciding not to deceive him, Chu Yang replied bluntly, "It's impossible. You lack the aptitude."

Chakra is a fusion of physical and mental energy.
