Chapter 451.

The black light that Phantom Death Douluo transformed into at the end was a special clone-type spirit ability.

Before dying, he used a clone to carry his soul, though at the cost of sacrificing –all his soul power and martial soul. Even if he managed to survive, he wouldn't live for long. However, this was the first time Wang Feng had encountered such a martial soul technique.

"The world of Douluo truly has some bizarre martial soul and soul ability," Wang –Feng murmured, shaking his head.

Phantom Death Douluo was undoubtedly one of the most peculiar opponents he had ever faced. It was also Wang Feng's first time encountering an enemy whose abilities directly attacked the soul and spirit. While Phantom Death Douluo's raw strength might not compare to a level ninety-five Titled Douluo, his soul abilities were very formidable. Each one had the potential to kill opponents outright rather than simply defeating them in strength.

As far as his deathly techniques were concerned, Wang Feng felt that few Titled Douluo could keep up. If one's soul strength was weaker than his, death was almost inevitable. Even those with significantly stronger souls would still suffer serious trauma. Only a rare few, like Wang Feng, who had undergone special soul-tempering, could resist such attacks.

"Bibi Dong, just how many hidden strategies do you have?" Wang Feng wondered.

This version of Bibi Dong felt quite different from the one in Wang Feng's memories of the original story. Although he hadn't read the entire novel and wasn't sure of all the later plot developments, he did know how the story was supposed to end—the protagonist ultimately triumphs over the villain.

However, given the current situation, things seemed to have changed drastically.

One of the most significant differences Wang Feng noticed was that the Seven Shrek Monsters were stronger than in the original timeline. Yet, their enemies had not grown any weaker. If anything, the villains—especially Bibi Dong—seemed far more powerful and intelligent than he had expected.

It was as if some kind of balancing force was at play.

"Could this be the influence of the Heavenly Dao in the Douluo World? Is there even a Heavenly Dao in this world?" Wang Feng pondered.

But the Douluo World was, at best, a small world. There shouldn't be a Heavenly Dao governing it. The strongest beings, such as gods, typically did not interfere in human conflicts. The most they would do was leave behind inheritance trials.

"Or perhaps... it's balance!" Wang Feng speculated, shaking his head.

Balance was a mysterious force, difficult to understand.

With this realization, Wang Feng's thoughts became clearer. There was, indeed, an element of cause and effect at play.

Phantom Death Douluo had been sent by Bibi Dong. And why had she sent him? Because Wang Feng had leaked information that he was still alive. That revelation had made Bibi Dong more cautious and meticulous in her planning.

And yet, Wang Feng himself had revealed that information in an attempt to change the course of events…

Realizing this, Wang Feng let out a sigh.

Fortunately, he had sensed something was wrong and reacted quickly. Otherwise…

His gaze shifted toward the others, who were still in shock. Without saying a word, he slowly walked forward, turning the Golden Lotus in his hand and allowing its healing energy to spill over Tang San's body.

Tang San's eyes regained a faint glimmer of vitality, and his nearly extinguished life force began to stabilize.

Wang Feng frowned slightly. The Golden Lotus' immense healing ability was only able to keep Tang San's heart beating for now, ensuring his soul remained intact.

It was impossible to save him.

Tang San's strength simply couldn't withstand the blow of a hundred-thousand-year soul beast. If not for Xiao Wu shielding him momentarily with her golden body, he would have already died.

Wang Feng could use the Golden Lotus to keep Tang San alive, but expecting a full recovery was unrealistic. Unless someone had an eighty or ninety-level cultivation to amplify the Golden Lotus' power, its ability had limits.

The Golden Lotus couldn't restore a person to perfect condition instantly—unless the injured individual had a much weaker life force, like a soul beast of significantly lower rank.

Take the little blue bird, for instance. It was merely an ordinary creature at first. In that case, Wang Feng was able to use the Golden Lotus to heal it completely because its life force was exceptionally weak.

But Tang San was different. He wasn't just any ordinary soul master—he was a level sixty soul master, one with twin martial souls and formidable abilities. His vitality far surpassed that of others.

If the Golden Lotus couldn't even revive Yaya and Xingxing, then fully restoring Tang San was out of the question.

Simply keeping him alive was already pushing the limits.

"Xiao San won't die for now," Wang Feng murmured as he retracted the Golden Lotus. "But it will take a long time for him to recover completely."

"I can save him," Xiao Wu whispered.

"In our soul beast lineage, there is a sacrificial ability. By offering our life and soul ring, we can transfer our power to a human without any negative side effects. With such immense vitality, Third Brother could recover fully, just as he was before."

Wang Feng was stunned upon hearing this. He was well aware of the concept of sacrifice.

For Tang San to heal completely, he needed a massive source of vitality. A hundred-thousand-year soul ring could provide that, but Tang San couldn't absorb such a high-level soul ring at his current state.

Even if he were in peak condition, absorbing a hundred-thousand-year soul ring at this stage was impossible—his limit was around fifty or sixty thousand years.

He wasn't like Wang Feng, and Wang Feng understood this better than anyone.

However, if Xiao Wu were to sacrifice herself, Tang San –would be able to absorb the hundred-thousand-year soul ring without burden. The immense vitality contained within it could fully restore him.

Wang Feng glanced –at the sacred beast in the distance.

It was also a hundred-thousand-year-old soul beast—an immensely powerful one at that.

But expecting such a ferocious creature to willingly sacrifice itself? Impossible.

Even Da Ming and Er Ming together couldn't defeat this beast. That alone was proof of its terrifying strength.

For a moment, Wang Feng didn't know what to say.

From the perspective of a reader, Xiao Wu, as the original heroine, would certainly not die even if she sacrificed herself she would definitely be resurrected.

Otherwise, the original story would have taken an entirely different turn.

This was also Tang San's opportunity—his chance to obtain a hundred-thousand-year soul ring.

Under normal circumstances, it was impossible for Tang San to acquire a soul ring of such a high level at this stage.

Wang Feng's own hundred-thousand-year soul ring was only bearable because of the system's enhancement.

Wang Feng didn't oppose Xiao Wu's decision to sacrifice herself—because he knew she wouldn't truly die.

At worst, her situation would be similar to Yaya's.

However, Xiao Wu's case was different from Yaya and Xingxing's. She possessed the immortal herb, which could protect her original body.

Even so, Wang Feng hesitated. He wanted to persuade her…

"Brother Feng, you don't have to convince me," Xiao Wu said, wiping away her tears.

"Over the past five years, I've asked Da Ming and Er Ming about this. If I sacrifice myself, I can still be resurrected. And I still have that immortal herb—it has always been with me. I understand its effects, so I may not truly die. I can't let you stay by Xiao San's side forever, protecting his life with the Golden Lotus."
